  6. I think the purple would look great. I would go with a two tone purple by replacing the dark grey with a dark shade of purple, Then have someone like J-Bird dress it up with some real nice pink, pink and gold or pink and silver pin stripping. Maybe a nice epitaph across the back of the trunk lid in her honor with the cancer pink ribbon above it. Or maybe form the epitaph in an arch over the ribbon.

  11. 1st off let me say that yes I can see some like myself posting less. Not because we are any less interested or Loyal to VR but because after being a member for and posting for almost 9 years I just do not have a lot to add to the majority of posts without repeating myself or remaking comments that have already been made. With the abundance of tech advice already on the site there is very little to add as well, other than to redirect a new comer as to were to find what they are looking for. I do however still jump on to see whats happening and to maintain friendships already acquired through this site and hopefully continue to make new friends. Its great that we have a site that is so full of tech advise that no matter what the issue the answer can almost always be found whether it be in the read only tech section or whether it be through advice given on the open forums. The tech info was the initial reason I joined this site but as time went on I gained and made some really wonderful friends. Even my wife who does not easily except most of the people I sometimes make friends with really enjoys those I have made friends with on this site. Another thing I really love about this site and its members, unlike a lot of other motorcycle sites, is that we are not so motorcycle indoctrinated that we feel we have to act like a bunch of one percent-er wanna Be's, but continue to be a regular bunch of fun loving family oriented CRAZY WONDERFUL people who enjoy each others company as well as riding and still maintain a PG environment. I enjoy our group gatherings, rallies and meet and greats. I enjoy the fact that members can count on other members for help in so many ways. I enjoy the fact that when members are on a road trip they can look forward to be welcomed by other members when in their area. In my opinion although this site started out as a site for the venture MC, and despite the fact that we now have many members that ride a brand other than the venture but yet still remain members says it all. Because at the end of the day regardless of brand, we all still love to VENTURE out on our motorcycles and so in that sense we are all still, VENTURE RIDER'S. Heyyyy WHO you callin'n old. I have to agree, though I have not traveled as far from home as those like Aussie Anne and Quick Step and even our frosty friend from Iceland affectionately known to us all as StarFan. I would never have had the pleasure of meeting them and many others closer to home had it not been for VR. Nor would I have traveled and triped to some of the places I had the pleasure of going to as a result of Rallies and meet and greets. Not possible, they would have to see us as something different from themselves in order to refer to us as such. But when they compare us to what they see in the mirror every morning they only see us as perfectly normal. Says it all and then some.

  15. Go Figure
  16. OOPS
  17. Did not realize there was such a thing. Not to mention I really thought cutting it would have been the tricky and hard part which I accomplished with no issue, figured being plastic drilling it would have been the easy part.
  18. Using the shoulda woulda coulda theory I realize (and should have realized ) that I should have started with a small pilot hole 1st then opened it up using a small step drill at slow speed or a tapered reamer going through only half way and then finishing from the other side. You don't always have to be stupid to be dumb
  19. Be very carefull if you plan on cutting your slipstreamer. I found out the hard way that the slipstreamer is very hard and can stress crack very easily. In order to conserve the recurve at the top I cut the bottom which worked out perfectly but when I went to drill new holes for the bolts, the drill bit snagged and the windshield split right up the middle. I probably should have used a smaller bit then opened up the hole with a step drill or reamer and drill 1/2 from one side then finish from the other side.
  20. I just cut my windsheild down taking 2 inches off the bottom. However as I was drilling the new holes to mount it the drill grabbed and I split the windsheild in two so now I too am shopping for one. I am also pondering the vent question when it dawned on me that the 1st gens have vents in the dash plus a fair bit of air comes up past the steering head so I have wondered if it even makes a difference.
  21. Oh and I am sure the Warden has bigger plans
  22. Hey I brought you a Ragtop from Michigan last year. .....OK so it was a guy not a car but its gotta count for something.
  23. So to start out I split my windshield more or less down the middle (Don't Ask). Bottom line I am now looking for a new windshield. Mine was a Slipstreamer which I had no issue with other than the top edge was right in line with my line of sight. The windshield was 22.5 inches and I wanted to reduce it to 20 inches (oops let a clue slip out). My wife suggested putting a pad on the seat so I would sit a little higher (oh oh another clue). Any way long story short I am now looking for a new windshield. It seems Slipstreamer only makes a 22.5 inch. On the other hand Clearview lists three sizes including a 20 inch. My question is to those of you that have the Clearview. Are you happy with it? Does it have the recurve edge at the top? Do you have the vent in it and is it worth the extra expense? Is there anything you don't like about it? If you could change would you and if so what would you switch too? Where is the best place to buy it from?
  24. Since everybody is getti'n all mushy like and talki'n about how they are so looki'n forward to seeing everybody I guess I'M just gonna have to throw's my hat in the ring and say ME TOO.
