Talk about putting 10lbs of crap into a 5lb bag! It would be interesting to take it for a spin. I wonder how well it could "flick" back and forth through traffic.

This is the type of stuff I'm talking about.

It may not have been said in so many words, but it was implied in a sarcastic kind of way.

Not to be a jerk... But why does there always have to be someone pointing out the obvious and telling someone else how they should be living their lives?
-
Ok, this may sound stupid, but... When you guys are talking about side opening trunks, your referring to the lid flipping open to the left correct? Not like the lids on the first gens that flip forward. For some reason I had a picture in my head of a trunk that had a side that opened instead of the top.

How about just adding a mercury switch to the horn somewhere? Maybe a keyed switch to turn it on? You'd have to figure out something different if you use the centerstand though I suppose.

Well It only works for IE based browsers. I'm a Firefox fan. Dang nabbed!

ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Processing speed/orthographic processing deficit can make things a real chore for me. Unfortunately these kind of things weren't very well understood when I was a kid. Which is another reason the nickname "Bummer" has stuck for about 35 years. I'll have to check out that website. Now if only pencils came with a spell checker.

They're putting out 197 horsepower too. Now only if I could get one into my MKI.

The open carry laws here in Wisconsin would make it nearly impossible to defend yourself if your in your car on your bike. With all the stipulations on the open carry laws here, we might as well not even bother.

Everything I possibly can! It's my daily driver. Weather permitting anyway. Trips to the grocery store, Lumber yard (that usually gets some odd looks), Junk yard (engines & tranies, etc.), Hauling other cycles, snow blowers, tillers, riding lawnmowers, etc. When I was hauling the snow blower one day, a guy asked me if I was sure what season it was.

I notice that they were all cages running the lights. I know that sometimes it can be an all to easy of a thing to do. I know that in the past I've accidentally run through at least one red light and a couple stop signs. I simply wasn't familiar with the area and was looking for street names, etc.. I guess I got lucky. It helped me learn a little bit about myself too, and has helped me keep it from happening again by being more aware and plan further ahead.

The Time Machine! Sometimes when I ride, it makes me feel like a kid again without a care in the world. Sometimes it makes others appear to stand still as if frozen in time. Sometimes I just lose all track of time.

Repack Steering Head Bearings:
a1bummer replied to Evan's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
This is what I use to pack my bearings. And that tool that Gary sold us works great! My bike feels better now. Apparently I wasn't getting things tight enough before.- 16 replies

Brake upgrade to R1/R6 calipers?
a1bummer replied to kbert777's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I'm assuming those kits only fit the MKII, not the MKI? Seeing as how the front forks are different. Are the rear disks and calipers the same on the MKI and MKII? I'm assuming they would also be different. -

Wisconsin is also an "At Will" or "Open employment" state. I always laugh when I hear someone say they have "job security". There are many other things I found out over the years about the way the system works here. Things like, an employer doesn't have to pay you what they told you they will when you get hired, as long as it's at least minimum wage. And if youy employer sends you out of state to work, you can screwed on your overtime as well.

How can you be so presumptuous as to feel you know just exactly what happened? Though I can't help but agree with you on just who is at fault in many instances. But then every instance is different from the next. And there are definitely exceptions to the rule. To simply close your mind and say it is the injured persons fault is ignorant. Now if your restrictions or limitations say that you should not bend, twist, climb ,turn, or lift, carry or hold a certain wieght then you should not be riding a motorcycle. That is just enough for your company to fight your claim and get it thrown out. By the way many companies hire private investigators to take pictures of you while you are doing things you should not be based on you restrictions and claims. So do not be suprised when you walk into court for you final hearing and see pictures of yourself doing activities that you should not have been doing. Still, very presumptuous. For those of you abusing the system shut the &*()) up and get back to work! Stop Screwing the rest of us! Now that I can agree with.

WOW! It's awful ignorant to come up with BS like that! Think about it! Lets see... It's MY fault I was injured while doing my job? If I ride a motorcycle... I must NOT have any disabilities? It's better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

Well I know some of the so called "Scooters" these days have engines bigger than most motorcycle I've owned. So it had to happen sooner or later. A couple of them look kind of cool and I wouldn't mind riding them. They still look better that that Victory Vision. But then a couple look real similar.

I tried for disability. But after going back and forth with them for three years, I was denied simply because they figured that going to school full time was the same as having a full time job. If my lawyer would've actually talked to me in the beginning, rather than meet face-to-face two weeks before my hearing, things probably would've been different. I wasn't using my "disabilities" to my advantage I guess. I was more interested in getting back to work as soon as I could. For some odd reason the insurance company wont pay up. Even the DWD and DVR both say I'm entitled to it and don't understand why they refuse to pay. I know it sure would have made this going back to school thing a lot easier and a lot less stressful. Luckily, my knees have been feeling better over time. Though definitely not back to normal by any means. Last summer I was finally able to do some hiking again. Though I was quite slower and had to take frequent rests. But at least I was able to do it. These days I'm mostly worried about what might happen if I don't stay within my restrictions simply so I can get a job. What if my employer or the insurance company finds out? What if I get hurt more if I don't? Thanks for the responses guys, Bill

I wrecked my right knee back in Jan. of 06. Lost my job because I was no longer able to perform my duties. Left one followed soon after. Needed to get a lawyer in the beginning of 07. I'm still waiting. Had to go back to school to make a career change because I can't do the kinds of work I have always been able to do before. It really suck going back to school with ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, ond another reading disability I can't pronounce. At least school will be over as of the end of this spring semester. Been putting applications and resumes in here and there, but so far, no luck. I've had to pass up to many jobs due to my work restrictions. How much trouble do you think a guy could get into if he didn't stay within his restrictions? Almost had disability go through, but they decided going to school was the same as working so I was denied. Has anybody else had to deal with similar things? Should dealing with the lawyers and insurance companies really take this long?
