We're working on it, got to fine Saddlebum first to fix a broken hinge on the door. After we get the door swinging then he'll have to decide which way is closed and then see if the lock works. After that it's up to the Fool. Could be a day or two then, haven't seen the Bum around, maybe he's just poking out his nose now. I might have to go down to see him and serve him an early spring coffee to wake him up.

Now is a good time to hook that light back into the circuit to replace the fuse that is blowing. If it light up at this point, then don't plug anything in, keep unplugging as much as you can until it goes out, that includes light bulbs, horn, stator, TCI, anything plugged into the system. Then if it goes out you have the circuit that is giving trouble. If it's out at this point start plugging things back in, and when it lights up you'll know where to start looking. Sorry to make this a long tedious job, but that is the only way to find it.

And yes, Bob is right as usual. There is a probe on that wire, then there should be a resistor and then a connector. You can cut the probe off and then add an end to the wire that can be connected to a switched fuse somewhere, anywhere, just so power can be sensed. Then the light will go off. YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE THE RESISTOR!!!!!!!!!

The battery lead needs to be connected to a power source in order for the red light to go out, but caution!! it needs to have a resistor in the system. Originally the wire had a resistor so all that needs to be done is to fasten it to a power source, but sometimes the resistor is missing and then you can blow your computer, so check it out. The probe senses only 2 volts coming from a good battery. Radio can be removed without any problems. Tire wear, yep, your good in my books.

If I remember correctly, the signal lights are for signal only, I don't remember having them act as markers. So that might be a source. Check how many live wires go to the fixture, there should be 1 live and one ground, the ground being black.

That would be one pretty looking plug in my opinion!

You're right Rick, I was check I did was for a 2nd Gen.

I just checked the other site, says it is a 30 amp fuse, and a spare is located in a similar box almost next to it.

If you want a place to store it, I could find some room maybe. And who was the salesman that wanted a ride so bad?

Sounds to me like you might have blown the cover off of the holder, there is a cover that came with it originally. Not sure of the amperage of that fuse but it will be more tan 15amp. They put a spare in the holder at the factory. If my memory serves me correct, then it's a lead fuse with open inserts at either end offset 90 degree to each other.

I think I get your point, but fact is, it's real good idea to learn how to ride single track before one can really enjoy double-tracking it. Now to double-track properly one needs to have just one more to do it properly. You see, in both cases, 1 and 1 make 2. Am I confused yet?

Trying to remember correctly, when I was at thee point you are at now, I took my small propane torch, not my mini, but a pencil flame, and brought a bit of heat to the tower under the puller, and then it just went pop? I think I had all I could get on that with a 3' bar and the end of my puller is forever changed. Took 3 days of fooling with it, but I never backed it off.

Yeh, I can sympathize with ya, that would be a bummer for sure,,, but then maybe there be a reason, and something else would be on the horizon for you.

This would indicate an air leak. Check the carbs, make sure they are seated properly, and then go around and check again. You'll need to loosen the clamps and it helps to spray a bit of lube on the joints. They not the easiest to seat right and if somebody had them off and apart, it is possible that the carbs were not perfectly flat as they were joined together. If so, then seating them would be almost an impossibility, you get one or two to seat, and then another pops out.

I would start with your battery connections, take them apart and clean them. When you have them off, it's a good time to check the output of the battery, not just the voltage, but the output as well. Then check the fuses to make sure they are all clean and seated well. Also include the engine ground, I believe is on the lower right side coming from the battery. If you don't do this first you could be chasing this gremlin for a long time. Things may look good but you don't really know until you take them apart. Lets us know what happens

Shouldn't be any problem I would think. If you can read instructions and turn a wrench the right way, you're more than half way complete. If you do run into something that gots you worried, just post it here and somebody will help you get into more trouble, kind of more or less, and usually within a day or a couple of hours.

I would say that the monkey who's job it is to move that needle is in need of some warm-up juice. Maybe he's a bit ticked that you get your shot now and then but you leave him out.
