  1. I think the seals for the swing arm may get damaged from the removal process. I will also be replacing a leaky shock. I assume the y-pipes need to be removed to remove the swing arm bolts? it's been a few years since a had one of these swing arms out to pack the bearings but I know I didnt need seals. I am pretty sure if wasn't necessary to remove the y-pipes

  10. Sat on both bikes at the International bike show in Chicago last week. Both felt very much the same and also much like the Gold Wing. This is understandable since other than plastics and some electronics they are the same bike. They feel to have a low center of gravity. Both ran well - of course I put the same effort making engine notices with my lips as I sat on each:biker:

  12. The iSimple part # is 1BM-H81C0-V2. (Audio set kit). That would be the Yamaha number and as I am looking it mine there is a label with the number AZ2111. It is called "iSimple Gateway" media interface.

  15. Sat on the Indian at the International Motorcycle show in Chicago yesterday. Nice but not a Venture. Two different guys manning the Yamaha display said there will be a Venture replacement late this year. They had no details at all. One said part of the delay is to clear out large cruisers in inventory. But we have heard this before.

  24. yes, you will need to use the isolution lube. I don't recall exactly what it is called but I used to keep a tube of it in my toolbox for this job. It may even come with a new module. The correct name of this part is Ignition Module and it replaced the old points and condenser set up they used to use.
