  1. Wife and I rode 125 mile Memorial Day ride.
  2. Don’t take difference of opinion personal here, it’s a large group and diverse thought process. Some choose somber remembrance of those who gave their lives while others celebrate the lives given in ultimate sacrifice. I never served Due to a spinal injury but have tremendous respect for those who have. I choose to reflect on my grandfather from WW1, cousins in Vietnam, BIL from Korean War, and friends from many conflicts. While they didn’t fall in battle many have slowly fallen from the effects suffered there. I spent some time this morning thinking of BongoBob and the reality he probably died from Vietnam just last summer. Later today we’ll get the bike out and visit our local park that has memorials for every war the US has been a part of including the names of every local resident who didn’t come home.
  3. Depends on your definition of close. I’m only 1023 miles away :moon:
  4. There are several members in the area of the reservation. They tell me if you come bearing ice cream they’ll come out to meet you.
  5. The sensor reads the ring gear. No change.
  6. The speed discrepancy is normal, changing the gearing doesn’t change the speedo. You can get a Speedo Healer or Speedodrd to adjust it. I use the DRD because it’s cheaper, they both work well.
  7. I never use a pressure washer anywhere near my bike. It will inject water in electrical and in bearings. Bad things happen.
  8. Dang, you sucked me in. I thought we were going to Krispy Kreme for a meet and greet.
  9. You can but a 3.5 mm signal splitter or I use an Amplirider for multiple inputs.
  10. I think it’s different by state. I remember one part was I swore to have never fought in a duel. That’s the only part I remember after nearly 30 years, that was as a deputy jailer. It didn’t take me long to figure out law enforcement wasn’t for me, way too high tempered to be cussed or spit at.
  11. For anybody interested, if I understand what research I’ve done the FJR has the same gears as a VMax and on Ebay are 1/3-1/2 price of the VMax pumpkin. I just ordered an FJR pumpkin for $55.
  12. One of those was me. My phone locked up as soon as I entered chat. I figured Carl was in there tearing stuff up.
  13. I’ve talked to John, thinking I may just mill in the speed sensor in a VMax pumpkin.
  14. Does anybody know what years the VMax final drives fit the RSV?
  15. I haven’t done mine yet but I talked to John about it a couple months ago. He’s done several for members here.
  16. It’s not a direct swap. The VMax pumpkin doesn’t have the speed sensor in it. You either have to swap the gears or mill the hole in the pumpkin for the sensor.
  17. (610)509-8629 John Furber. He will do a swap or send yours in and he’ll re-gear it and send it back.
  18. If I don’t use gas I substitute Wal Mart carb cleaner for starting fluid. Much less volatile so less chance of engine damage.
  19. I’m burning more gas than ever. My truck and wife’s jeep still going about every day. Since she’s only working 1/2 days and I work every third day we’ve been going to the lake a lot burning boat gas. My daughter however hasn’t filled up in over a month, she’s going with mom to mom’s classroom and doing her work while mom does hers. I am enjoying the cheap fill ups though, filled the bike for $8.00 with alcahol free.
  20. Or some RSV cam tools or steering head wrenches or a new add on farkel we’ve never seen or or or........... Sorry to hear about the job situation. Since I ride one of those fire trucks y’all are talking about I’m considered either essential or expendable, not sure which. With all this going on we’ve stopped doing medical calls and leaving them to the ambulance service. Our run numbers fell for a while but with so many people home our house fires have dramatically increased. I’m really concerned if this doesn’t end soon we’ll end up with fires from people behind financially.
  21. No problem. I didn’t get by there Monday anyway. Glad you got in touch with them.
  22. Been feeling too guilty to ride during the shutdown. Leaving the wife and daughter sitting home bored seems wrong, taking the wife and leaving the daughter alone is worse. They went to town yesterday to do some schoolwork so I jumped on and ran the Trace through Land Between the Lakes and had a blast. I stumbled on a lady traveling from S Cali to Vermont in a small truck pulling a 5th wheel camper who couldn’t find a place to park the camper for a few days for some R&R and was having trouble with her Honda generator to boot. I helped her with the generator and a Park Ranger found her a camp spot so it wasn’t wasted time. That got me behind in getting home so now I’m in the doghouse for riding without the marm on the pillion.
  23. I’ll try to run by the shop Monday and see if they’re closed for the Covid stuff going on. They’re usually pretty good with customer service.
  24. You should be able to email Hanningan Motorsports and get some answers. They are headquartered here in town and as far as I know in operation.
