  1. For those of us\you, who would like to do away with this thread,,,,, I read all the posts and as a whole found it interesting. Yes, I know all about the 'overpaid' CEOs, mega churches, and the like, so I find it kind of difficult at times to decide on which charity to donate to. Maybe some of you have the same problem, and so don't give anymore,,, ya I can read between the lines,,,,,. This then becomes a problem not only for the receivers but also for the givers, since it is more pleasant to give than to receive, and we will be blessed for giving when we do. Let's see if we can turn this thread around a bit, and share with each other some success stories of charities, and maybe, also tell others of good places to invest for our future, places that are there help the needy and not to fill pocket books.
  2. First off, when you re-solder you need to de-solder first. That means heating the solder that is presently there and getting rid of it. I use a vacuum tool that does that very nicely. After that is done, clean with contact cleaner and then re-solder. Secondly, the problem could also lie in the connectors under the trunk. Take them apart, clean with contact cleaner and put them back together,, no grease involved.
  3. Try: Go to search at top of page. Type in: 'what to look for' in the bottom window. Click on VentureRider.org button. Do the search and see if one of those articles are what you are looking for.
  4. Gosh he looks young, don't he???? Must be an old picture!!
  5. So to be able to help the next planners decide how to do an IR, let's give the some ideas. What's important to us as VentureRiders when we get together for 3 days. Are rides important? Is the food important? Is the overall cost a factor? Is it important to have local tourist traps available? Does it matter what part of the week it's being held? Does the month matter? Are the daytime temperature an important issue? Do we need to have draws and raffles? Do we need to have shirts and patches? Do we need to be on the same site, campers and hotelers? How much time should be left for just getting together, camaraderie? Should we plan something different for the women? How long should the rides be? Just some questions to start the thinking process. Some may get dealt with, some may not, but at least we have something to look at,, so type away and give your input.
  6. I think you may be a little slower today, and it ain't all the traveling of the last few days,, it probably has more to do with the total travels of a lifetime. 66 isn't such a bad number,,, I hope to get there someday just before you leave that post. HAPPY BIRTHDAY and wish you many more.
  7. Ya,,, don't mind doing that,, but will it start the bike??
  8. Careful when you do that, you might find them getting in the way when you put your feet down and have to duck walk.
  9. I never use anything,, so far so good, and the one tractor I have is close to 40 years old.
  10. If there is a notch, then I wouldn't tighten them. If it slips into the notch while you are riding, you may have 2 legs that would be moaning. Like was said, loose is nothing compared to tight.
  11. When you want to sell a complete bike on this forum, it's kind of like preaching to the choir,,,,, hey we mostly all have one already, and unless your name is Dan and the price is real cheap, we're only interested in what it is, what you are asking and what it looks like. But buying one??????? nah, not interested. Now parts on the other hand could generate some real interest. So I guess we still love you,,, well maybe at least a little bit.
  12. Got to find my ducks and then get them in a row,,, later today maybe. Lights are on, wheels are tight, won't need the trailer I think.
  13. What is it that you're so upset about,,you got it right and now, so does he,,,,,, tent for the scoot, and,,,, well he needs to sleep well, to stay safe, doesn't he???
  14. Just file a small 45 degree angle on the leading edge of the pads,,, problem solved!
  15. Best to go to the JBM site and follow their instructions. Takes a little time, but pays off in the end.
  16. YEP!
  17. Seal All will work but only for a short while, because it will harden enough to cause more more problems,, been there, done that. Best to get new diaphragms from: http://jbmindustries.com/index.html They work great and the price isn't all that bad. If you have pinholes now, it will only get worse as time goes on. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish.
  18. I'm up for one in Ontario,,,,, but,,,, need to find a place where everybody is TOGETHER and is affordable,,,, I'd even do it on my own,,, but then I like those sort of things, and my wife is a big help. I would need volunteers to help put, run & find rides etc, and there would be no draws or prizes. It would be organized for us to socialize and enjoy each others company. And oh yes,,, the food has to be excellant!!!!!
  19. Put in a can of seafoam to half tank, ride it a bit, let it sit overnight, ride it a bit again, let sit a bit some more and then RIDE IT. Let us know if it helps. Could be some crud in the carbs and this process might help.
  20. My lips aren't moving!!!!
  21. A thought came up in my mind, but somehow I don't think I should post it,,, well not yet anyways,,, I'll let somebody else take the hit first. Come on Yammer,,, say it.
  22. Marcarl

    Help!!!

Tried calling them, but they was closed.
  23. This was a great rally,,, yes the committee did their part, they sure did! It takes a lot of hours, headaches, loss of sleep, changing ones mind and in the end there are all those glitches to deal with. As riders we didn't notice any of the above, but the committee did. Thanks to you all for planning this all out. BUT:::::: this would not have turned out without us being just us. We are a welcoming group, we show respect for each other, we care for each other, we don't dwell on somebody else's differences, and we don't mind helping each other,,, or other others for that matter. It's the type of site (group) we belong to. The stage is set with our on-line guidelines,, and how we deal with each other on-site. We have taken on the attitude that we are a family, and that showed up big time during the rally. Thanks everybody for giving Marca and I such a great week.
  24. Before you do any repair, make sure you clean the coating off first or things won't stick very well, it also helps with adherence to roughen things up.
  25. If you see a sign post that says, Brantford,,,,, you're headed in the wrong direction, but a meal and drink can be had,,,, and I know N O T H I N G about Harleys.
