  1. Oh noooo Another new comer now cowpuc is going to start retelling all his stories again cause he got a fresh pair of ears(ok EYES). Welcome to the form. Oh and by the way Flyn Fools aim ain't as good as he lets on. Sure he hits what he shoots at but collateral damage is horrendous.:snow::snow::snow::cold:
  2. A few here on the site have had some serious mishaps with the Metzlers and yet I also know of some who have done very well with them so I guess you can take that for what it's worth. Personally I have been very happy with my Dunlap E3 and before that Dunlap e2
  3. Choke(or stuck open enrichment valve) could do it. I remember years back when manual chokes on cars were common, we had a lady customer bring us her car for a running issue. It would always run good cold but sputter when it got hot. We could never figure it out until one day my boss suggested she leave the car with us and so I was elected to go home with her and return with the car. As she gets in the car she pulls out the choke and hangs her purse on it. I asked her if she did that all the time. Turns out she did. I left it at that until the car started to sputter and as she said there you see what it does I took her purse off the choke pushed it in and the car to her total amazement ran like a dream - go figure
  4. Sign me up for a front row seat:whistling:
  5. It may sound a little like something Captian obvious may say but you would be amazed at the number of people who in their excitment forget one or all three of those.
  6. Remember to put the dolly leg down, drop the tail gate and disconnect the cord before you pull out from under.
  7. Also toss an extra 20 bucks over and above the invoice total when you pay. You will be amazed how it ups your credit score.
  8. In other words financial discrimination.
  9. Clue 2 is not much of a clue after all we are talking Canadian Government. I would be more concerned if the perp spoke with perfect English.
  10. Good deal Sleepy. Glad you will be able to make it.
  11. I have had my frogg toggs for about 5 or 6 years and rode through some real day long down pours and only got a wet crotch on one occasion and that was when I happened to be dead stopped in traffic just as the sky split wide open and the water pooled on my bike seat. Dang that was cold. What I really love about them even though there may be stuff out there that is more water proof is that they breath and are supper comfortable even with extra clothing under them. P/S don't try swimming in them - under those conditions they soak up a lot of water and get real heavy - and if you must know why I was swimming in them it was because I managed to flip the canoe while fishing (Don't ask ---lets just say it was a Yammer move and leave it at that) and oh yeah I guess my crotch got a little wet that time too.
  12. If it makes you feel any better (and I am only saying this so you don't feel alone) two years ago on our way home from Galena Marcarl had a bearing let go on the rear wheel of his 85 VR. We got lucky when a by passer stopped was able to help. turned out the guy had a brand new set of bearings in his garage which where for his honda but was the same as the one used in the venture. Most bearing manufacture's use a standard bearing ID numbers for bearings and seals which is etched on the bearing and seal. If you get that number of the part and try honda or some of the local jobbers you might just get lucky.

My bike has been running so good on the stock unit I have not put mine in yet just keep it on hand incase the stock unit fails. Will probably get Gary to update the software in it when I go to WNY though since the currant software is probably outdated.

  16. Yes Happy Canada day my Canadian friends.
  17. Been a little busy so have not spent much time on site and therefore only just saw this post. After reading it I was left with three questions Have you decided yet whether or not Marca is a keeper. When do plan on listening to Marca's superior wisdom.... By now you must realize Marca is much wiser than you. And what In the world was she thinking ....it must have been one heck of a once in a lifetime hair cut. P/S Love you two and Congratulations. May the great years continue.
  18. Sorry I did not catch this sooner Jeff. Since I been in Nova Scotia my Daughters has had me working my butt off. Details later. From what I gather all went well and your still with us. Seeing as how yesterday was my Birthday I guess having you still still around is my birthday present ...actually I am glad your still with us P/S those better not be my share of the rum balls your offering the nurses.
  19. You mean those shut off thingy's are actually supposed to move. and here I thought it was just there as window dressing. Actually mine has been seized from the day I bought the bike and so it never gets moved
  20. Obviously congratulations are in order here. I suppose you will be giving them a 1st gen for their wedding gift complete with its very 1st sticker.
  21. No but Carl does On another note got here safe and sound. Barely got my feet up and out comes the daddy do list:2132:. What can I say like mother like daughter . The deck im replaceing is a super friendly deck. It waves at the neighbors as you walk out twards the end of it. It sits on unsupported 2x10 joists extended 8 ft from the house which are pretty rotten.
  22. In the trade we usuAlly see that kind of damage if 1 the wheel locked up or 2 the tire had an internl leak wear air gets up between the belt and the tread causing a bulge which soon wears off. Normally though for the second one you feel a vbration
  23. Sadly caging it.. Also hoping to detour through Lower Derby NB so my son can see were I was born. But next year I hope to bike it and my son is hopeing he will have a bike by then and can join me.
  24. My son and I just hit the road were off to spend 2 weeks with my daughter. Were also loaded with tools because while there we are building a new deck on her new house. Lobsters here we come.
  25. Sorry to hear about your accident Dan and I certainly hope you make a full recovery and in less time than the last one. As far as your memory goes hopefully it too comes back. At least you remembered how to log on and where your friends are. That's a good start and if you remember to bring tent poles to the next MD. well than we'll know your memory came back better than ever. Sadly all the book learning, videos and years of experience, will not prepare you as much as constant practice and getting to know the feel, of the specific bike your riding and its limitations, to the point were it almost becomes a part of you. Even then circumstance, still plays a key role. You can remain as alert as an owl 99.9% of the time and yet that one split second, your attention is drawn elsewhere, you still could be trouble.
