  1. Well since I got my 05 RSV I hit reserve and then fuel up and can not get more than 4 to 4 1/2 gal in it? The specs say > Fuel Capacity (gal/l) 6 / 23 Fuel Capacity Reserve (gal/l) 1 / 3.5 If the specs are right then why do I run out & need reserve at 4 gal? The fuel light comes on in 1 to 2 miles after turning to reserve. Do I really have 2 gal left? When I fill the tank I will sit on bike and hold it up right and wiggle the bike and fill it as full as I can get and still after 4 to 4 1/4 gal I am hitting reserve again. Any suggestions?
  2. Anyone know where I can get two outlined USA stickers, so I can fill them in as I go along?
  3. I have an '83 VR. My manual says to check the final drive oil level you use the dip-stick. OK if you have a dip-stick. It also says there should be .3 litre in it. That's how I fill it. I pour .3 litre in. The '85 manual says fill to the lip of the filler hole or .2 litre. Well, that can't be right. It'd have to be well over .5 to fill to the lip. Anyhow, if someone has a dip-stick, could you give me the measurements so I can make one. eg, length and distance from the top to the two marks on the bottom. Thanks Jim O'D Australia.
  4. If you are an Iphone user check out the Accufuel application from the Apple App store. It is an simple application that tracks mileage for each fill up and keeps an average mpg as well as a tank mpg. Since I always have my phone with me it is easy to enter the data at each fill up. $0.99 well spent. Check it out at: http://www.appigo.com/accufuel/ DT
  5. well we cancelled our reservations for eureka springs completely...so if anyone was still looking for a room at edelweiss our dbl queen room is now available. very disapointed we had to do this but.......but something happened today ( a big slap while we're already down) which i will fill ya in on later that made up our minds not to go. this is getting to be a like Peyton Place here in our home and im ready for the movie to end.
  6. Since no-one seems to be happy with the the 09's. Maybe we could vote for the Admin. and Mon. to come up with a form letter that we could all print and sign and then send a mass mailing to Yamaha. We did this in Ohio because of what they were using to fill in the cracks on the roads. Made them very slippery when wet. Didn't do any good, but we all got responses back.
  7. Well took the bike in today to have a stock size Avon tire put on (150/80-16. Boy thats just like me put on the MT90B16 (equal to 130/90-16) but did not like the fill at 80 mph on interstate. It seem to fill light to me. More then likely it was all in my head. But someone told me along time ago if you don't like something change it so I did. Well I have a MT90B16 in the garage with 250 miles on it. I guess I could always sale to someone cheap.
  8. so, until i can get around to ordering Carbon1's lift adapter (which i will), has anyone successfully lifted their RSV with a craftsman and (fill in the blank). I just need to check out a noise on the front tire.
  9. Just had the new tire put on this evening to replace the crappy Bridgestones after 5300 miles. What a difference. The bike feels 200 lbs lighter. I had the shop fill the tires with nitrogen. Don't know if it was worth the 10 bucks or not. Time will tell. DT
  10. Gasoline just hit $3.70 a gallon for regular. I paid $120 to fill up the pickup. It now cost $20 to fill up the bike. Groceries are going up and this month our health care provider is re adjusting rates. Dig deeper and have a nice summer. Will Americans cut back on recreation??? NO.Now the good news it's 75 outside lets ride.
  11. My girlfriend dropped a whole can of Seafoam into her 750 Ace (3.7 gallon tank) which probably only had 1 gallon of gas in it (just guestimating as she knows it was not full and could still see some gas). Anyway, she started it up, it ran for a while, then stopped. She couldn't get it started again. Am going to go over tomorrow and maybe drain her tank into a gas can then fill up the tank and start over again.... Question is, if there is so little gas that is diluting the whole can of Seafoam, could she have done any damage? Do I just need to fill up the tank, shake it up a bit and try to crank it up again? Thanks, Jeff
  12. I am looking at buying a camper from someone in Janesville. Jerry (Boo) is going to be working with me to look at it and maybe more. Is it true that you dont need or have title for small trailers in Wisconsin? How do you register it without title? Could someone fill in the blanks for me please. There will be no relay needed.....lol...I plan on a roadtrip if this works out.
  13. Hello everyone. I just received the JD Powers Quality Survey for my 2007 Venture. Is this a common thing for people to get? If not and any of you want me to add comments to the survey, I'll hold off filling it out until I hear some responses. If this is a common survey that everyone gets, please let me know and I'll fill it out immediately. Thanks.
  14. So here it is, Rich. I have been fuelling up at the Shell station on Vasco and Northfront in Livermore and my performance has improved. Now get this. The last two tanks have come from Citgo at the 7-11 on the corner of Vasco and Las Positas in Livermore and have gotten almost 200 miles out of each tank in the same to-and-from work riding conditions. I don't know how often you fill up there but you should try it. By the way I always use 91 octane. Just a little prefference of mine. Just thought I would let you know and others not in the area could try Citgo and post if they have seen a difference. Bubba:detective:
