i was given a set off a 2007 RK and the right one has the converter. I searched eBay for the left muffler part number and got one for $30.00 shipped. Now I have two left mufflers which should work fine. I slid them on to see how they sounded and liked what heard so now I will fab up some brackets when I gave time. I think I read the converter is in the right one through 2010 but not sure.

I have a Custom Dynamics modulator that is 2-3 years old. Flashes the LED under trunk bar plus the OEM incandescent bulb with no problems

I would have ridden this year but had to go to Minneapolis MN for the weekend (not on the RSV). Did drive through the Dells and Madison on the way home and saw bikes everywhere!

In general when repacking I have found that if you pack them too tight they can be louder since the packing becomes somewhat solid and doesn't absorb the sound as well.

I think Seaking mentioned it, but be sure to check to see if the rear shock links have been replaced. A PO could have lowered the rear end which would cause handling issues.

I use a tank bag on long trips. I use it with its magnets only and have never needed the straps that came with it.

Just installed the Baggershield two days ago and haven't had a chance to ride with it yet. Switched from a full face Shoei to a new modular Shoei this year and love it.

the filter I took off was Yamaha 5GH-13440-30. I don't normally use them but this was given to me with a jug of oil from the dealer. He gave me a free oil change as a customer satisfaction reward. Since I do my own work he gave me the materials.

I just finished installing the PL14610 (long yellow) with no problem. I purchased it at Advance Auto today. Their book specifies the ML number referenced a couple of posts back but that has been previously discussed in another thread as poor quality. Even though I have always used the PL14610 I did purchase the PL14612 based on the discussion in this thread. I will return it tomorrow. I'm not sure why I have always used the longer filter other than maybe it has more filtering capacity?? It is a little long put a simple tilt of it as I put it up into position does the trick.

14612 has worked on my last two bikes but it was/is really tight. So tight that I could see where bike manufacturing tolerances varying from bike to bike could make it not work on some.

You should be able to see the rear shock without removing anything. You'll need to get on your hands and knees to see it just in front of the rear tire. A flashlight may help but is not necessary. Engleharts has a pretty good tech who is familiar with the Venture which is not always the case with Yamaha dealers.

It does sound like the ignition switch. Dion (djh3) who replied above, makes a bypass that is plug and play. I have purchased one from him and it is a quality item. I had a dealer tell me last year they need to sell a tire before it reaches 5 years of age based upon the date code on the tire. If not sold after that they need to destroy it. Not sure how true that is but it seemed believable. I was travelling through the area and unexpectedly needed a rear tire. They had one tire in stock. A four year old Avon which they sold to me at a good price after I pointed out the date code. I don't remember what it cost me, but I would have paid more because I was stranded.

The Royal Star Tour Deluxe (non - fairing) uses a different light bar that a Royal Star Venture. They look very similar but wont interchange. If you use a RSTD light bar on a Venture you will need to remove the lower deflectors on the forks
