  1. Coming thru Juaquin Texas today, I passed by an old run down building with an old black and yellow yamaha sign. So, I stopped and was amazed! In the window was what looked like a new 80 something yamaha 1100 midnite edition inline 4 with about a 1/8" of dust. in the front room of this old store, I saw atleast 15-20 motors from Decati's, yamaha's, indian's, etc. Some looked new, some used. I walked next door and man said I was the 3rd one today to ask bout the store. Unfortunately for me the owner was in Austin. The neighbor store said he had a ton of motorcycles, some still in the crate. He used to be a yamaha dealer back when. In short it was like looking thru a time window and from what I saw it was so cool. I plan on going back later this week or next and see if he'll give the tour and for those 1st generation guys I'll keep my eyes pealed. And I'll take a my camera:)
  2. A lot of you folks seem to backyard mechanics like I used to be, so... My wifes 01 Nissan Altima's window washer thing is plugged. Someone told me a long time ago that you can't use a bread twisty to clean them anymore, nor a welding tip cleaner, because it will ruin them. So, how does one clean them? Or do I just have to replace it. The one on the passenger side works fine, so I know the pump, etc is okay. craigr
  3. Well, its a snow day, i have a heated garage, and during the summer my friend hit a mailbox with the car i sold him. It shattered his window and left a pretty big dent in both him and the car. I was on my dads 05 GL 1800 when he called and told me, as soon as he told me he was bleeding, i new i needed to hurry. I got on the GL, and i tell you what, that is a quick bike!!! But i digress, we are going to pull the dent out of the side, with a kit, puddy it, sand the small parts and repaint the holes, we also have to do some work on the power window, the motor is still good, but the dent doesn't let it go down. One time though, we were driving around in the freezing cold and someone had pushed down on the window too long, we hit a bump and down came that new window! When were done with that, were going to pull the pipes off my 85, straight off from the catalitic converter, they are going back on though, i just want to hear that muscle car sound!
  4. i changed my oil today. weird thing it toook a long time for the oil to show in the window. i put 4 quarts plus a filter. finally after a long tiome it showed. about halfway in the window is this the correct place?
  5. Is there or has there ever been a dipstick to use in the Mk1 instead of that *&%#@ sight window?

  8. While reading an ad in the Classifieds I find that when I click on the members name it takes me to an empty page with profile..specs..etc. down the left side of the window, instead of taking me to the members actual profile page. Any one else having this problem??
  9. When you loose a rear shock will it still hold air pressure?( Mine is) Reason asking I know that when you change oil to NOT fill it over the half way mark on window and I am a slight bit lower than that but I have oil at base of rear shock? Thanks,Tom
  10. Is there a way to default the text window wider or longer when starting or replying to posts or PM notes?
  11. WOW!! 50-60 knot winds, rain. One heck of a storm rolling thru. So far I've lost the gates in the back fence and about 50 feet of side fencing. The window in the office sounds like a digery-do. Tried to save some of the fence and then said screw it and came back inside. Hope the roof stays put.......
  12. That has been circulating as an email for a while now and even though it is legitimate, the fact that there are so many links within it, it tends to hang some peoples computers up. They all share a common link... http://www.northpole.com/Kitchen/Cookbook/ and you can get to all those recipes from there without the mess of all the links listed one after the other and that each link opens in a new window, takes longer to load than accessing them from the actual web site. I posted this separate just in case the original thread did lock someone's PC up.
  13. i was sitting here reading the new posts a few min. ago on the house boat , it is cool out side and have all the windows and door open , i live in the Ocala Nat. forest , any way i look up and there is a 300 lb. hog walking down the gang plank , we don't have any nice hogs around here , only wild ones , mean wild ones so i had a heart attack , all i could think to do is jump out the window into the river , thank the man upstairs this hog backs up gos back up the plank and just stairs at me , i called my wife , she looks out the window and freaks . i told her to git the shotgun , loaded with buck and come over because i am trapped , anyway to cut this short , it somebody's pet and very friendly , some jerk dumped it out here . anybody want a 300lb hog ? i am going to put it in my neighbors yard , he is the state game warden :rotfl:
  14. Last night Ron and I were on route 50 riding through Seymour, Indiana. We stopped to put on our leather jackets and happened to see a Yamaha dealer. I bet Ron that there would not be any new RSV's in the show room. Boy was I wrong. There were two, one blue and black and one midnight. The place was closed, do not know the prices. It was Dan's Cycle. I tried to take photos through the window. He also has 3 Stratoliners. There also was this really sharp RSTD Trike. I am sorry the photos aren't any better. It was dark and I was shooting through the windows. Peggy
  15. Need some help here. I bought an 05 RSTD, and after a month and a half of riding, it was time to change the oil. I have read every thread concerning oil there was to offer here on the site, and finally decided on what I wanted to purchase. The manual calls for "3.91 US qt with filter cartridge replacement" I drained oil, and let it drain for about 20 minutes, changed the filter, and proceded to refill with the new oil. After completing the job, I noticed that the Engine Oil Check Window was full, but thought it might change after starting the engine....it didn't. SOOOO I drained out the oil until the level was between the minimum and maxium level on the window. Even though I had carefully added EXACTLY 3.91 US qt, it was 1 quart OVER FULL. My question is: What Happened? Is the manual wrong? Have any of you had this happen? What is the correct procedure: to fill with the manual required amount, or just to the "full line" on the oil check window? Haven't had anything like this happen on any other bike I have owned. I hope some of you can help me understand what is happening, or at least tell me if you have noticed this yourselves. This is my first post, and hope you guys can help. I enjoy the site a lot, and the information is a lot of help. Thanks! Lowflyer07
