  1. Have you checked the starter relay, similar to old Fords, just to the left of the battery?
  2. Me too, and any cars around the house without built in remotes, I hard wire a push button and hide the remote up under the dash. No one ever knows what that push button is for. I hate the thought of someone opening a car, taking registration in glovebox, remote gdo off visor and off to an easy robbery.
  3. So he posted on youtube 2 days ago, I'm guessing that the expired membership status means he has moved on to his next chapter in life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ag5sECa0dj0
  4. His page said he visited 7 hours ago, it also says expired membership 🤷
  5. Nothing better than a new sticky tire, ride safe
  6. Prayers for you and your family, God has a plan, this is just a trial. Stay strong, she will come through a better lady.
  7. Generally speaking keep Japan parts on it. That said, one of the Forum greats uses a certain rubber glue and simply repairs his, he's been doing for years.
  8. I have had fuel line fail under hard acceleration, seems it draws a vacuum and collapses. It was a hard problem to find, it came about with a brake discussion and the old rubber expanding, lessening the effectiveness. a 83, certainly won't hurt to update fuel lines, lol.
  9. Wow, they actually put it in a box. 👍. Enjoy, hopefully you have cooler weather than us, a bit hot and humid in the midwest.
  10. My ole 83 will likely hit 50,000 miles tomorrow. to another 50, especially hopeful of not losing second gear. No problems yet 🤞
  11. There is a used one on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/283643615305?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3AAQAFAAAAkA7hwSjwn7SJhCRi9qQtm0hAcMVSlXxW%2FbACCsGi9iBfGU4SYXpwEN35xSlW%2FLxL7JJuT0phxLvoWr7N1FPPUalyMdEmWWaW4i%2FN2ozhyHx569143U6NoBt2ju5aLvyrJO79u6wjkfRVe2%2BWVWNndO66cFIBl6W0r0E6WWYv99yQmDp77PeotIcvnq0yaLddng%3D%3D&chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=283643615305&targetid=882300791467&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9016155&poi=&campaignid=1669934603&mkgroupid=65058347419&rlsatarget=pla-882300791467&abcId=1123856&merchantid=110771325&gclid=CjwKCAjwwqaGBhBKEiwAMk-FtAtZrLYPgdEGVLR0KzPGx4WSsJX-hq-tktymre9UZXk8hyaMh_NCvBoC2xIQAvD_BwE
  12. Mine does not have class. Yes, a Schrader valve on a bracket mounted to handlebars, right next to key. Best to use a hand pump. I only run a couple psi in my fronts (with progressive shocks) helps keep pressure on the seals.
  13. Might not be a popular response, but a few years ago, I simply plugged mine old school style, kit from Walmart, and it worked fine. Not like it's going to blow up, it would just leak air slowly. Taking and having a professional patch put in is better.
  14. Haha, I would like to take one for a ride tho.
  15. Had to Google what it was, but that is a great idea, and written for us, the nuts on motorcycles. I'd exercise caution, but do it if allowed.
  16. My 83 likes to start, then get the choke applied. Almost sounds like you fouled your spark plugs? One last thing, first start in the spring, sometimes I have to remove the air cleaner, small shot of starting fluid, and away she fires.
  17. Mine is a 83, original most everything, just sayin. I would replace rubber hoses if going out of state, no issues. I'd take a peek in the gas tank, rust can gum up a lot if it gets past an old filter. Tires will be shot, shocks might leak.
  18. No, you need iPhones and have them as shared info with 'Find my Friends' Be careful what you wish for though, I have 2 daughters in their twenties that live in different states, like an idiot I look at times what they are up to.... Compounds the worrying just sayin. 😨
  19. Order a nice lock for that beauty 🍻. Around the city nice stuff disappears. I like the tongue locks, a bit of a pain in the arse to cut off. Maybe something like this. https://www.ebay.com/itm/331938218360?epid=15017021089&hash=item4d490f4178:g:QR8AAOSwIgNXrWf8
  20. Sure, but I would drill a hole through for the screws and run bolts, washers, lock washers, and a nut or two.
  21. I have a steel with wood bottom. My wood starting to go bad, it's almost 30 years old. The aluminum trailer with wood floor, would probably last as long as you need it too 😉. If you find an all aluminum and the deck is slippery when wet, you could always throw a truck bed mat in it, glue it down. I agree, aluminum is lighter.
  22. I run Shinko 230 Tourmaster on mine. Super economical, I got almost 11,000 miles out of my last set (yes front and rear), and I'm a big boy and ride semi free spirited. 😏 I wouldn't consider any other tire 👍
