  1. I have an extra cable that came with the cd player when I bought it from another member. If it's the one you need you can have it. the end has a round connector with 13 pins arranged in a 1 4 4 4 layout. the cable is 16 ft long. I will send you a photo or two to confirm. Let me know. Gary
  2. Call another plumber! Sometimes house laterals get clogged with roots, grease, or paper. Plumber will punch a small hole in clog to get it running but trouble comes back. extremely rare to have pipe "shot". Have another plumber tv the line and be there when he does it. i have saved many homeowners thousands of $ from shady plumbers over the years. 40 years in sewer / wastewater business.
  3. I had as unusual drivetrain noise on my 2nd gen when I first bought it used. During tire replacement I asked the mechanic to split the rear shaft and grease the splines. No more noise (except that usual tranny noise) .
  4. After a 30 year gap I wanted to get back into riding. Started by retaking the basic rider class.bought a used 05 vstar 1100. Then took the advanced rider course. After eight months riding the1100, I wanted something more suited to highway speeds. Sold the 1100 and bought an 06 RSV. I'm glad I moved up to the bigger bike but I think there was a lot of value in the experience on the smaller bike. my solution to city vs country driving. A year ago I picked up an 03 vstar 650 pretty cheap. Added forward controls and that's my city going to work bike. Weekends the Venture rules the road. gary
  5. Harley recalls nearly 46,000 motorcycles http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/04/24/harley-recalls-nearly-46000-motorcycles/
  6. Was walking to the library from my house yesterday and a gorgeous gold first gen passed me on the street. Up the block I met him outside his house so I asked him about his ride. He said it was an 83 with about 20k, he got it six months ago for free! I told him about our forum and encouraged him to chech it out. We'll see if he shows up. The member map shows only 2 members in colorado. Can this be true?
  7. Are you losing antifreeze? I had an 03 f150 with the 4.7litre 8 that started doing things like that. It also overheated. After the dealer replaced two spark plug power packs, it ultimately was one of the head gaskets that were going. $3000 later I traded it in. hope your problem is something else.
  8. Been using a Lee turret reloader for years with good results. I wouldn't shy away from it. You can't beat the price. Get carbide dies and you don't have to lube the brass. I reload pistol only. Get a reloading manual and its like cooking from a recipe.
  9. I second that. My 06 needed the Butler mod to be really comfy.
  10. Don don't miss the opportunity. Saw his show in dayton two years or so ago. His hair is white but he still rocks. Gary
  11. got a ride on the B-17 a few years ago in Dayton Ohio. if you get the opportunity take it. it's not to be missed.
  12. Big D, I moved from Ohio to colorado in sept last year and made no adjustment to my 06 RSVP. Rides at 6000 ft the same as it did at 700 ft above sea level I'm not sure we'll be home when you're out here but don't hesitate to call if you need assistance. I'll check my info to see if my correct number is there. Btw, I have ridden over passes at 9000 ft with no problem but have not tried the peak on the scoot. It was intense enough in a f150 with tranny braking. Gary:322:
  13. Bought a multi pack of metric plastic wing nuts from Grainger for very little money. Stored the extras in the saddlebag in case I loose one. Maybe I should sell them??? This could make my first million!
  14. 70 Plymouth RoadRunner 383 4 speed 73 Plymouth Duster 340 4 speed can't believe mine is the third Roadrunner posted. beep Beep!
  15. At least it's the best color:whistling:
  16. Yep, that's what I say. Swapped out the OEM Bridgestones for a set of Avon Venom's ) over a year and no cracking issues) and could't believe the change in handling. anybody ever call a venture "Nimble"? That's what the venoms did for me. Second on the "who dug this old thread up"?
  17. Don, I paid my subscription for the year with paypal, and your address came up with the old frontier address. Do you need to update your address on the payment part of the site or in paypal?
  18. I bought a bag of white plastic metric wing nuts from grainier about a year ago. Keep the extras in my saddle bag but haven't lost one yet. They were only a few bucks. How about that, an answer to your problem and no nut jokes:stirthepot:
  19. i've recently moved from Springboro Ohio (altitude 700 feet) to Colorado Springs Colorado (elevation 5800 feet), and was wondering if there are any simple adjustments to be made to account for the altitude change. Been riding solo and 2-up and don't really notice any change in performance, but I'm no mechanic. Someone here suggested that I would have to have the carbs re-jetted. Since this is not my field of expertise, I am reaching out to my fellow members for advice. Also, I've seen a few Ventures on the road; any members in the area? Gary
  20. Don't forget to ask for a copy of the photos:rotf:
  21. I saw this on Ebay and $19 seems like a great price if it would work on our bikes. Anyone with wiring prowess care to weight in on this with some good advice? http://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-MADE-TecNiq-Red-HI-Mount-Center-Brake-Turn-ID-Bar-11-LED-Light-Trailer-Truck-/370808925800?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item5655ef2e68 Gary:cool10:
  22. Your tires are six years old. When I bought my 06 last year I put venoms on. The difference in handling was hard to believe. For a few hundred dollars you are buying peace of mind. My opinion.
  23. Lenny, The venture is top heavy. With experience you will get used to the handling. what kind of tires do yo have? I replaced my OEM tires with Venoms and noticed improved handling. Question for Freebird if he's monitoring the posts today. How does a post from yesterday get attached to a thread from 2010?
  24. Got a ride in the 17 last summer when it was in Ohio. It was worth the $400. My father in law did 25 missions in the 17 out of England. He died 3 years ago. Those guys had some serious chops!
