1. Joe, I think if you added about 1/2 oz of MotorKote to the signal it should fix it! Got so darn busy over the weekend I could not get in touch with you. I will try this week my Friend! Jeff
2. wonder if it chirps?
3. Winesap7, it might help if you put the type of bike and year under your handle so folks can help you more on this topic. just a thought.
4. *oops* and there is also Jerry M.. Long time no see!
5. I have also noticed the engine pre or after whine stage that my engine runs smoother, quieter and more solid as well.
6. EXCELLENT! They Look GREAT!
7. OK Ponch, head over to IOWA now please!
8. Maybe from now on with everybody lets start posting what type of oil's that your using when your trying--testing MoterKote, to really see if it makes a difference in the future. Myself I am using MK / with 10/40 Synthetic Amzoil. I do want to test Rotella as well one day; some are saying it even makes the sound even quieter.
9. Dave, Just for the heck of it.. what oil are you using with the MK ?
10. And where the Heck have you been Bryan ? didn't get my email last month for a ride? You Iggying me? wife and I have been past your town a few time the past few weeks your hiding from me I know it! lets compare whines one day Bro! never thought of that when we did the IL trip. Jeff
11. Yep, still going to call you *lol* But have to great ready for a long ride to IL. Will you be home this weekend Joe?
12. Dan, that is a perfect way of saying it. (amplitude of the noise and the duration band before it goes away) Joe is the person that did his basket change this past week. Joe gets is Rotella at walmart I believe. I myself use Amzoil but wanting to try Rotella maybe on the next change as well. just for my own piece of mind. Otherwise I am sticking with Amzoil if there is no change of difference. Jeff
13. With what I have been through all these years with that scream. It almost sounds like it is gone to me though! ALMOST!
14. NOTE TO ALL: MotorKote will NOT REMOVE this whine some of us have, It will just make it more tolerable and make the whine range tighter and more Quite mainly in 3rd , 4th and 5th. Did I describe that right? I just do not want folks to thing this stuff will remove it all together. However, I am very impressed that after all this time , that there IS now something out there to help us deal with this problem a little bit better. I am now interest on the posts on what oil types are working with the sound range even more so. I myself have been using Amzoil and some comments are saying Rotella is even more Quite! Ummmm hard to believe. Jeff
15. Well, geeeze maybe I did good then. First of all thanks everybody..and to learn how to spell GAUGE Second. I miss flying myself, maybe one day I could do that again. OK, the trick came to me when Freebird posted that link to that gauge he liked a lot , what I did was go down to my Local Copy Works had the guy pull that Gauge up on his computer select the color with his high power Photo-Shop, Then had him copy that color onto a transparency sheet like we use to use in the old days for overhead projectors for $2.11 (20 per sheet) That was the easy part, hardest part is removing the rings with-out gouging your palm with a small screw driver. If anybody is interested I can punch holes in the right spots for you and send you off the pieces I even found the right hole punch. The other trick is to line up the holes on each printed ring on the transparency then the trick is to make a fine cut from hole to hole under were the gauge needle comes to rest on the stop. Another trick is going the be adding this to the front plate on the volts front panel. working on that right now. OR do some kind of write up if there is enough interest for others to attempt this project. I still am trying to get the right mix of model paint to remove the sunpro logo..almost there but might give up on that. but I am getting real close to that color now. there is a lot of Grey in the sunpro colors on the white gauges. Paint the needle with testers gloss black , at first I just used a black sharpie but maybe that would fade over time? I will post my final results in a month or so, when I can not ride anymore in Iowa. I figured that if I messed up to bad I would just go and get another set of gauges there cheap enough. I think to most important part is to use "PONCH'S" kits that he has been making. there high Quality and you can not beat the price, He has a lot of work into helping us do this mod. Sure glad I did not have to worrie about making those plates, brakets ect. The second thing that will be needed is the 3 parts of color/clear-coat from colorite. Jeff
16. Folks let me know what you think.. I need the criticism. - Added the antique look to the back plate of the gage, - Added black to the (florescent needle), - Panted the back plate (new pearl white) the MM colors, - Painted the Sunpro Outer Rings (ceramic Ivory) MM colors. - Painted the Sunpro plastic inner Rings (ceramic Ivory) MM colors. I was wondering if you think that I should leave them chrome or make them the same color as the back plate? not sure yet. it almost looks pretty cool like this. *LOL* there is not really any chrome when looking toward the speedometer so I was thinking this might be the trick I am in the playing stage right now. Lemme know what ya think! gages not installed until next month when I can not ride anymore. taking front fairing off to do about 3 other projects at the same time. Thanks, Jeff
17. Larry, There are no reverse kits at this time for the RSV. That was my biggest concern/worry when switching over. Come to find out after the conversion the bike is so easy to push around even with the wife on it as well. I always pull into the garage front first and then when I go riding I grab the light-bar up front and it rolls backward with ease! I can even be on the trike and push it with my legs easier then I could when it was 2 wheels. (no balancing act now). Now you asked about the smoothness... after about 300 miles the shocks break in and the ride is real nice. at first I was going to adjust my rear shocks , but Hanniagan said to wait. I did and now is all good. there are 5 adjustment levels on the rear shocks on the kit. NOTE: if you do decide to convert. I highly recommend the rake kit for your steering. other wise you WILL be adding it later, Feel free to call me anytime if you want to talk more about your concerns I am so GLAD I myself did this switch! Don't think I ever rode this much in one summer before. and my jaw is still hurting from grinning so much! Good luck, Jeff

MM part

That was manufactured by a gentleman on another site. I think he has passed away and nobody else has ever started making them again. I ask about that for my MM a few years ago. very cool. Jeff
22. Joe, post to me after 200 miles on that basket please. I will also be calling you maybe Friday. Jeff
