Looking for soem upgradesalthough when I first got the RSTC i said i wouldnt change anything. Well I guess Im just a guy and want improvemenmts. SO who has done the vmax rear drive swap ? What is needed besides the rear. What year rear should be used and any mods have to be done? Fuel milage vs passing power . Is it peppier?
-
What about the claims of changing the timing. Have you tried every preset and what is your fuel milage. is there a setting that drops your milage considerably?

ANy spacer should work. A few washers or pipe or nut.

ToyOdie. You gotta call m man we have the same bike and I ordered my risers from Pinwall. You aregonnarun into asmall problem. The 02 risers have a longer stud than on the 96. I went to my local hardware store and picked up steel 3/4" pipe about an inch long in order to mount them. You wont be able to get a wrench on the nut now because the tree has tuff in the way. A 19 mm or 3/4 socket fits perfectly. Good luck. Ill pm you my phone number

Forward Controls Who has them Pros and Cons
muaymendez1 replied to muaymendez1's topic in Watering Hole
i saw that on the classifieds. Thats why I was asking. Gotta gather up my pennies, and it may be gone before I finish gathering -
I hear what you are saying. I had no the stock bars on and they felt right but I wanted diffferent bars. i wanted space to mount things on and I wanted my arms spread apart a bit more. So i got these road glide bars but then realizd they were shorter. 2 inch less rise and that made me lean over when riding. So these risers made it right. i have a set of riser spacers I will try out in a few days and see if I like those on or go back to what i have now. As for ausie. i found the risers on ebay. And there were alot of items over seas that I refrained from buying due to the shipping. But you are overseas so shipping should be less to you than to the states.

The are shorter than stock bars but wider as well which i did like. i wanted them pulled back more and here they are with 99 venture risers. i think i may try the riser spacers to give 1 more inch of riser and 1 inch of pull back. So far i like it.

Heel - Toe shifter has to go!
muaymendez1 replied to Owen's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have a heel toe willing to trade for just a Toe shifter. My shifter has some pitting on the chrome. I dont wax or polish it when the bike gets washed. Will take a picture if anyone is interested in a trade. or has a toe shifter for sale.- 60 replies

I was riding with a few V rods today and loved the way they were able to lean more While I was scraping pegs. I had Forward controls on my 04 shadow and I just loved them. The only problem was not being able to stand and shift positions. Today I am thinking I could deal with that. I rode 3 hours without having to shift my rear once. I think The seat is breaking in my ass. SO what do you guys think about forward controls.

Side Gapping, any one done it yet?
muaymendez1 replied to Darren's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have heard of this before . The days when i wante dto make my 86 cutlass a hot rod. High flow exhaust , low drag fans, remove the ac compressor, side gap the plugs, stronger coils. All for nothing I still didnt have a hot rod and dont remember caring about fuel consumption. My plugs are working great, the bike runs like a top. i ll leave well enough alone. -
I have the same khrome werks mufflers. its loud but not too loud once you get moving. Its that initial rumble thats loud.

http:// Im just gonna show this picture again. I didnt think it was supposed to look like this and it only took. approx 7 ounces of fluid and 20 min to flush and get the whole system clean. Clutch and brake. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh221/muaymendez/IMAG0236.jpg- 15 replies

20W-50 is the recomended oil as per the manufacturers owners manual. And Valvoline is Motorcycle specific without friction modifiers. As sad on the bottle "Superior wet clutch Protection"

How do I lube my clutch handle?
muaymendez1 replied to Red Rider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My bike is the 96 tc so the manuals may be different but just reading mine it says to use DOT4 and use chain lube on pivot points every 4K miles. That includes brake and clutch lever pivot, foot brake pivot, sidestand, sidestand switch, shifter peadal,. Now that I have read this I think I will change my rear drive oil, and lube up the brake caliper as well.- 15 replies

How do I lube my clutch handle?
muaymendez1 replied to Red Rider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
thats it exactly. NOTCHY. I squeeze the break and you get a lil pressure but you want more so you squeeze mor and the front dives because you gave it too much. Almost like a rusty tool clearing some of the rust when oiled up.- 15 replies

I have straight risers on my Tour classic. looking to see if anyone has a pair of venture risers they have taking up space in thier garage. The venture risers pull the bars back an inch., Even if I got the riser exenders it will only make it 1 1/4" high not back.
-
The video reminds me of how i used to check the tire pressure and fill the tire on my wing. It was simpler to do. only proble m I see is not grabbing the frontt brake while picker her up. That will keep the bike from rolling on you. Carpets will keep the crash bars from rashing and i wouldnt start the bike up after leaning over for a long period of time. Give the fluids time to settle before you run her.

My brake lever is doing the same thing. I found that flushing the fluid aides in making it work smoother. What color is your fluid?- 15 replies

time for clutch upgrade
muaymendez1 replied to royalstar09's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
did Skydocs upgrade on my buddies 99 . It worked great . Earl( skydoc) also answered my questions while i had teh bike apart.. WIth his help and the parts the job was a sinch. I am beginning to notice some slipping on my clutch and I will be buying the pressure plate and upgrading to a full friction plate. I hope by nipping it in the bud I can avoid the cost of replacing all the friction disks. :thumbsup2: to Earl ( skydoc-17)
