I have an 04 midnight RSV and usually do my own repairs, except for warrenty work. Then I have to take it to a dealer, which I am still looking for a good one. I had my motor replaced because of dirt getting in my air box under the gas tank, because dealer had not sealed the air box, this took from Dec. 06 to March 07. When I got it back the cruise control would not work and the radio would go silent after a few miles. Took it back when they could get to it, fixed the radio but not the cruise. Took it back again after 8000 miles on new motor to check air box and fix cruise. Dirt was again in air box because it was not sealed and had to order switch ass. for cruise. Took it back for fourth time to get cruise fixed, installed switch ass. and called me and said it was fixed. I live 50 miles from closest dealer, trailored it home, got on it next morning to ride to work went to use cruise it still doesn't work. Now I am really mad, so I leave work early to go by dealer and I ask if they even rode the bike to see if it worked and they said no!!! I had already talked to the manager the time before and said if I had trouble again I would not be back and he didn't even offer to make it right he just said bring it back and we will see what we can do.
So cruise is still not fixed I will take it to another dealer 100 miles away this winter and get it fixed.
I also called yamaha support and all they did was call the dealer and listen to what they said and told me that they had to go by what dealer told them and I could go to another dealer if I wanted too. Some help they were.
The dealer is in Texarkana, TX. if you are ever in that area don't trust them.
