Thanks Don, you're Correct ... but, you CAN get sick from it (just to clarify).
-
OK, so how do you account for so many people getting sick after having a flu shot? From what I've heard, you almost have to get sick in order for the immune system to create the anti-bodies. Now, those who get the flu shot every year may not experience this but those who don't or who have never had a flu shot... well, I know several who got real sick. Urban legend?...I don't believe it. Frankly, it's a documented fact.

nope... didn't miss it... but didn't pay a lot of attention to it either. I guess my internal "data filtering system" told me it was out of place to the rest of the thread so I just cruised on past it.

Actually you can ... Polanski was an actor and is a big name in the film industry so in essence, they both worked in the same industry and probably crossed paths at least once.
-
sorry Don... but I for one do not see it going this way.

Now here's a "DOG" ... http://www.theprovince.com/life/Muscular+Schwarzenegger+pooches/2044317/story.html

yup!

They do that up here too although I haven't seen that practise for several years. I got caught right in the middle of that one time when I had my '83 Wing. Dust and rocks flying everywhere...we basically had to pull over and let all the cars go by (it was limited to one-way traffic with a pilot vehicle) before we could proceed. Very difficult to manoeuver as it was all fresh.

I haven't heard of any bike accidents caused by road snakes but, just like a lot of other things, they'll prolly not do anything until there's been a number of deaths as a direct result.
-
I don't make plans because I live life "in the moment"; however, I have dreams.... and my dream is and has been for many, many years to spend my retirement touring on my bike for as long as I can. "Follow the Sun" I have at least 5 years yet to work before I figgure I will be able to afford to realize my dream. I'll be 67 at that time... hopefully I'll still have my health and agility that I now have.

I wonder if anyone, anywhere has done anything about getting a ban on these things or lobbying to change how they do this. Recent readings in here as well as my own experience ... it's obvious that these things, especially in corners, are a "clear and present danger" to bikers all over.

heh ... Boomer... have you ever stated the same quotation more than once? Man, you should write a book of all these quotations!

spark plugs and gap
SilvrT replied to Goofeychuck's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I use NGK and the gap is 35 thou. I've also used the NGK Irridium but can't really state that they make a heck of a lot of difference other than how long they last. -
ok, so he said he checked the tires but did he check the tire pressure and was the gauge he was using accurate? Maybe the brand of tire? put more air in and see what happens. And it could be those other things too...

Not necessarilly .. low air pressure will also.

I heard of a case where somebody got a flu shot when the last "pandemic" hit and now has contracted the H1N1 as a direct result because they got so sick from that flu shot.
-
tire air pressure. That happened to me when I first got this bike... I took it for a ride, not thinking anything about the tire air pressure... gawd it felt weird... then I checked... tires were at 20lbs.

dunno... haven't tried it on yet but I think the waist is a bit too big for me... Actually, it was showing signs of cupping and when I talked to the dealer's mechanic he suggested putting 2 more lbs of air above factory spec. Interestingly enuf, the front is wearing faster than the rear. (these are the stock tires). I've got appx 18,000 kilometers on them and the front is almost worn out. The rear looks pretty good still. I'll be checking the steering head this winter. I only have 2 more weeks of insurance left so ain't gonna worry about it until after then.

could you be a bit more specific about your bike's "mind"?? ... or is it not sharing that info with you?

I don't know about "wobble" but mine sure seems to have some kind of "flexing" going on when I take a corner fairly "hot" and there's some bumps or dipping in the road. Gets a little unnerving to say the least.

I've never had a flu shot in my life and ain't about to start. I rarely get sick with a cold or any kind of flu. Why fix sumpin that ain't broke. Besides, I read that this H1N1 flu affects mostly young people and those with pre-existing illnesses. I think all the "hype" has got people freaked.

I Think I'll NOT be doing any gambling anytime soon, statistical or otherwise LOL Oh wait... I buy lotto tickets.... and let's see, I guess I've boughten a couple hundred so that means, statistically speaking, if I buy 26 million more, the next one after that I'll WIN!!! yipppeeeeeeeee!!!!
