  1. Leaving me with two other brake systems.
  2. That's basely what I did.
  3. Didn't get them that hot. Backing plates were only warm when I was finished. Some people throw them in the BBQ grill to clean them.
  4. Last summer, I noticed the foot brake not being very effective. A couple of months ago I saw oil dripping on the floor off of the fork and realized what was going on. So, last week, I cleaned the fork and wheel with ether. I got my Seal Mate out and worked on the leaky fork. Then I removed the brake pads, which were almost new and oily. They don't wear much when they're oily. Clamped them up side down in the vise and took a propane torch to them. Flame only on the pads. When they got hot, the oil started running off of them and then started burning. When they seemed oil free, I removed them. They didn't seem very hot. Reinstalled them and have been riding last three days. Braking action has returned and the fork is oil free so far. Hope it lasts.
  5. I've never had it apart. Looking at the parts list, there doesn't seem to be adjustment. I would take it apart and try to clean any oil and grease off. Mine has never been a problem.
  6. Yes, I always end up talking to my scoot when I'm working on it.
  7. Maybe your computer doesn't like you. Talk nice to it.
  8. Bingo, we have a winner.
  9. Somebody pointed me to HitmanPro 3, it's free for thirty days. Found a bunch of crap that my other programs missed. HitmanPro 3 (32-bit) - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com
  10. You need something like this. Pico Pin Extraction Tools 0660PT - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing
  11. Back in the CB days, it was hard to pick a handle that somebody else didn't have. When I first got on the internet (Thank you Al Gore) I wanted to pick a user name that was unique. Since I'm from Kansas, the land of Dorothy and Toto ( Wizard of Oz) I picked Ozlander.
  12. Sounds like a loose connection or a bad solder joint.
  13. It also keeps the water out when you ride in a down pour.
  14. I would swap the pads around. Put a thicker one where a thin one is now. Try to equalize the wear.
  15. I would plug your boards into a CLASS that works. Then you'd know if it's the board or the bike. Look for any sockets in the bike connector that might be pushed back.
  16. I think he said that if he lets up on the throttle, it will rev to 6000. And he had to go someplace and will be back.
  17. When I need a battery, I go to the closest Walmart. If it doesn't have a hole for the probe (some do, some don't) I drill a 3/8" hole in one of the center cells and RTV the probe in. Been doing it for years. Their batteries are cheep and if I have to buy another one in three or four years, so what.
  18. Here's how I fixed mine. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/Ozlander/BrakePedalzerk.jpg
  19. Do you think the 131203a_tcip4A_v88.exe is what fixed it? Where can I get a copy? Merlyn
  20. Gary, Is 121107c_tcip4A_v88 the latest program? And what is the latest part number for the TCI? I would buy a new one if I thought they had fixed the IAP glitch. Merlyn
  21. I do it all the time. Never had a problem.
  22. Either would be good for a trailer tire.
  23. As I remember, it's been a while, but it kind of goes in up side down and kind of tips into place. And when it goes, you wonder what the problem was.
  24. Well, maybe it'll filter the sand out.
