  1. Good news folks ! I was able the get one of the "stripped Hex screws" out by cutting off the head with a dremal, applying some heat and then working "hard" with sears easy-out.. The othe screw decided that it wasn't "going out that way".. So I ended up using 1/4" colbalt drill bit with a 8mm-1.25 tap to get that one out
  2. Thanks all Can always depend on folks from this site to pitch in and help I'm going to try the drill and tap procedure out today and let everyone know the outcome.. I beleive worse case senario would be that I'll need to go to a bigger screw.. Thanks all 06 RSTD
  3. Thanks silvrT ! I thought about drilling it out but I didn't want to "screw" up the threads. That being said, I guess it could be re-tapped ? This is sounding like I should leave this up to the experts.. Anybody had this problem before? If so how did you solve it ? Deacon 06 RSTD
  4. Ok folks, I need some help.. I just got my set of passenger Highway pegs from Diamond R Accessories for the Misses.. I attemped to remove the rear Hex screw and ended up stripping the head, so I got out my "easy outs". Well the heads of the factory screws are pretty soft and the easy out just ate into it.. Ok now I'm getting a bit pissed off so I get a extractor bit and drilled a pilot hole and try it.. NO LUCK !! My question is, wha't my next course of attack ?? Thanks 06 RSTD
  5. Kromewerk's slip-ons werk's for me Not too loud and deep sound.. 06 RSTD
  6. Man i'm a bit pissed off at Yamaha ! Just went to their site to look at the 2010 RSV and the only thing that it looks like they changed is the color I was so hoping that they would increase the engine output and go to FI. They need to catch up our they may lose the market share they've got now! I wanted to turn my 06 RSTD to a solo ride and purchase the RSV for when my better half rides with me. Oh well, maybe next year Deacon 2006 Midnight RSTD
  7. SWEET Dang, the khromewerks don't sound bad at all !! Anyone got a RK SByte ? Man, I love this site Deacon 06 RSTD
  8. Outstanding I read somewhere that you needed to do some metal cutting and spot wielding in order for the RK's to fit... I'm going to search around to find a "khromewerks sound byte". But it sounds like the RK's are what I'm looking for.. I'm going to visit the nearest Harley dealer to see if I can pickup a set of RK muffler's on the cheap ! Thanks 1sttenor, For the "bracket Link" I'll be getting a pair.. "If I can locate a set of RK's" Deacon 06 RSTD
  9. Thanks Tom BTW, are those ones that you can purchase multiple tip styles ? I've also got the Quadzilla fairing on my RSTD. Do you think I'll still be able to hear my music "at neighborhood cruising speeds" ? Deacon 06 Midnight RSTD
  10. Riders, I know this topic has been beaten to death but I need to know "from the last related posting" what is the majority of members using for after market mufflers I don't have the metel knowledge to make mods that installing the "road king" mufflers would take.. I don't want LOUD, but I do want that deep rumble sound that will let cagers know I'm there.. Bubs ? " Do the sleepers still have the crome tip issue? Kromeworks ? etc etc Help a fellow rider out 06 RSTD THanks
  11. Ok, after viewing a few segments of the video, finding an empty shopping ctr parking lot, and practicing the meneuvers I'm now able to (with confidence) perform the circle completely locked out. In both directions It did take me approx 1.5 hours to get the meneuver down pat though.. Also I'm running on ME 880's and in the beggining, it seemed like my tires were not tracking well. I checked the air pressure and sure enough they both were low. After making that correction, it was much easier to accomplish my goal.. So CHECK YOUR TIRE PRESSURE !! This video should be in every bikers collection RLAP ver. 5
  12. I think i'll add a set of krome werks slip-ons with turn down tips this month and because I heard they hava a lower/deeper and they 're less loud then the BUBS. AND THAT IT !!...........................................................Until next month
  13. My BAD. the colors did change of course..
  14. Yamaha has released the 2009 RSV and RSTD models and not a dam thing has changed. No upgrade in the sound system, no FI, no increase in HP etc.. Oh well I guess I'll be keeping my 2006 RSTD with the newly purchased mustang seat..
  15. Nothing for the RSTD there.. Anyone else using a back rest with the stock seat ??
  16. Thanks Vipermax.. I'll check it out.. It's hard to believe there's not many third party driver back rest out there for the RSTD.
  17. I'm looking for a back rest that will go with a 06 RSTD stock seat.. I know the mustang seats are good but I didn't want to spend 600+ for one. "Unless I don't have a choice" Anyone have or know of a Back rest for the RSTD ?? Thanks In advance
  18. Please disregard my last email.. I going to http://www.ridelikeapro.com and buy the damn thing.. THanks
  19. OK, Although I'm about 129th on the list, I'm also intrested in viewing the dvd. Passing it now afterwards of course:900[1]:
  20. I also ride with my highway lights on all the time.. Riding motorcycles is a past time for some and a life style for other. What ever the case, we all need to incorporate risk management in our activity. Hell I even installed caliper lights. Deacon
  21. Great Pics man Thanks
  22. Hey All I was looking at the Diamond R Saddle bag light bar for my 06 RSTD.. Has anyone installed these lights and if so, whats your take on them ? THanks
  23. Hey Thanks Paul Your comment was appreciated...BTW, I've also added air to the front shocks and did feel "uneasy" diff in the cornering...
  24. All, I'm thinking about trading my 06 RSTD for a 07 RSV(blue & Black)..I'm question is does anyone feel that the RSV is "TOP HEAVY" due to the fairing? Is there a BIG diff in the handling ? Any feed back would be appciated....BTW, It's hard to get a dealer to let me test ride one here in Chicago Illinois THanks All Deacon
