  1. For anybody interested, if I understand what research I’ve done the FJR has the same gears as a VMax and on Ebay are 1/3-1/2 price of the VMax pumpkin. I just ordered an FJR pumpkin for $55.
  2. One of those was me. My phone locked up as soon as I entered chat. I figured Carl was in there tearing stuff up.
  3. I’ve talked to John, thinking I may just mill in the speed sensor in a VMax pumpkin.
  4. Does anybody know what years the VMax final drives fit the RSV?
  5. I haven’t done mine yet but I talked to John about it a couple months ago. He’s done several for members here.
  6. It’s not a direct swap. The VMax pumpkin doesn’t have the speed sensor in it. You either have to swap the gears or mill the hole in the pumpkin for the sensor.
  7. (610)509-8629 John Furber. He will do a swap or send yours in and he’ll re-gear it and send it back.
  8. If I don’t use gas I substitute Wal Mart carb cleaner for starting fluid. Much less volatile so less chance of engine damage.
  9. I’m burning more gas than ever. My truck and wife’s jeep still going about every day. Since she’s only working 1/2 days and I work every third day we’ve been going to the lake a lot burning boat gas. My daughter however hasn’t filled up in over a month, she’s going with mom to mom’s classroom and doing her work while mom does hers. I am enjoying the cheap fill ups though, filled the bike for $8.00 with alcahol free.
  10. Or some RSV cam tools or steering head wrenches or a new add on farkel we’ve never seen or or or........... Sorry to hear about the job situation. Since I ride one of those fire trucks y’all are talking about I’m considered either essential or expendable, not sure which. With all this going on we’ve stopped doing medical calls and leaving them to the ambulance service. Our run numbers fell for a while but with so many people home our house fires have dramatically increased. I’m really concerned if this doesn’t end soon we’ll end up with fires from people behind financially.
  11. No problem. I didn’t get by there Monday anyway. Glad you got in touch with them.
  12. Been feeling too guilty to ride during the shutdown. Leaving the wife and daughter sitting home bored seems wrong, taking the wife and leaving the daughter alone is worse. They went to town yesterday to do some schoolwork so I jumped on and ran the Trace through Land Between the Lakes and had a blast. I stumbled on a lady traveling from S Cali to Vermont in a small truck pulling a 5th wheel camper who couldn’t find a place to park the camper for a few days for some R&R and was having trouble with her Honda generator to boot. I helped her with the generator and a Park Ranger found her a camp spot so it wasn’t wasted time. That got me behind in getting home so now I’m in the doghouse for riding without the marm on the pillion.
  13. I’ll try to run by the shop Monday and see if they’re closed for the Covid stuff going on. They’re usually pretty good with customer service.
  14. You should be able to email Hanningan Motorsports and get some answers. They are headquartered here in town and as far as I know in operation.
  15. I use a Ram mount that mounts on the brake handle clamp.
  16. It doesn’t list VIN but if somebody here is interested I can go look at it. We’re a small town, it can’t be very far from me. https://www.vci-classifieds.com/
  17. Wow, he’s evidently kept that hidden well. In the small town of Murray and I’ve never seen it.
  18. Mine hasn’t been rebuilt but it’s groaning a little so Im sure it’s coming. How’s the Sexy II Timer coming along?
  19. What am I picking and choosing? Published medical records say 80% of infected people will show mild to no symptoms. The only people being tested right now are those showing a high risk of having the virus. There is a less than 2% fatality rate of positive tested people in the US. Common sense tells that there is a large number of people with the virus are not being tested since they show no symptoms. Therefore the 2% fatality rate is not a number to use to estimate death unless every person is infected. That is like saying 1% (made up # since I don’t know) of American bikers will crash and then saying 1% of Americans will crash even though the majority will never ride a bike.
  20. Yeah the 2% sucks but when you compare it to the different flu strains, alcohol deaths, tobacco, obesity, diabetes, etc it does take on a different view. While I’m a lucky person with a strong immune system, I refuse to live in fear. If I did I’d quit riding bikes, running boats and fishing and a lot of other things I do. We’ve had several deaths this year on our local lakes but no virus deaths on this end of the state yet. Another thing to think about is the 2% is of confirmed cases, very few are being tested so the true number of cases is actually much higher therefore the fatality percentage will be much lower than 2%. 80% of those who have it show light if any symptoms so how many of those get tested?
  21. Hands down the RSV is more comfortable for me. Two hours on a wing and my knees kill me. I’ve done multiple 17-18 hr days on the Venture. RSV is easier to work on and extremely durable.
  22. Don’t buy the cheap ebay gaskets. Get OEM or you’ll be doing it again.
  23. 80* and sunny around here finally. It’s rained so much the last month the grass floats above the ground. Took the wife n daughter fishing yesterday, ate the results last night. Got the Venture out today and ran 150 miles so all good. There are only two cases of the virus here at our hospital so we’re not hibernating too much. Next on list is to follows DJs lead and purge the house and shop.
  24. You’ve managed to find an old thread. Look on left side between the stator cover and middle gear cover. Clutch bleeder is under the little square rubber cover.
