  1. "Great weather" is relative. If one is a duck hunter, than cool damp, overcast sky is "great weather". For a skier it's fresh snow. At my age, just being around for any weather is a blessing. So...... Whatever it be though, just getting together with old friends and making new overcomes any adverse weather..... Now how's that for a Minnesoda outlook????
  2. Ouch!
  3. Gary tells me he's been in contact with the "Man", and he has promised great weather for the entire week-end. So, we'll keep the light on for you and it will be good to see you both.
  4. Yah. Y-He sure had the touch. Gary tried to take your place and damn near blew up the whole building.... It did earn him a new screen name though :rotfl:
  5. Oh Oh! Just heard a rumor that MikeAliasMike from Iowa may be issuing a Chili Challange. Had Mikes chili at the Venture Round up in Cody two years ago. May have to take this one a bit more serious. Particularly if he has Ms Jodi helping him.:rotfl: So, bring it on Mike..... :stirthepot:
  6. If you go to the web site, www.porkinthepines.com you can see the map of where it's located. Am also trying to get the address of his owl house, Google can find that one.

  9. Just got off the phone with Squidley. They are on the way to pick up Little Bit and take her to the hospital. They will be staying at the hospital and will up-date everyone as soon as they know anything further.
  10. Dealers or local shops. Good service is good service and should be recognized.
  11. Will be working on that this week.
  12. Some of the best ideas seem to pop up during casual conversations. This one, raised between the salt-shot-and lime is no exception. More often than not when talking about service received from a dealership it is to complain about the quality of service, the cost of the service or the lack of service. However, every now and then, someone takes the effort to identify a dealer who goes out of their way to provide exceptional service. It was suggested that whenever such a dealer is identified that a thank you letter be sent to the dealer from the Venture Riders thanking them for their service to one of our members. Letters of compliment mean a lot to dealerships, the service managers, and the respecive technicians. So, whenever anyone has an exceptional experience with a dealership or any other service provider, if they will send me a PM providing the name/address of the dealership, the names of the parties involved, and the date of the service, I will generate a letter from the Venture Riders thanking them for the service provided to one of our members. And if memory serves me correctly, this was suggested by Erv and Teri (Pakidaho) somewhere between the home brewed beer and the Taquila...
  13. Well, have been home a week now from Cody and have finally started getting caught up. Had 397 E-mails waiting for me in addition to about 2 dozen phone calls from clients to return when I walked in the door. But it was worth it. For those who have as yet been unable to make an International Rally, put it on your Bucket List. They just keep getting better and better and I don't believe you will find a better group of folks to hang out with. Have been ready all the posts sending congrats and compliments to Condor, Lone Eagle and the others who, without questions worked their butts off to make this years event a roaring success. But in reading those posts it became readily apparent that the folks that really made the 2011 International Rally a success have been grossly neglected. So, let me take this opportunity to correct that glaring slight. Any event; be it a Maintenace Day, Local Meet and Eat, Vogel, Ork in the Pines, or any one of the impromptu get-to-gathers would be nothing if it wasn't for the folks that show up. Be it a ride across town or across the continent, if you didn't take the effort to come out, buy tickets, make donations and the countless other seeming "little" actions it would all be for naught. So, to each and every one who participates, a rousing thank you. It is you folks that make each and every event, large or small, a huge success.
  14. HUH??? Must have been dreaming Friday night in Bismarck... Or was that just a heavy dew?????:rotfl:

  23. Keep it between the ditches with the shiney side up and have a great ride to Cody. Looks like Cody is shaping up to be as big as, if not bigger than the Colorado Rally.
