  1. ROFL!!! That's EXACTLY what I did Saturday!! I thought I'd try and see if it'd work so I put both feet up and WOW, WIND!!! It definitely helped and trust me, he didn't mind at all!! LOL Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. ROFL!! I wish!!! I have to sit a bit lower on this bike, too, so I lose a bit more wind. I used to always use a get seat pad but, with this bike, I'm finding it hard on my back so sitting lower and more "into" the seat seems to help a bit. I'm putting the gel seat, folded in half, behind my lower back to see how that works next. I'll figure it out somehow. I have had a bad back since I was 16 and it NEEDS to be supported.
  2. Ah hah! I found another picture. Is this what they're talking about? http://www.bakerbuilt.com/bbairwings/page48aa.html
  3. So there IS a way to have these grips again. We had them on our old bike and Mike loved them. Went to the dealer to get this done and they wouldn't do it because of the weights issue. I'll show him this thread and see what he thinks about it again. Thanks for the info!
  4. Those are for the driver. I'm the passenger. He already has highway pegs. Or am I confused?
  5. Is this a cigarette lighter type plug? Or a white plastic plug? We couldn't find anything but a white plastic plug type thing that I don't know what you'd plug into it. I thought there might be a cigarette lighter type plug somewhere but maybe not?
  6. At least now I know why I couldn't find the front two plugs. Remove the GAS TANK to change the plugs? Wow... much harder than our Honda Shadow I used to do the small things on. I assume you can't move the tank back without unbolting it? Maybe if the two of us were to do it, one holding tank, other change the plugs. I haven't been able to find either auxiliary jack/plug, either, so would definitely appreciate a good description of where they are and pics. We looked and looked but couldn't find them.
  7. I wear a skullcap under my helmet to keep my helmet clean and to help keep my hair in place when we ride. Then I have "Hairdo by helmet" patch on all my vests - self-explanatory, I figure, 'cause I have curly mid-length hair and there's no way it's going to look good after being stuffed in a helmet for hours.
  8. Those lift your feet up but they don't put them further away from the bike like highway pegs do where you can catch the wind. I don't think they'll do the job but thanks for trying.
  9. He wears boots. I never wear boots when it's hot out because, if I get overheated, I'll pass out so I wear vented sneakers. I tried wearing my boots in the summer but my feet burned and itched, they were so hot. We're coming off a Honda Shadow ACE Tourer, no fairings at all, so it's a huge difference in wind and heat to us.
  10. I noticed that, too, and I'm 5'8" so I'm not short. We're new to the Venture. I see the Diamond alternative (ouch at the price) but good to know it's not just me who is bugged by the "oh, ****" handles right on the bottom of the thighs.
  11. We just got our Royal Star Venture (what do I call it, a Venture? An RSV?) and we're both noticing WOW it's HOT on the feet. He has highway pegs so he's fine but I'm wondering if anyone has any solution for the passenger??? I really cannot STAND hot feet and would love passenger highway pegs - are there such a thing? I know you can get passenger foot rests to give you different positions from Diamond but is there anything I can get that puts them out into the wind? Thanks!!!
  12. I would love more information on passenger arm rests.
  13. Love Handles are for bikes with sissy bars. We have a trunk, of course, so these aren't mountable on our bike. Which ones are those please? Carbon_One? Where are those please? How do they mount? Any details about them would be great. I see they're for GoldWings but thought they might possibly work on the Venture.
  14. What did you buy? I'm looking for good armrests, too!!!
  15. May I ask why you are selling the Diamond Arm rests? I'm looking into Larry's or Diamond's or these ones: http://www.americanmotorcycleaccessories.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AMA2006 I'd really appreciate any feedback you can give me. Thank you!!!!
  16. There's these ones from Diamond: http://www.diamondraccessories.com/yamaha/proddisplay.php?name=Swingout%20Tubular%20Armrest http://www.diamondraccessories.com/yamaha/proddisplay.php?name=Swingout%20Tubular%20Armrest And then there's these ones: http://www.americanmotorcycleaccessories.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AMA2006 http://www.americanmotorcycleaccessories.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AMA2006 Does anyone have either of these? I'd love more detail about both if possible. I really like the look of the second ones. We drive a 2007 Yamaha Royal Star Venture and I really miss my armrests so want to purchase some ASAP. Anything anyone can tell me that has either of these would be great. Thank you!!!
