electrical-fuse or what on an 86

I just checked the other site, says it is a 30 amp fuse, and a spare is located in a similar box almost next to it. -
Finally got her home

If you want a place to store it, I could find some room maybe. And who was the salesman that wanted a ride so bad? -

Sounds to me like you might have blown the cover off of the holder, there is a cover that came with it originally. Not sure of the amperage of that fuse but it will be more tan 15amp. They put a spare in the holder at the factory. If my memory serves me correct, then it's a lead fuse with open inserts at either end offset 90 degree to each other. -
I think I get your point, but fact is, it's real good idea to learn how to ride single track before one can really enjoy double-tracking it. Now to double-track properly one needs to have just one more to do it properly. You see, in both cases, 1 and 1 make 2. Am I confused yet?
-
Then there come a time in life, when taking up just one track doesn't seem enough and you realize that the whole lane is there for the taking.

Trying to remember correctly, when I was at thee point you are at now, I took my small propane torch, not my mini, but a pencil flame, and brought a bit of heat to the tower under the puller, and then it just went pop? I think I had all I could get on that with a 3' bar and the end of my puller is forever changed. Took 3 days of fooling with it, but I never backed it off.

Yeh, I can sympathize with ya, that would be a bummer for sure,,, but then maybe there be a reason, and something else would be on the horizon for you.

You best tell us as to why YOU would miss MD. It had better be good!!

OHHHHH my goodness, now my mind has seen everything, and somehow I need to sleep tonight,,,,,, not nice Robert!!!

This would indicate an air leak. Check the carbs, make sure they are seated properly, and then go around and check again. You'll need to loosen the clamps and it helps to spray a bit of lube on the joints. They not the easiest to seat right and if somebody had them off and apart, it is possible that the carbs were not perfectly flat as they were joined together. If so, then seating them would be almost an impossibility, you get one or two to seat, and then another pops out.

I would start with your battery connections, take them apart and clean them. When you have them off, it's a good time to check the output of the battery, not just the voltage, but the output as well. Then check the fuses to make sure they are all clean and seated well. Also include the engine ground, I believe is on the lower right side coming from the battery. If you don't do this first you could be chasing this gremlin for a long time. Things may look good but you don't really know until you take them apart. Lets us know what happens

Shouldn't be any problem I would think. If you can read instructions and turn a wrench the right way, you're more than half way complete. If you do run into something that gots you worried, just post it here and somebody will help you get into more trouble, kind of more or less, and usually within a day or a couple of hours.

I would say that the monkey who's job it is to move that needle is in need of some warm-up juice. Maybe he's a bit ticked that you get your shot now and then but you leave him out.

Ya but,,, isn't there a saying that goes: What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine?

Ahhhh FINALLY we found him, or he found us, glad you is ok bro, it was just kind of strange having you offsite without any notice. Wouldn't have worried none had you not been going through the health issues things. Wasn't too worried about you really, more concerned about Tip in the grand scream of things. Good to have you around, mobile and typeable. I think it's time to move you to a smaller country so you wouldn't be so hard to find.

Worst luck...

Something else you can try, is to take out the faulty fuse and hook a trouble light between the 2 posts of the fuse. Leave the fuse out. Now when you go to use the circuit the light should come on, so you can now fool with the wires while keeping an eye on the light. You'll know you hit the right spot when the light flashes or stays on. -

You wouldn't be the first one to do that, and then find the problem elsewhere. You need to look below the dash, into the triple tree area where the steering head forks move. Bet there is a wire there somewhere that is pinched, but maybe only when the forks are turned, most likely on the right side,, but that is just a guess. You'll need a flashlight and you'll need to get down on your knees. Look from above and below. -
Opps sorry Don, didn't realized that sensitivity thing was back with ya. The rest of us get colds on a regular basis, some even gets bikes now and then, but you have to be blessed with sensitivity,,, must be a burden!

I SURE do like the looks of them, and you ain't so bad either,,,,, I asked my wife for her opinion.

The 2 places I would look first would be in the triple tree and under or around the trunk rack. -
If it were my scoot, I would replace the stator, it's getting dark on the bottom and that usually indicates heat, too much heat and so it looks to be replaced with a newer model. Gears look fine to me, but you could have a starter clutch problem and you can find that by removing the flywheel, that's the bolt you are asking about. Removing the bolt is the easy part, just turn it off with an impact, then comes the funner part, getting that hunk of metal to jump into a basket. SO! Remove bolt and store for later use, you will need to keep that hunk of metal in place later. Find a good solid puller, not a 2 point, needs to be a 3 point attach, squeeze it on tight making sure it is level, put a basket infront of the whole business with some rags insatlled, squeeze on the puller some more (I had a 2' bar on mine) and then using a solid piece of metal, I used a hammer, slap that silly thing right on the nut. Stand back, because if it lets go it come out of there in a hurry, might even take a day or two. I'm not sure what would happen if you applied some heat in the process, but I might be inclined to add that in if I were to make another attempt at it. Now you can see what shape your starter clutch is in because it will be right there in the basket for you to look at. Good Luck!
