  1. Two things I take away from this statement,,,, first is, he must have been good looking,,, and second, he might have been spending time with you and just hadn't been able to get a word in edgewise.
  2. My dad had a dairy farm. I was 6 when he bought it. Wasn't allowed to fork hay into the mangers til later sometime. Was told I was more dangerous with a pitch fork than the Russians were with their bombs. From washing teats and sweeping floors I graduated to cleaning gutters when I was tall enough to crank up the litter carrier while standing on a box, later that carrier became a wheel barrow and there was a time or two that I did a face plant in the soft stuff it carried. First real job was delivering feed in 100lb bags. Was 16-17 then and carried 2 bags at a time, couldn't see the use of walking from one end of the barn to the other with only 1 bag. Yep 16 and foolish. Then it was on to butchering and the rest is history. Now I'm out of work but can't seem to catch up with anything,,, even the riding is only here and there,,, only got out twice today.
  3. Don't you have some work you can do today???
  4. It's not done yet,,,, rode back from WNY rally and was quite pleased,, although I could at times feel a slight thumping, but thought it could be my head doing funny things. Yesterday I went out and lo and behold it was back with a vengeance,,,not the front though, now I know this is in the rear. Before at times it was hard to determine, so the alignment and new skins did solve the front end issue,,, but now what's with the back,,, had it taken off at Pioneer and balanced and rechecked and then checked again. Now this bounce. The rear is an inside\outside tire, Kumho,Ecsta Ast Ku25, runs fine until about 80kph, and then rattles my back teeth if I had them.
  5. Check the vent for the gas tank. Could be that the engine heat is heating the fuel as it sits. If the vent is blocked the added pressure could push fuel into the carbs. Might not happen if the tank is half empty because it can't build enough pressure to get by the float valves,,,,, long shot I know,,,,,, but having a properly working vent is also nice to know.
  6. Gotta meet this guy,,, who did he tow for??? out-talk Saddlebum???? now there is a feat,, he is a rare one indeed!!!
  7. Congrats you two,, always nice to have more kids, 'specially the grand ones.
  8. Nope!!! don't wear a hat, much less a bandana,,, couldn't have been me!
  9. Tooch,,,,,, don't ever, never let me say that you are slow to understand,,,, you got this one dead in your sights,,,,,, just waiting to hear what the reply might be.
  10. T'was a great rally,,, or maybe better called retreat. A time to be able to leave all your troubles elsewhere and if you couldn't leave them, you wouldn't have time to worry over them anyways. Just so many friends and great people to meet and click with,,,, right from the time you get up (coffee from Timmies @ Bens, thanks Jay) to the time you fall over in bed. Company was such as is wished for, food went down with no issue, you never needed to be thirsty, and if you sat in a corner to silently watch the proceedings?? somebody would be sure to join you. Thanks to the crew that put this together,,, can't wait for the next time we can make it. Special thanks for Pioneer Motorsports for their input and their involvement without expecting anything in return,,,,, just awesome!!!
  11. Ya if you had stopped on the American side we would have had to pay import duties, and seeing as duty folks would have no idea of both the relics sitting there, (sorry Relic) what they were made of, where they were made, or what they present value would be,,,, hey!!!! you might still be there for the next rally while they argued about value, HST, immigration rights, rights of aliens, sound bites and noise levels, safety of any opposite sex, and whether there would be any available sponsors in Canada. Yep, glad you made it over,,,, our taxes would be going up just to cover the extra cost involved.
  12. So finally an update, hopefully the last one. Done an alignment on the front, installed new sneakers on the front and this past weekend had Pioneer Motorsports check and balance thee rear wheel. Seems the whole bounce issue was a combination of all told. The front end was out of line, right side was toed out which cupped the front tires. Did the alignment and it was a different machine for sure,, not that it was bad before, but the work did make a noticeable difference in the tracking and handling. Still had some bounce,, so,,, I replaced the cupped tires,,, now that again made a difference, but not the total cure,,, so Pioneer was good enough to pull the rear tire, check it for balance, and found it to be out by 1-3\4 oz. Removed all the weights and then need 1.5 oz to balance. Now we are happy campers,,, motelers. During having the work done on my 2014, PMS was good enough to lend me a brand new (700 miles) demo. Same issues there, so I informed Hank the service manager of my opinion, and he thanked me,,,, nice guy,,,, nahh,,,,, REAL NICE guy. Hopefully this ends as it is. Thanks Brenner for your input.
  13. Glad to hear you made it home just fine. Wasn't going to stand there and cook with you,,, you know,,, 2 half-cooked Dutchmen can attract all kinds of splendid things some of which would not be agreeable to the lady standing there waiting for her honorable mate to return without any more half baked ideas.
  14. If you sprayed carb cleaner into the carbs and they all responded except that one, then you have an ignition issue, so change the plug. You msy change it with one from another cylinder, and if your issue moves, you have your answer.
  15. Air ride should not be a real big problem. If you want to fix 2nd gear then the air ride is a minor issue. For second gear you'll have to pull the engine, turn it upside down, remove the pan (bottom end) and do the repair. You'll need new gaskets and the split washer that hold the shaft in place. The gear itself mostly can be repaired, but if not you'll need to figure that into the equation.
  16. looks like between 4 and 5 today if that works out for you.
  17. Hope it works out better for your Mom than it did for Marca's Mom,,,, just across the road eh? hope this thing isn't catching. Marca's mom fell 2 weeks ago, now on heavy antibiotics, blood thinners, and careful watch. Not able to make the trip down for dinner etc, so is being 'nursed' in her room. Yep, hope it's better for your Mom. Blessings. Carl
  18. Pilot jet that I think you are refering to is hidden behind an aluminum cap. Remove the cap and you'll find it. It's on the outside of the carb, facing you as you look at it. Before you go through that effort though, check to make sure there is fuel in the carb by draining it, and\or, by squirting some carb cleaner, WD40 into the throat while it running to see if that cylinder will fire.
  19. You just know you got to wait
  20. Yep today,,, Aug 20th of the 2015 year. Let me know and we'll wait if needed. We're in no rush seeing as this is my only vacation during my holidays while we work on retirement.
  21. Yummie!!!! and hey waiter, can you bring me another???
  22. For us it's looks like we most likely will do an evening run. Leave home about 5 or so, ride through the Peninsula, (Hwy 3, Port Colborne, Fort Erie), grab some supper somewhere, maybe Green Acres around 6:30 or so, to miss Buffalo rush hour and then end up in Chaffee when we get there.
  23. I'm thinking WV would be an great place to go, and have somebody else set it up would be even greater and then if I attend it would be the greatest. Don't get the idea that we have all our ducks in a row up here,,, hey, we got together for ice-cream last night, and when the IC was gone a Wing rode up so the conversation changed. We have some ideas, that's all, nothing put down in stone yet.
  24. Thanks Mike, appreciate your input.
