  1. Prayers for all affected for sure. Glad you are safe, what a mess.
  2. I always add gas storage treatment to mine, run it a few minutes to make sure it gets in carbs, and then top off tank to prevent rusting.
  3. I would look closer at that. Might simply need to tighten the screw. My kickstand broke, at the fork, bike fell over (the only drop ever with me) I replaced it with one off ebay, stood much straighter.
  4. That is your fuel pump. The filter is between that and the tank. My 83, it was on the cross section in front of the rear tire. Kinda a pain to get to. Probably looks like an old school auto aluminum type. I replaced mine with a glass one.
  5. Check your tire pressures first 👍
  6. I agree, most oil has a milky look if it has some water present. I'd change it with a quality oil that meets the spec, carry on, and change it again after maybe 2 oil changes. Too cheap and too easy. Did you find any signs of metal shavings? Who knows, local shop could have been using old opened oil that added to the problem.
  7. I agree, maybe a parts bike. Are you a gambler? Are you pretty handy? Her father passed and never finished working on it.. um, it's not a carb clean and oil change.
  8. Ya, our weather people don't get reprimanded for mistakes around here. Sorry about your truck woes, that must have been a rough night. I figured you were here for the band comp, happy your school won the championship, hopefully you enjoyed the city.
  9. I will just be a tease, if the S*** shows itself, it will melt on contact.
  10. Nope, the 'S*** word is even being mentioned for Sunday.
  11. Might be as simple as snugging 2 screws. Take some tissue or lightweight paper, touch areas and determine where the wettness is coming from. Highest point usually is the problem point.
  12. My best prayer time is when I'm riding 😇
  13. Things always happen for a reason, today was not your day. Glad you escaped tragedy, crazy...
  14. I replaced mine once. Turned out that I bought the line from a local tractor supply, more for yard tools. Well they would collapse under heat and higher rpm. Took me a while to figure out. Just saying if you went with a thin wall fuel line.
  15. Quick update. I aired them up a couple pounds higher than manual suggested, I have run maybe 800 miles, and they seem perfectly fine now. I still have slight high spot in center of tire, but no vibrations at all, not even even low in the corners. I will keep an eye one them, I do not know how long they were run low.
  16. Fuse is in fuse box under cover where gas cap is. Relay is up by headlight. Explain what's going on, if no blinking it could be a ground or simply a bad bulb.
  17. So I recently picked up a different ride. Both front a rear tires were very low, I aired them up to spec per manual, and they seem to have an odd mild vibration, especially in turns. As you can see, it's a no brainer. Question. Is this something that might wear off, should I drop pressure a bit, should I simply replace, Is it highly dangerous to ride as is? It seems fine, no vibrations at cruising speed etc, it's the corners or leaning back and forth that you can tell. Thanks for any and all advise.
  18. You could buy a maintenance free one for your next battery, as you thought you had 😇
  19. If it is a first gen, I have had great luck tieing the clutch lever with a rope, and letting it sit overnight. Seems the air works up to the top. Maybe one squeeze and loosen the banjo bolt at the top.
  20. My guess is you will have a hard time meeting the weight requirements on non stock size stuff.
  21. That does suck. Cheers to getting better.
