I made it home just fine as well, about 6 or so, forgot to look and remember. I didn't post any sooner because I wanted to leave room for the rest of you fine folks to do so first. We only got rained on in the Peninsula, and that was only so that we would be nice and clean when we got home,,,, not my fault that Bob hogged the shower and used up all the hot water. Met some wonderful people, I would mention the new ones I met, but either they forgot to tell me who they were or I forgot what they said, either way, it was not for lack of asking on my part eh!? Now that I think of it, I even re-met some and can't remember who they were\are, but they were nice!!! No Robin it wasn't you, and Yamah-Momma it wasn't you either! Time for MORE HUGS!! Just so that everybody is perfectly clear on this subject, Adam was not an American!! Now it would be nice if you two fellas would kiss and make up, I have no idea idea what it is you two are arguing over, it all makes no difference on a Spyder for when you twist the throttle, it's gone!! and that's what counts. I have a slightly used MicMute set, used on my Spyder. It worked as it said it would, so it's not broke, but we have decided to go a different route that I will post once I get it working peachiekeen. In the meantime, the MicMutes will be in may saddlebag on the way to MD, so if your interested in it let me know.

All I had to rim was the rim closest to center, the rim that keeps or is supposed to keep your hand from going up the grip too far.

I would suggest that the black you see is from overfilling the crankcase with oil. Only fill the crankcase to half ways up the site glass or it will suck the oil into the breather and create lots of problems. As far as the carbs are concerned? The hardest part of taking them to the cleaners is getting the cables off and on, the rest is time consuming but not real hard. I would take them off and clean them. I would suggest strongly to get new gaskets and rubber plugs. Somethings to be aware of as you do this. Loosen the cables as much as possible at the top end. Loosen all 4 clamps on the intake boots and then use a large screwdriver to pry them off. Watch close the routing off the return cable so that you know where it goes during re-assmble, it will fool you. Pay close attention to the order of parts on the fuel enrichment shaft. When you rejoin the carbs be sure you do this on a perfectly flat surface. Need more help, just ask.
