What are the best folding chairs to strap on a bike? My wife and I like to ride to concerts or sporting events with our bike but the bag chairs, although they pack well, are not the best seat. What have other folks found are good chairs that pack well? Iowa Guy

Any members close to Watsonville CA? I could use some assistance with a purchase there. Thanks, James Never Mind! I can't figure out how to delete this message, but I have everything handled through the UPS Pack and Ship Store there. Mods, if you would like to NUKE this post, make it so.

Does anyone know where I can get the inside dimensions for the RSV bags? I'd like to figure out what size carry bag I might be able to take with me when I fly up to get my '01 tomorrow. I can always just carry a few things in a paper gift bag if need be, but if I knew the inner dimensions I could take something that will fit right in. I've got a few different choices here from lunch coolers (I know these would fit) to a KLR650 tail bag (17x11x6 I think). I was told a 16.5x14 laptop case will fit in the tour pack, so I'll have my laptop bag there with room for a few more items. I don't have the height available in the tour pack though, so if the tour pack dimensions are known that would be nice to.

Not sure if i'm posting this in the right place, my appologies if so. I'm curious if anyone has removed the tour pack (trunk) and rear seat as a modification of look for a RSV. I'm thinking that it would totally change the styling and maybe improve the handling in the process. I think it would drastically improve the looks if there was only the rear fender showing, but still retain the bags. I think it would look very sharp. Anyone have done this, if so, much work involved, and do you have a picture? Many thanks, Bar:cool18:

I'm looking for the brackets, or more appropriately the part#, that secure the front of the touring pack. There are two of them, one is 'S' or zig-zag shaped, and the second is an 'L' bracket. I've looked on Yamaha's and a few other web sites for the part#, but cannot locate the appropriate part. Before someone says that I can simply manufacture some out of material from Lowe's or such, I don't have a work shop to do this work at.

Anyone know where to get replacement screws?
Guest posted a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The only issue I have with my 99 RSV is that the screw heads in the tour pack and in the fairing strip out too easily. Does anyone know where to get replacement screws? Thanks, -
Been home a couple weeks, and with the nicer weather, decided it was time to get the second gear issue taken care of before riding season got into full swing. Spent yesterday afternoon stripping the scoot and hauling out the power pack. Then spent a couple hours in the garage stripping the power pack down, and cleaning the parts. When I had the drive shaft in the parts bath, after I'd gotten all the old grease off her, something didn't quite look right. Under closer inspection, I found that the teeth on the rear of the shaft looked like an ol' Inuit women's smile, half of the teeth were gone. It looks like every tooth is half worn out. So now I'm in the hunt for a replacement drive shaft. Will check with the local cycle salvage yards, but thought I'd post with the real experts and see if anyone has a spare that they'd let go cheap. 84 Venture Royale. Ozzie

I know this is a forum for topics related to motorcycles -but- seems there's a lot more of just plain old "communication" going on as well so..... I'm quitting smoking! I have set a "butt out" date of next Tuesday. I am on the pills (there's a new product out now) and I've reduced my smoking from a pack a day to less than 1/2 pack a day within 2 weeks. Anyone out there gone through this or going through this? Any comments / suggestions / or just plain old "communicating" about it you'd like to post?

Been beating around the bushes about selling my 83 Venture. Finally made up my mind this weekend. Should anyone be interested, let me know. She runs great and I will be including a couple of helmets with it. I have installed a 4-lamp light bar on the tour pack, auxillary driving lights on the front and an AM/FM Cassette that I purchased off of e-bay. I have the owners manual and a Yamaha tool kit that I purchased off of e-bay. I'm asking $2500.
