  1. I was all up for making an offer.......and then noticed it was missing a button......sorry
  2. Crap not another one. Sorry to hear about your accident Eagle eye. I hope you recover and and are up and about in short order.
  3. Glad your Ok and was not on the MC at the time. however do as earlier suggested get the veh checked out. It does not take long to chew down a tire when alignment, specially toe in is out of adjustment.
  4. The T harness from M16A1MECH. Unless you don't mind splicing directly into the cigarette lighter harness is a pretty clean way to go. Either way make sure you add a second inline fuse on the GPS wire that is of the proper size for the GPS (if there is not already one on the GPS harness already). The fuse for the lighter socket itself will be too high for the lighter gauge wire supplied with the GPS. By the way which version of the Tomtom rider did you get? I had the Rider II and loved it. Its only short coming was the ability to see the screen in bright sunlight. Apparently the latest model which a couple months ago was advertized but not yet available was to have resolved that issue. The bluetooth on it worked great and also did a great job of linking up to my phone which I was told by those on the other end of my conversations was crystal clear.
  5. . Wow Dave I am super glad you are OK. Obviously it could have had a much worse ending and I am glad it did not. I hope you get checked out. Although you may feel ok you never know about delayed reactions to injury, specially when it comes to head, neck, rib and spinal issues. Not trying to scare you, just want you to be sure your OK. And yes I guess there is a lesson to be learned here because I know a lot of us, unlike the Harley riders we often see sitting under bridges, will continue to ride through almost anything and maybe we should think twice about the conditions we are willing to ride in.
  6. You could have saved my share and brought them to me at the international or New York rallies .
  7. Really Glad Dave came through this unscathed. Its getting a little depressing hearing of so many of our members going down and so early in the season (not that there is ever a good time to for anyone to go down) but I would much rather not have to hear it at all. Its unfortunate about his bike but as it has been said so often, it can be replaced were as our friends cannot. I hope we all try a little harder to stay safe.
  8. I was aware of having to invite each individual but having to restart the app I was not aware of, not having personally used it. Good to know. I will certainly be looking closer at SWconnect and a few others before I commit to anything. I just cannot afford to use up a lot of data this why I was looking at something more GPS based and that would run W/O using data.
  9. There are actually several good ones if you check Play store and some like GPS TRACKER work directly with satellite GPS rather than data and you can include as many family and friends as you like, their locations indicated on an overall map. The app is a free download. If you go to their website you can even locate your phone if it should get lost or go missing. My son's friend used the find feature and was able to direct police right to the door of someone who broke into his car and stole a number of things including his cell phone (the cell phone of course was their down fall). It works even when their is no phone signal.
  10. Wow you guys must have left early. And what are you doing leaving Don and Nancy at a motel - they are not married yet. ...............
  11. Unfortunately I had to drop out of going to MD. I had to stay home and repair my son's Ford explorer which suddenly developed a case of transmission oil in the rad and it needed to be taken care of before him and I use it to go to Nova Scotia next weekend. I was really looking forward to MD as I do every year and hope you all can manage to still have a good time without me. I was specially looking forward to seeing everybody (except Puc and Fool, after all who needs that kind of trouble while so far from home). Well Fool I could have tolerated until the rum balls ran out. Any way I hope you all are having a great time and a safe rides. I miss you all.
  12. Just saw this and was pretty stunned. Its not pleasant to have to got through the results of yet another accident. I hope and pray all your injury's heal well and that you don't go through the same long ordeal as you did with the last one. Again very sorry to hear this.
  13. Glad your back up on your feet and in good enough shape to seriously start tackling the job of putting your scoot back together. You May want to contact Paysaw he has a bunch of surplus parts. He has been buying and stripping bikes for parts build up his own and has some extras.
  14. Unfortunately I am going to have to drop out of going to MD. I have to stay home and repair my son's Ford explorer which suddenly developed a case of transmission oil in the rad and it needs to be taken care of before him and I use it to go to Nova Scotia next weekend. I was really looking forward to MD as I do every year and not really the way I planned to spend my time off work by doing on time off what I do every day of the week but given the situation I really have no choice. P/S Since I won't be there I hope there is somebody qualified to keep Marcarl under control. Oh and Puc and Fool this is not a plot to avoid you.

Another thing you can try is to pull your air cleaner and battery. to gain access to your TCI module remove all the connectors and check for dirt and/or corrosion. Carefully clean all pins and terminals.I had the exact same symptoms and found this to be the problem with my 89 and it has run like a dream since. Another thing that will give similar symptoms is Carb flooding gives the same symptom as though it were starving for fuel.
  16. Darn I could have handled the tell part....
  17. Still feeling the effects of having to put Jake down a few short months ago I can truly feel your loss. Sorry to hear you had to say good bye to a long time friend.
  18. That's our Carl although we have a lot of great members here, Carl ranks among the best of them.
  19. All this chatter about rum balls and apple Pie. I suggest to play it safe and leave it all alone ......I will let you know when the rum balls are all gone whether or not the rest of you made the correct decision.
  20. Can you blame them ?
  21. Also there are rubber plugs on top of the cam supports that plug the oil gallery's. Make sure they are in place and be careful not to knock them out while moving the cover in and out. they just sit there and are held in place by knobs inside the cover. I discovered this by accident a couple years after resealing my valve cover when changing my clutch and found one laying in the clutch cavity.
  22. Boy your awful liberal with that word style .... you sure you don't mean redundant
  23. Fear not old Puc ... Once they get a glimpse of you ...they will not surface again for who knows how many generations....Probably even spread rumors down there about surface monsters. :shock3: ......
  24. Still living in the past I see... In case you forgot that was a one time expereince and the fact you made a Tee shirt out of flypaper had a lo^t to do with that.
