If you sprayed carb cleaner into the carbs and they all responded except that one, then you have an ignition issue, so change the plug. You msy change it with one from another cylinder, and if your issue moves, you have your answer.

Air ride should not be a real big problem. If you want to fix 2nd gear then the air ride is a minor issue. For second gear you'll have to pull the engine, turn it upside down, remove the pan (bottom end) and do the repair. You'll need new gaskets and the split washer that hold the shaft in place. The gear itself mostly can be repaired, but if not you'll need to figure that into the equation.

Pilot jet that I think you are refering to is hidden behind an aluminum cap. Remove the cap and you'll find it. It's on the outside of the carb, facing you as you look at it. Before you go through that effort though, check to make sure there is fuel in the carb by draining it, and\or, by squirting some carb cleaner, WD40 into the throat while it running to see if that cylinder will fire.

For us it's looks like we most likely will do an evening run. Leave home about 5 or so, ride through the Peninsula, (Hwy 3, Port Colborne, Fort Erie), grab some supper somewhere, maybe Green Acres around 6:30 or so, to miss Buffalo rush hour and then end up in Chaffee when we get there.

I'm thinking WV would be an great place to go, and have somebody else set it up would be even greater and then if I attend it would be the greatest. Don't get the idea that we have all our ducks in a row up here,,, hey, we got together for ice-cream last night, and when the IC was gone a Wing rode up so the conversation changed. We have some ideas, that's all, nothing put down in stone yet.

Hey??? did you read my last post??? I agree the one you quoted was vague, there will be plans, but we plan to leave lots of time for getting together and most things will be optional and not an endurance affair. Got more input,,, input away,,,, we need to hear so that we can accommodate. We will try to please the 'customer' as best as possible.

Forecast at this point is possible heavy rain for Buffalo,,, (we have to go though there right???) late in the day. Guess I'll wait til the morning to decide. Might run out Thursday eve.

I think I'll expand a bit on this: We do not have a venue or plan yet, but here is what we have so far: Looking for some place that has enough rooms, a place for campers, a place to eat, place for campfires, and nice country. Focus is Niagara region, or Muskoka. And Nancy did say we need shower facilities. No prizes etc,, well maybe some mementos, but nothing big or time consuming. Shirts will be looked into,, we're at odds as to exactly how, but I'm sure one of us will be convinced to meet on my side of the middle. lol We don't think we'll do any 'planned' rides but instead provide for things to do, places to go, that would take no more than a total of 4-5 hours, so riding time would be in the less than 3 hr mark. If necessary and desired we would plan to be able to lead whatever rides needed guidance. All rides would be GPS laid out and ready. There would be a 'main meal' with all the hoopla that comes with such an event,,,,, meaning,,,,, we don't know just yet. Days we're thinking about are Tuesday thru Friday in the middle of August, which allows for '3 day' riding before and after for those who need it.

Things are a little iffy maybe. Marca's mom has been taking our attention the last few days, she's 87 and now has a few 'getting older' issues,,, might mean that Marca stays home, and maybe I will accompany her,,, meaning that we're not sure yet what's happening. If I go solo, the QEW would be a choice, if Marca goes with, we will skip the QEW and ride through the center of the penninsula (Hwy#3). Plan though is for Thursday Aft.

Well,,,, I have some news,,, maybe just an update,,,, changed the way the front wheels pointed,, they now point 'in' rather than having the right one point out. Quite a difference in handling,, good improvement, but didn't entirely get rid of bounce, so added some new sneakers to the front,, improved some more,,, but still not as perfect as I would like. Maybe I'm getting too fussy, maybe not,,, gonna take a brand new one on a ride this weekend maybe and see if there is a difference and maybe, just maybe the experts at Pioneer have some input. At this point though,,, quite rideable and enjoyable.

I do believe there are 2 in-line fuses, tucked in behind the left front signal light, one is for constant power the other is switched power.

Air ride only works with the key in the ACC position. If that doesn't work for you then we need more info. Does the control light up and what error codes are you getting. Neutral can be a pain at times, often easier to find from 2nd than from 1st. Try changing the clutch fluid and making sure the clutch is properly bled. If the clutch doesn't release properly it'll be hard to find neutral.

You mean to tell me,,, ya just me,,, that you have no pictures that you versify into this very intriguing story? Look a little harder and make up something,,, I can't wait!!

To replace the coils you'll need to take off the faring, but there are other things that might be your problem so check them first. Could be the ignition wires are shot, not inserted properly or the TCI might not be giving the right signals. Ignition wires can be changed,, all done form the front,, but you'll need small hands and a good dose of patience, remove the front ones, then do the back ones and then finish the front ones,, can be done. If the wires check out, the the TCI might be the culprit, and it's located under the battery box. You could try just cleaning the terminals and that might just do it, or you might have to remove the TCI, open it to check it's condition and if it's just wet, dry it and try it, but if it's corroded it will need to be replaced and then can be relocated to on top of the air box.

It could be some dirt stuck in the valve, so first try to drain the bowl and then let the pump refill it to flush it,,, might work and only takes a little time. If that don't do it, drain the bowl again but this time remove the input line to that carb and shot some carb cleaner into the carb, let it sit for a bit and then flush as you did the first time. If there is still an issue, you'll have to remove the carb. To remove the needle and seat. Remove the staking as best as possible, small screwdriver usually works, drill a small hole through the cap being careful not to go too deep. Get a screw that threads nicely into the hole and long enough that will go through a socket that you will cover the cap with. With a washer under the head of the screw put the screw through the socket and turn it into the hole in the cap (measure to make sure the screw is not too long, just long enough to get into the cap is all you need). As you turn the screw it will lift the cap from the carb. Now carefully remove the screen, it has a plastic collar that holds it onto the seat, and now you can pull the seat out in the same manner as the cap.

I have some preliminary thoughts. Don and I have to get together to hash things over and that is starting to be a problem. My Mother-in-Law is taking up some free time right at the moment,, bad leg after a fall, so lots of trips to get her from here to there. When we do get together, I propose some of the following for discussion. 4-5 day event. Central place to sleep and gather, hopefully a resort that can handle a few outlandish campers. Location to be determined but should be in the Muskoka, Haliburton, Kawartha region. No prizes, no raffles, and everybody gets to make their own shirt. All meals would be self 'serve' when and where you want. There should be an eating place close by. There would be a grand meal for a total get-together. No planned rides, but lots of destinations and things to see and do. Rides would be mapped on GPS for convenience. The place to be chosen should be comfortable, dry in case it rains, cool if it's too hot and large enough not to be too small. I thinking costs will be around the $110 per night mark, plus meals and such. Each pays their own costs as used or consumed. Only extra cost would be the t-shirt thing or something else that might want to be done. just my thoughts for perusing.
