  1. You forgot to give your scoot it's final rinse, somebody was just trying to help out,,,,, and oh, the hail, just telling you not to forget that again!!!!
  2. Only the Mods have all the answers to this test, and if anybody wants to know what the answers are then we WILL get a little testy. Also, it has been discovered that testing is an excellent way to find out where and when the testors come from, and whether or not there is testosterone involved. If you don't believe this then you may contest this, but the results could be rather contestable. If this were a real test, then the results would be smartest thing that happened on this site, but seeing as this is only a pretest, only those who have so far responded are not know to be the brightest. If you would like to be a contestant in the future I haven't the faintest idea of how you would enter such a contest. Now seeing as we all have so much time on our hands, maybe somebody can come up with how many times the letters t.e.s.t have come up in this thread. Mine you, this is a test and only a test,, not an exam. Now that we're talking about exams,,, what are you examining?
  3. Just came to mind with your 'stand-up' comment. Make sure you have a place to put your feet when you come to a stop, and not on a painted line. It won't be any bigger problem than it was before, but now with the added weight at standstill, it gonna be much more important.
  4. Brad asked to same question and I told him yes,, so I guess there is.
  5. Boy,,,, you'll do anything to get company, won't you.
  6. Going on to the next place is always difficult for those left behind. For those who departed hopefully it's for the better, and they can celebrate the journey, but for us who are still here, it reminds us that we will have to go that route someday as well. I'm sure that Gunboat would not want us sitting around mopping, but rather to celebrate the time we had together. Yes we will all miss him, some a lot more than others, and that's what happens when a person has a large impact on your life, and he had a huge affect on many. Someday I will see him again, and if my memory goes with me, we'll be able to talk about VentureRiders.org and the blessing it was to us to be part of such a special group. Hopefully there will be many more to share stories with when we get there.
  7. Your passenger needs to be a sack of wheat, straight up and not to lean one way or the other. If you draw an imaginary line at the back of the scoot, from the ground, up the rear tire, over the center of the trunk it should continue to the center of their helmet. When you ride straight that line should stay straight up and when you lean into a curve that line should remain straight, so they do lean with the bike, but stay in virtually the same position in reference to the line we just imagined. If they don't stay in that position you'll have a heck of a time in the corners, either your bike will cut the corner if they try to help, or if they counter lean you'll be taking a real close look at the road side. As long as you are going straight, they can do almost anything they want, stretch their legs, move their butt, wave, go to sleep (mostly not recommended), you feel the movement but will have very little effect on anything, but in the curves, sit-down, shut-up and hang on.
  8. Keep us posted, we're praying for you.
  9. Anytime, bro, anytime!
  10. That the age thing, go run around the block and then you'll feel younger! well in your case maybe just walk!
  11. Someday we all get to face this time in our lives. For you, Dan, this happened earlier than you had expected, but you were able to find another supportive family to help you through the deep waters. We will ask the Great Shepherd for comfort for you and your family. It's not an easy time, but yet blessings will be given and can be found. May He bless you in your time of sorrow.
  12. I'm glad we're coming, (or going I guess, depends on the side of the fence we're on), otherwise I have a feeling we could be missing a GREAT rally. Thanks for putting it all together.
  13. IT WAS a 2ND gen we we're hammering on! First gen was sitting outside,,, thinking to itself,, when are you young bucks ever going to learn,,,, let go of that air and they won't need to beat it out of you.
  14. Have you had problems bleeding your clutch master? Did you have to tie the handle back for an overnight sit? Did you pump bleed, vacuum bleed, pressure bleed, all to find out that your clutch still wouldn't work? Well, that's what happened to us last night, so we needed a new solution and I think this would work for the brake master as well. First make sure the reservoir is full of clean fluid. Then tap lightly with the plastic end of a screwdriver or what ever else might be handy that won't mar the master. As you lightly tap the the end of the master (see picture), slightly wiggle the handle. As you do this, you'll notice that air bubbles will rise in the reservoir. This is the culprit. Continue to tap and wiggle until all the air is out. If the rest of the system is free of air, you should have a working clutch within 2 minutes. If you haven't bled the system of air, you can now attempt this. As we didn't have any air left in the lines or the slave I can't say what exactly would happen in such a case, and we were happy enough with our results not to try it from scratch. Hopefully this will help in the future.
  15. Sooooooo???? next year you'll be 77, no better time to go to MD,,,, you'll even feel at home with the age thing,,,,, after all, Bongobob comes every year, Yammer Dan, B2Dad, 86er, Carbon One, and a whole host of others that complain about aches and pains and have to brag about how fast they used to ride.
  16. Yep, she did it, for 43 years she's been by my side, held my hand, told me when I was wrong, praised me when I did something right. Allowed me to slip and fall but was there to heal the wounds. Raised 6 wonderful kids who now have 15 grandkids. Spent the money that made so there was always room for more. Don't really know how she managed to hang in there, but seeing as I was not leaving, she decided to stay as well. We've had tough times, good times, crying times, and joyful times,,, and,,,,, We may not have it all together,,,,, but,,,,,, together we have it all. Thanks Hon,,,, you've been the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Keep posting, you're doing real well, and keep an eye on that oil level, it helps to keep things lubricated.
  21. It's plastic, has 6 wires attached, and is white,,,,, that's what it is,,,,,,,, I think???
  22. Starting from the inside of the basket, you have the plate seat, then the spring cushion and then the first fiber plate, then a steel plate, then a fiber and so on. Hope that helps better.
