  1. I took my old hoses to this place in burlington http://www.northernperformance.ca and they made up stainless steel replacelment lines for me for much cheaper than OEM lines would have cost and they use a DOT certified machine to make. them.
  2. Welcome back Steve. Kinda wondered what happened to you. Thought maybe you just got tired of us.
  3. Thanks to everyone who were able to make it, as always it was a pleasure to see everyone there . I apologize for not being there in time to greet everyone as they arrived, pretty much being one of the last to show up. It was my intention to get there ahead of everyone but sadly I miscalculated my timing and ability to find a parking spot. However it was great to see everyone, a great way to kick off the new year and I believe we all had a great time. To the lady's, my wife Marita who tends to be a bit shy at times really enjoyed your company. Its hard to get her to relate to many of my friends but for some unknown reason she always enjoys the company of the venture riders. go figure Well here's to a great and safe up and coming riding season :beer:and looking forward to doing it again next year.
  4. Bondic is just an adhesive and unless the surface is properly prepped it just peels off. Plastifix and plastex are solvent based and melt the materials together. You can also embed fiberglass cloth into the repair for added strength. You can form or build up missing tabs etc as well.
  5. Being a Victory Rider I guess that still allows you to be a VR member.
  6. Just 6 more hours. looking forward to seeing everyone.
  7. Sorry to hear your not going to make it Mike. I always enjoy You and Tammie's company.
  8. Just a reminder that this Sat Jan 9th is the Burlington 2016 meet and eat. I have made reservations for 6:30 PM at Burlington | Tuckers Marketplace Restaurant
  9. To the Burlington Ontario 5th Annual M&E 2016 and not too late to let me know if your coming. Its not mandatory to RSVP on the calendar but it will help to have a relatively close head count for convenience sake. Even if you RSVP a day or two before. There will however be a few extra seats for last minute decisions. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=461&day=2016-1-9&c=1
  10. Nice to hear from you Tom and Merry Christmas to you as well. Pssssst did you happen to get a Passport for Christmas so you can come up to visit us wonderful Canadians on Jan 9th. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=461&day=2016-1-9&c=1
  11. And for that reason I hope we all have a Very Merry Christmas and remember to strive for peace on earth everywhere.
  12. I am inclined to agree I have done extensive driving in both countries including several European countries and I find driving behavior is based more on population density than on nationality. It seems the higher the population of a given area the less considerate they are. This also seems to apply to areas were the life style is of a more stressful nature versus an area were the life style is more easy going.
  13. Yes and Merry Christmas to you and all the rest of VR riders as well
  14. Last time I was in Germany they did not care what lane you drove in. But if you did not move over to the lane to your right to make way for a vehicle overtaking you then you risked a 600 Euro fine. I think All of Canada and the USA should have a similar policy/law. Oh and by the way the consideration shown by Canada drivers tends to end once you get into the greater Toronto area were most drivers seem to have lost the matter normally found between ones ears.
  15. Dave as you know I am only 15 minutes or less away so if you get a chance call or PM me and we can set up a time to get together and check out your bike and see whats going on. Unless your buying substandard batteries or using a poor quality battery charger you either have a parasitic draw or your charging system is over charging and killing you batteries. I am more than happy to check it out for you.
  16. Try riders plus. so far for me they have been the cheapest at $860.00 per year. I might be able to get cheaper bike insurance elsewhere but only if I move all my other insurances over to them but They can't compete with my other insurance company on the other stuff. So all totaled leaving my other stuff with cooperators and my bike with riders plus gives me the cheapest overall package.
  17. I was told years ago when I was just a teenager by a friend of my fathers who was a lab tech for shell research that oil never wears out but only gets dirty and looses additives. Back when we used to change oil filters every second oil change he would say we had it backwards that we should be changing filters at regular intervalss and oil every second or or third filter change. I have never been one to change oil regularly once or twice a year and changed oil filters every other month and never lost an engine getting over 200,000 miles.out most of them. Also I tried syn oil in my bike and did not like the way the engine had more mechanicals noises. So zwitched back to dino oil. My brother who works for an oil.company says with today's technology in oil refining, oil is even better tha it was then. As far.as.diesel goes, it too has higher costs because they now have to get the sulpher out of the fuel and other impurities due to modern emissions standards. Just saying not justifing anything.
  18. Hey Carl do not know why I did not see this thread before now but for some reason I missed seeing it. Though I am sure glad to know no one got hurt, I am certainly sorry for your loss. Also feel free to call on me if you need a hand with anything. I would be more than happy to lend a hand or two if you need them.
  19. Back on the farm we had two wells. ..The first one we just dipped once because the pail came up empty:confused24:......Just say'n .............
  20. Glad that someone finally came to the right conclusion and corrected the issue before it become real bad state of affairs.
  21. That is great news for sure ( Although if it was because you had too much brain you could have had the surgery and passed the surplus on to me seen as how I seem to be missing a few, Not as many as Yammer :whistling:but enough .)............
  22. @cowpuc you mean to say you was born old . No wonder you and @Marcarl have so much in common
  23. I have watched the original three/trilogy, but when I heard the new one is episode 7, I got to my head. How did it go from 3 to 7 . So I got on google and investigated . Now as I understand it , The three original episodes I, II & III have been bumped to IV, V & VI, as they have created three so called prequels and named them episodes I, II & III which I have never seen and now they leap frogged and created episode VII . So does that mean I gotta go back and watch from the beginning again just so I will be able to understand what is going on in episode VII . On another note my grandchildren have never seen any of them and since between my wife, her sister and my daughter they own three Shih Tzu dogs, it will be interesting to see what my grand childrens reaction will be towards the Ewoks.
