My headlight has lost it's brightness. At first it was only on the dim side now both high and low beams are not working correctly. THe headlight indicator on the dash is lit also. When this first started happening I could reach in and move the wires behind the headlight and it would work now nothing. I can not see any broken or frayed wires. THere are many things I can do but electrical is not high on that list. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

clutch bleeding
Dr. Psycho replied to Dr. Psycho's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
TIed the lever back last night still no clutch. Of course I did not see the part about loosening the master cylinder lid. So I will let it sit all day today and try again tonight. THis getting frustrating. I have had clutch problems before but it has NEVER taken me this long to get it bled and working. Thanks Dr. Psycho -
clutch bleeding
Dr. Psycho replied to Dr. Psycho's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thanks Gary, In a couple weeks when I leave on the road again I am taking it to a buddy that has a bike shop. The brakes are in bad shape and it is not running good. SO I am wanting to get the clutch bled so I can go on a big ride this weekend, then I will rebuild the slave cylinder. Scot -
Two months ago my clutch worked fine, bike has set as I was out of town for work. Get back and have no clutch. I believe my slave cylinder needs to be rebuilt as I do lose fluid over time. usually I can fill the reservoir up do a quick bleed and back on the road. This time not so lucky. When I pull the lever there is absolutely nothing there, as if the lever is not attached to anything. I cannot seem to get it to build pressure. This has been going on for several days. ANy ideas or suggestions?

I am pretty sure that Arkansa will be fine and since the '83 in my garage needs a bunch of work all are welcome..... Just sayin'

I have gotten my new plastics, tci (from Dingy), and getting ready to order a fork rebuild kit from buckeye and progressive springs. Now I just need to get home so I can start rebuilding Frankenstein! Also going to get a carb sync tool and check on my carbs, I do not think I am getting all of the power out of her. Scoty

Thanks guys. Now I know! Scoty -
Can these engines be started on the bench. I know that a chevrolet engine can be started outside of the car, can ours? I am thinking of an 83-84 1200. Thanks Scot

Fork Braces
Dr. Psycho replied to Condor's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Mine shakes and shimmies and handles horribly. I am getting some mkII forks and upgrading brakes, I also am going with progressive springs. WHile I have it apart I will check the steering head bearings. If I still have shake and shimmy then I will look into a super brace. Mine specifically will shake on decel from about 45, it wobbles and is hard to hang on to in low speeds while corniering. I have brand new tires on it with no change. I would be excited to say my front brake was anemic, it is almost non existant. New SS lines, dual piston calipers, and better rotors are on the order slip. Scoty -
Thanks for the help guys. I will start looking fo rhte new forks. Now that the wife I have house with a garage I will start tearing into her as soon as I get home(I am currently in ALaska working). After reading several posts I believe that her full power potential has not been realized so I am looking forward to that. Scoty

How much did you cut off? I am planning on doing a tear down and rebuild on mine this winter. My screen is junk to begin with and never have liked it being that tall this is one of the mods I am planning on. Scoty
