  1. I’d love to help with the testing @cowpuc but as good as the deal is I’m gonna pass on it. The fact I have a 13 year old bike that I don’t mind riding in the rain or feel the need to keep polished up and looking showy is right up my alley. If I buy a new one I’ll worry about keeping it perfect instead of just riding. I feel the same way about my trucks, I can work em hard and earn a few scratches without hurting my feelings.
  2. I like the Jeep acronym. I didn’t buy an off-road unit, it’s a low mileage 15 Cherokee. I bought one new in 18 for the wife and my youngest fell in love with it. She is starting college in a couple weeks 4 hrs from home and it was time to upgrade her car. I’m a firm believer a 16yo needs what I consider a disposable car, they usually get torn up anyway. Hers was an 08 Avenger that she took good care of so we got her something newer and nicer.
  3. Hey Rich that is something I’ve thought about for years but never did. Google Joe Keeslar, he’s a well known knife maker worldwide and lives a few miles from me. I ran around with one of his sons some back in the day and seen some of his stuff firsthand. Unbelievable.
  4. The secret is to connect the bottles with a hose that reaches the bottom of both bottles and the carbs to hoses that reach just past the stoppers. Only use 3/4 of a bottle of fluid, no matter how off you are it can’t suck it in the carbs. I use about a foot of small diameter hose for an orifice on each hose going to the carbs. It’s not that I can’t buy a Carb Tune I’m just stubborn enough to use my creation. Yeah I’m one of those guys but it works for me.
  5. My first impulse was to just buy it over the phone today. The more I think about it I really don’t need it. I’m a major technophobe and that bike is loaded with technology. Barring a major component breakdown I can fix my 07 on the road with a few tools, not so when you need a computer/scanner to diagnose it. I like the V4 water cooled engine and you can’t beat an RSV seat so I’m probably gonna pass. The money won’t break me but I just bought a Jeep last week and we’re starting a new house next month so the $$ can be better spent elsewhere. I haven’t told the wife yet so we’ll see how that goes.
  6. I haven’t done it yet. They’re calling me Tuesday morning for an answer, I’ll either put a deposit on it then or bow out. The wife says buy it, I’m on the fence. They’re closed Monday, I can’t go until Wednesday. Bike with tax, title, license, fees out the door is $13,700 based on KY taxes. The 07 only has 61000 on the clock and only costs gas n tires to ride. I can buy lots of gas for 13,700. It’s a holdover, not used so full warranty. Decisions Decisions!!!!!
  7. Ok I called, it’s an 18 base not TC. If I can get off work Tuesday I’m going for it.
  8. I’m still in the @cowpuc camp on these but dang it’s tempting.
  9. They closed their plant here a few months ago. One of the largest if not the largest employer we had in town.
  10. Guess I’m old. I use two Snapple bottles, rubber stoppers, clear tubing, and dyed water.
  11. We don’t have any freeways here but some locals with firearms convinced some out of town protesters our statue wasn’t to be messed with this past weekend.
  12. I found Edsets easy to deal with and good service. Mine has worked well, hope you have similar experience.
  13. After a pretty lazy recovery day I’m almost back to normal. Thanks to all that put the rally together and the campground team. I had a good time. Even though the virus put the kibosh on a lot of activities it was fun, we had more time to sit and visit. Missed the ones that couldn’t make it and hope next year is back to normal.
  14. And yes the digital needles do jump, mine has since I’ve had it.
  15. Made it home at 8:45. Other than the sun fried arms the trip home was uneventful. I’m only 185 miles short of another Saddlesore ride but I think I’ll pass on it.
  16. Well I can’t post pics from my IPhone. Guess it doesn’t matter since I usually don’t take any. Been a good time, lots of stories(some even true) and a ton of Carl bashing since you’re not here. Not gonna mention what Robin has been up to. Oh yeah, the hot sex around the campfire was great.
  17. Wiz and I just had this conversation a few minutes ago. Keep us updated after a few rides. I have no intention of going back to a MC tire.
  18. I have the Edsets cable with IMC headsets. I had the 550 Garmin and it all worked fine. Freebird is right on the Mic Mutes. I did have a problem with a 3.5mm cable from the GPS to the splitter.
  19. Check your iPhone, under settings, privacy, health. Any that updated recently had a Covid tracker installed. On Androids it’s under the google if I remember correctly.
  20. Coming through Ohio doesn’t bother me at all. I just wasn’t sure if y’all could make it. I’m heading out tomorrow to Lexington and up your way Thursday.
  21. Dang, my plan was to meet up with Rich and maybe Don in Ohio to travel in together. This may throw a wrench in it. Last thing I need is to be kidnapped for two weeks in NY. As of now KY doesn’t seem to be on the list.
  22. Well if Big Tom will have a pot on Thursday when I get there it’ll be about 800 miles.
  23. Just don’t lay on the horn before it goes bump. 2-1/2 years ago a 3/4 ton ford pulled out in front of my wife, with no way to miss it she hit the horn. An airbag deploys at speeds even a 1st gen can’t match and will break the bones in front of it, broke both bones in her arm, one in her hand, and left her with lifelong pain and reduced usage of that hand.
  24. I have my cable out right now since I broke the GPS mount. I’m looking at Edsets Bluestreak that integrates the phone by Bluetooth. The only holdup is I’m cheap and they tell me I have to use their headsets for it to work correctly. I have a Bluetooth audio receiver to stream music, I just don’t want to spend $700 to get the phone calls back. I could buy another cheap GPS for it but want less jumble on the bars.
  25. Beats the heck outta ours. 93,95 96 high humidity and heat index over 100.
