  9. Sorry I took so long to answer. I've been off air for a while. Havent had a chance to do anyththing yet but the first I'll do is check the torque on the diaphragm. I use standard 4st motorcycle engine oil so that's not the problem. Thanks for your really informative replies. Cheers Jim O'D......

  20. G'day All I'm replacing the oil in the front forks of my '83 VR after fitting new seals on the anti-dives. I have progressives. What oil level do I use ? 5 inches from the top or 5 and a half inches ? Jim O'D...........
  21. Does anybody have a battery sensor for sale ? Jim O'D....................... .
  22. G'day V Riders I rebuilt my front forks, now the antidive units both leak ! I replaced the "O" rings thinking that might be the problem, but no, it's the antidive units themselves. I read that they can't be repaired and Yamaha have discontinued the part so I've bought another pair on ebay hoping that they will be better than mine. If they leak too, I'm thinking of removing them completely and blocking off the holes with a plate. I have fitted progressive springs. How will this affect the ride ? Jim O'D.........
  23. Thanks bongobobny & snaggletooth Fount it !!!! I almost pulled the workshop apart before I fount it .......... now I'll just lightly smear it with a gasket goo called 3Bond. It's used to join metal to metal machined surfaces. I was going to resort to round "O" rings if I didn't find it. Thanks for all your help fellas. Jim O'D........................................
  24. The grooves I refer to are the groves the seals fit into. If I can't get the same seals I'll try a round "O" ring and see if it works. Jim O'D.......
  25. G'day Condor, I read in the manual that you shouldn't split the caliper, but how are you supposed to clean out the grooves properly without splitting the halves ! Just my luck to lose one of the "O" rings. Surely there must be a replacement part available somewhere......... Jim O'D.......
