  3. Sat on both bikes at the International bike show in Chicago last week. Both felt very much the same and also much like the Gold Wing. This is understandable since other than plastics and some electronics they are the same bike. They feel to have a low center of gravity. Both ran well - of course I put the same effort making engine notices with my lips as I sat on each:biker:

  5. The iSimple part # is 1BM-H81C0-V2. (Audio set kit). That would be the Yamaha number and as I am looking it mine there is a label with the number AZ2111. It is called "iSimple Gateway" media interface.

  8. Sat on the Indian at the International Motorcycle show in Chicago yesterday. Nice but not a Venture. Two different guys manning the Yamaha display said there will be a Venture replacement late this year. They had no details at all. One said part of the delay is to clear out large cruisers in inventory. But we have heard this before.

  15. As everyone has said AIS is not the problem or cure. I believe the first step should be a carb sync as long as the fuel as been treated regularly with Sea Foam

  17. yes, you will need to use the isolution lube. I don't recall exactly what it is called but I used to keep a tube of it in my toolbox for this job. It may even come with a new module. The correct name of this part is Ignition Module and it replaced the old points and condenser set up they used to use.
  18. I have a freshly re packed set of those mufflers in my shop. Pretty simple to do. I bought my fiberglass at my local dealer for the same price I could buy it on line. It was pretty cheap and was the only type they had. Moose Racing I believe was the product name and I think it cost less than $10.00. I am out of town so I can't go out to confirm this. You take off the chrome tips, remove a bolt holding the baffle, drive it out from the inlet end. I used a wooden dowel, maybe 1 or 1 1/4 inches in diameter of sufficient length. I tend to ignore all recommended safety precautions but I can assure you a dust mask, long sleeves, and gloves will save you a whole bunch of itching as I learned the hard way. No need to mess with carbs. My bike ran fine with these pipes. I took them off my RSTD before I traded it on my new Venture last fall. If anyone is interested in them let me know. I have decided to install some Harley take offs on the Venture.

  22. Using the RSTD mount will place your turn signals right where your lower deflectors are on your forks. I tried this when I saved my passing lamps from my RSTD I traded in on my new Venture. It will work if you don't mind removing the deflectors
