  1. Our routes will cross around Elizabethtown north of Franklin. Not sure whether we leave Thursday or Friday.
  2. I'm with Tyler on that one. They're rotor buttons around here.
  3. Add WD-40 and a big effin hammer and you have the top of the line Ky toolbox. Funny story when my oldest was small my wife was in a fender bender that tore off the bumper cover. Next week we were going to a dr 4 hrs away and the car overheated. Found that without the cover a plastic piece would fold down in the wind and block the radiator. Using the line out of a Barbie fishing pole in the trunk I tied the flap down and finished the trip. Ya should've seen the body shop guys face when he asked me what the fishing line was for. His response was to say "Only in Ky, and was I out of duct tape".
  4. This reminds me of my teenage years, a $300 car with a $500 tool box and spare parts in the trunk.
  5. KY is move over OR slow down. With our narrow roads here it is a life saver. I've been grazed with a boat trailer working a wreck scene when people fly through. We usually park a fire engine in the lane next to the scene as a barrier to keep from getting hit. Away from the interstates we have narrow to no shoulders on our roads, we have to do what we can for our own safety. If it pisses somebody off to slow down or stop while we work to get injured people out they can get happy later. My guys and I want to go home in one piece at the end of the day.
  6. Prayers up for Dan, the Woods family, and those riding in today. Travel safe.

Oops. Sorry, off my 07 RSV. I thought I changed my profile to show that bike.

I have a set of slash cut somethings I took off mine because I like factory. I'll try to post pics tomorrow if somebody could use em. Too loud for me and the boss. They have mounts with them.
  9. I haven't found my Yamaha toolbox. Did find a little bag with a few wrenches, screwdriver, etc in the saddlebag. I updated my navigation system yesterday though, Walmart had a sale on a Rand McNally atlas. While I was there I grabbed some antifreeze and a few blank cassettes to update the infotainment system too. Thanks for the info though, I'll look again.
  10. I've been thinking of the same idea if anybody is coming in from the south or south east. We'll probably run the slabs going up on Friday. Most likely run I71 out of Louisville all the way. If anybody else running that way we could link up.
  11. I would be glad to contribute also. I can't get away Saturday, somebody explain to me how someone I never met had enough influence to make me want to ride 8hrs to his memorial. I deal with death in my line of work pretty regularly but Dan's passing got to me.
  12. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?493-CLASS-E4-Error-Repair This is under 1st gen tech read only library.
  13. Bring her down this way, we'll shack her up with a 1st gen. Might get some offspring with current technology AND a V4 water cooled power plant that'll knock yer socks off. Might turn the touring world upside down. Cassette player optional of course. :witch_brew:
  14. Is that 25 hanging on a 1st or 2nd gen?
  15. There are instructions in the read only library to make them. Fairly easy.
  16. So those of us who have both 1st and 2nd gens have a 2-1 advantage of these 3genners right? That's how I read it. :witch_brew:
  17. It'll be a short search. The smart guys will be here soon.
  18. I'd post this in the 2nd gen section. If 5th is the only gear not working I think it'd be internal transmission. I've never been in the Venture tranny, there's plenty here that can help better than I can.
  19. Will it not shift to 5th or shifts and quits pulling?
  20. Prayers for Dan and his family. I was really looking forward to meeting him at MD. I never met him but had a good time bantering back and forth over basketball. I owe him a cup of coffee from a basketball bet that I was looking forward to settling. RIP Dan.
  21. Yep. And everybody automatically believes you know what you're doing with a stethoscope hanging around your neck.
  22. I use a HF cheap stethoscope to find leaks. Pull the probe out of the hose and move the hose around all the joints. You'll hear the smallest of leaks. I use that to isolate ticks and noises from engines too. You can find where all the noises come from.
  23. It shouldn't be too hard. From what I've heard there are people over in the eastern part of the state that cash social security checks and vote every election 10-15 years after their obituary was published. If they can do that a drivers license should be a piece of cake.
