  1. Maybe double check where the airbox connects to the carbs also. My old 83 was finicky and required fine tuning to get the clamps on correctly and sealed well.
  2. Very cool. A lot more manual labor that I expected to see. I loved the Shinkos I ran on my 83.
  3. My guess is your battery is on it's way out. I own a Goldwing, not quite as new as yours, but on the Goldwing Forums it seems whenever there is an electrical glitch and the battery is 3 or more years, it always is the culprit.
  4. Ever wonder how people make a degree sign. Say 32° is freezing, or ↑ or ↓ or → etc. Say for the degree sign, after you type 32, you hold the alt button, and type 0176 (with the number key pad on the right side of keyboard) and let go of the alt button. ° bam ♣ alt 5, ≥ alt 242 , Here is a link to the codes and symbols you might want https://www.alt-codes.net/ or another site I like better https://www.rapidtables.com/code/text/alt-codes.html
  5. Thanks Fool, I considered buying a better snow thrower, glad I didn't. Nothing but flakes in Indy as well We are in a deep freeze though, I'm thankful for my remote start on my truck 🥰
  6. First start of the spring, my 83 was very temperamental to start. I found that a charged battery, remove the air filter cover, a squirt of starting fluid in each carb (aka ether), boom it always started. I would quickly add the air box lid and snug the bolts. I also never choked it until after it was started, and never twisted on the throttle until after it was started.
  7. The Venture, newer or older will be a big step up from your scooter. That said, after 25 years of not riding, I purchased an older Venture and adapted easily. I suggest you test out a few different models. The Venture sure has a reputation for reliability. I wanted to upgrade from my older Venture (83') and stay with a water cooled bike. I could not gather to like the newer Ventures, feet forward controls and I am one to wear shorts while riding and there is too much hot chrome parts on them for my liking. I crossed the fence to a Goldwing F6B and find it a good fit for my style. $$ wise, you will get more bike for way less money with a Venture.
  8. If you do this, please post pictures. 🥰 Be safe.
  9. I sure wouldn't do it in windy conditions 😏
  10. Cool old van, it will be tough to turn a 88 van into a 70s hot rod van 🙃. Non the less, impressive condition, enjoy.
  11. Thanks for the update. The good Lord is at your side. Prayers for a safe and speedy procedure and recovery.
  12. Only thing I might add, the first thing I do is suck the fluid in the reservoir out with a turkey baster and start off with a filled clean fluid reservoir. and If you happen to get air in your line and it simply does not want to play nicely, I would tie the clutch lever to the handlebar and let it sit overnight. Those air bubbles love to rise and disappear overnight. Good luck, changing my fluid is on my to do list as well.
  13. The man upstairs said it wasn't your day. Glad you lived to tell the story. When I was 20 years old, I had an eye opening experience while at a college gathering, bumped another bike on a turn in the hills while racing, I literally saw a white light, very vivid in my mind to this day. I came home, sold my bike (XS1100 special) and didn't ride another bike for 25 years.
  14. Just jack the prices up like your competition has to. Here in the states, inflation is the highest it has been since 1982. People are not getting raises at the same rate. Things are going to get ugly real soon.
  15. Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new ride. Others will be along shortly that are much smarter than I, as my previous ride was an older model than yours. That said, seems over the years I have seen this type of issue and it is related to the ignition switch. You might do some searching in the forum on second generation ignition switch. Good luck.
  16. My pc says it does not have the resources to run Windows 11. I'll have to wait.
  17. I just don't think my wife would do it, been 20+ years since we slept on the ground. I hope that my next camper fits my M/C in the back.
  18. Prayers up Freebird, #1 important thing is your health and family. I recently crossed the line to a F6B, love the bike, I just couldn't do the feet forward thing with the 2nd Gen. I am here daily, enjoying the camaraderie. I also point people this way from Facebook groups frequently. Forget the name, but someone in one of the groups doesn't like that, I just laugh.
  19. If the brakes are not delinked, it would be difficult for both fronts to lock up, they are separate master cylinders. Are you sure the front left and right rear did not lock up? If that is the case, it is probably a blocked air return in the rear master cylinder, that happened to me on my 83. Other smarter ones will be along shortly.
  20. Happy and Healthy New Year everyone. My goal is to lose 1/2 pound a week, I need to lol.
  21. Purchased a 2013 GL1800 F6B last fall. I liked / loved my ole 83 Venture, am not a fan of feet forward 2nd Gen, so.. here I am. Must say, the 6 cyl Wing is a rocket compared to my ole 83.
  22. I would go over the fuse box, making sure everything is in order, then there is a rather large red fuse / plug next to fuse box, I'd unplug and replug, (I had an 83 and this plug caused me an issue once) then I would toggle the switch on left thumb a few times, take the kick stand up and down, there is a switch there (make sure bike is in neutral). Others a whole lot smarter than I will come along shortly with more and better advise. Good luck
  23. Everyone, Have a Merry and safe Christmas, and a healthy and prosperous New Year
  24. My current PC with windows 10 loaded Microsoft Office 2007. Seems they have flushed a update stopping that.
