  1. But who falls for this nowadays?
  2. 2004 with 5k miles. for $18,750
  3. Everybody, I have a scam alert. I am selling my RSTD and it's on C.L. and cycle trader. Well this morning I get a text that asks if I still have it for sale. I replyed "yes I do". The next text was " Hi thanks for getting back to me, am ok with the price and the condition, i won't be able to come for the inspection due to the nature of my work.i would havelove to call in person but we have call restriction due to bad weather condition our satellite server has been down. i will be paying you through PayPal, pls get back to me with your PayPal details so i can proceed with the payment and contact." Next I asked where was he/she located, what is your nameand I stated that if it was going to be pay pal I was going to ship at the buyers cost. This was the second time I asked for a name. The reply was I have a private agent who will come for the pick up as soon as the funds has been transferred to your paypal account so all I need from you is your paypal email so i can pay in. I told him then that he hadn't answered any of my questions so I asked them again and asked the "agent" name. I told him that until I was satisfied there was no deal. The agent would have to bring cash to a location of my chosing and I protect myself unless I he could meet those conditions then there was nothing left to discuss. When I got to work today my co-worker that is selling his Honda Rune and ST1300 had the exact same text message. Don't think anyone here is dumb enough to fall for this but pass it on!!!
  4. As most have said about hte RTSD it helps if you area a solo rider. My wife doesnt ride but my 13 year old son does sometimes and he hates the stock backrest in comparison to the electra-glide tour pack.

    R.I.P.

Condolences on you loss. My brothers and can't agree on anything but we are thick as thieves and I can't imagine losing them.
  6. I've owned both I had a 1999 RSV and I really enjoyed but it was top heavy and I just never cared for the look of the front fairing. I sold it when I went to Korea and when I came back I got the 2007 RSTD. To me it feels much better. I'm 6'2" tall so that's not an issue. I added a Hoppe fairing and a quick detach tour pack. The best combo for me is the fairing (with radio) and no tourpack. Just like a Harley street glide, the handling is better and I get the benifits of the fairing with less weight. I can add the tour pak when needed and suffer the extra weight but this was the best solution for me. Of course now Victory has the Cross Country Deluxe with everything I want in a bike already in place so this may be my last Yammy tourer. I would miss the smooth V-4 but I could get used to it and that's another thread.....
  7. Well My computer's been acting up a bit lately. But I went out to start tearing into the bike and guess what the wire connector to my fuse had slipped off. So I changed the windshield and went riding. No Shark system needed but I do have plans for a softail that'll include one in the future. Thanks guys
  8. Bill Sorry I hadn't seen this thread. But I actuallu found the backrest on here. Hopefully by now you've found one. Jim
  9. Thanks for the input. I'm gonna try the SHark system for sure and I'll post the results!!!
  10. Thanks Guys that's why I asked, I was running out of ideas. Bumble Bee, I have tried a marine radio actually all of them were marine radios except this last one which lasted the longest and one other i was thinking just like you on the waves. djh3-that looks promising one thing I forgot to mention is an aux port. I'd like to be able to play my IPOD and get FM anything else is a plus.
  11. All, I'm differing to the vast knowledge of you guys. I've got a 2007 RSTD with a Hoppe Quadzillza fairing and every radio that I've mounted has cut out after a short time. The latest Kenwood has lasted the longest at just under a year. But they all start out the same, first the radio light will cut out but the unit still plays fine then after awhile the unit starts to cut out and restart itself, next it'll cut out and not work until I restart the bike. That's usually the point were I replace the thing but this one has now cut out completely. I may have a blown fuse and I'll look at it when I change to a taller windshield for the winter, probably this weekend. Now my questions are does anyone have any experience with an after market radio with a remote that can take the vibrations of a motorcycle, and would adding amps help with anything other than sound quality? Also has anyone used a Harley radio on a metric bike? Thanks in advance.
  12. Darrin, Somehow this the first time I've come across this. I wish I'd found it earlier. Man, the ride looks great and I could have used many of you ideas on my bike.
  13. Once you get the trunk done post pics please. I did the same thing and I'd love to compare. Good Luck
  14. Glad to see some good news wishing a full and speedy recovery
  15. Praying for Larry's speedy recovery, folks really dont look out for bikes anymore
