  1. I have the '88 standard. I have been told by many that there was no 88 standard. But the manufacture date was September or October of 87 so it might just be a leftover 87 that was rebadged to an 88.
  2. It is a shame too. When HID Country first opened they were great to do business with. I bought 7 HIDs from them and they are all still working perfect.
  3. I even still have my RUM ball recipe.......
  4. I plan to make it this year. I was at your first and it was a great time. I am still bummed that I missed last year. Here is the link to the calendar http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=391&day=2014-6-28&c=1
  5. That is the line I was thinking. When the bike sits for several days and you turn on the ignition but do not try to start it, is the clock still right? Does the clock then reset when you start it? If the clock is right before you hit the starter, that means that the voltage is dropping way down while cranking. This could be a battery issue, or a dirty connector issue, or something that is still drawing the battery down issue. I am kind of leaning to an issue in the clock. On my 1st gen the battery can be low enough that it will not turn the bike over but it does not bother the clock.
  6. It looks like hydraulic surge brakes. I have been considering adding electric brakes to my trailer.
  7. If you are replacing head gaskets then the shims are real easy, you can do them while the heads are off.
  8. Careful, you could end up with a bunch of us in your swimming pool ......... It might not be a purdy sight to have all those speedos there.......

  10. OH OH!!! Don't let Big Tom see this. He will find a way to get the same ailment to get the ice cream treatment. Glad you are home and doing well, Now remember to do what the docs tell ya.
  11. Your son is going to get spoiled with having a free chauffeur.
  12. I just hope all of the problems you have are this easy to fix.
  13. I shoot around 8,000 rounds a year. ~80% of what I shoot is reloads. ALL of the misfires and jams that I have had over the last 30 years have been with factory ammo. I have never yet had a single reload not perform as expected. I do use only quality components. Until now I have never heard of anyone trying to reload aluminum cases.
  14. If you let us know what you plan to reload we can make better recommendations. As mentioned, once you find a bullet and recipe you like, stock up. I reload everything I shoot except 22LR.
  15. If you actually want to charge an RV battery in a reasonable amount of time, you will need a lot of big panels. I had a 2.5 watt solar panel on my RV that would keep the battery topped up and ready to go at a moments notice. It could recharge the battery if you had a month to wait. I simply placed it on the roof and had a connector to plug it in under the RV out of the weather. The only time it was not on the roof and plugged in was while traveling down the road. If you want to put a significant amount of charge back into the battery in a day you will need a 45 watt or bigger system. something like this. If this is in full sun and kept pointed right at the sun you will get about 3.5 amps to charge your battery. Even at 3.5 amps it can take a couple of days to charge a depleted RV battery.
  16. Hmmmm....... When I did mine I only had to pull the right muffler to get it apart. BUT I then had to pull the left muffler to get a torque wrench on the nut while putting it back together.
  17. Its official; CHRISTMAS HAS BEEN CANCELED! Apparently YOU told Santa that you have been GOOD!!! He died laughing!!!

  22. In the USA all GM cars have onstar. the police can contact onstar to send a signal to the car that will cause the engine to drop to an idle. this way the driver does not lose steering or power brakes, but the car will go no more than a fast walking speed. onstar can do this whether you have subscribed or not. onstar does not work in most foreign countries. Other car companies are now coming out with their own versions of onstar with similar capabilities. It has already been proven that the system can be hacked to lock or unlock doors, just a matter of time till hackers can start or stop the engine to.
  23. I used one of those manual ones once. All of the pumping required was more work that using a good splitting maul.
