  1. Yes there are many Christians here on the site! However we on the site avoid conversations on the board concerning sex, religion and politics as eventually they can lead to confrontations. It is OK to state your faith though, and even praise the Lord if you please! There is a separate Forum for prayer requests, etc. I am a Bible believing Born again Christian myself. Welcome aboard! I'm sure you will find semi local riders to meet in your area, and watch the forums for meet and eats to attend and get to know people! We are a very friendly bunch here. You don't have to be crazy around here, but it sure helps!! If you have technical questions feel free to ask, this group is very knowledgeable!
  2. Looks good Dave! Yup, John is a good guy and fits right in with the VR culture!
  3. Hey, I'm trailering this year...
  4. As long as you are setting on them they are waterproof!!
  5. Looking forward to meeting you! Safe trip!
  6. I dunno, had my 1st gen over 100 a couple of times but I generally rode at exprressway speeds or maybe 5 over. You are right, anything over 60 and the fuel economy goes south...
  7. PS shame you can't get over here, I would be glad to troubleshoot it for you!
  8. You are correct, the yellow line is the brake line. Blue is running lights. Look behind the licence plate holders, there are all of the wires there for turn, brake, and running lights... While you are in there remove the bulb for the brake light and see if it still blows fuses. If you ohm the yellow line, with bulbs in you will see a low value ohms but not a direct (zero ohms) short. With the bulb removed the ohms should be very high, like infinity. The most obvious place to look for a short is the brake light socket area...
  9. ...and remember when a couple goes down the stroll line to do the first step break step longer than the return step break step or else the stroll line will migrate south (or west)!
  10. Antifreeze has to be safe for aluminum blocks. There is a whole bunch of different problems that can pop up on low mileage bikes due to lack of use...
  11. I don't think Larry is making them any more...
  12. Not sure Ray, never played around disconnecting wires. A disconnected wire will give you some kind of error signal for sure, but not sure which E it would give..
  13. Try online banking and pay your credit cards off waaaay before the due date! Since I started doing that my credit score has skyrocketed about 30 points...
  14. That top thing is a different chat! The real chat is a separate page, the status is at the bottom of the forums page, and it is accessed by the Chat button on the header...
  15. These motors like higher RPM's! I would say the power band is around 3000 to 5500 RPM and I think the limiter kicks in around 8000. Elmira is not too far from Chaffee NY the site of the WNY Regional Rally this August. Please try to attend, it's a great time!!! http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?93369-2015-wny-mini-rally-itinerary
  16. Seeing as I fell in love with the Venture the first time I saw one, the answer is obvious...
  17. We have tried other seats and the stock pillow tops are best for us...
  18. Yup! You are getting some sort of advance out of your pressure sensor so I doubt it is the problem. Now one remote possibility is someone put an '83 TCI in which works 180 degrees out of phase with the rest of the years. Check the part number, it should start with 41 and not 26...
  19. Yup, when I really got on my '84, and sometimes on the 2nd gen as well I get the old oil level indication...
  20. Patmac is correct, if one of the intake valves is out of tolerance it will suck either more or less air depending on which way it is out of adjustment. This of course is going to affect the air flow through the carb, affecting the vacuum level of the carb...
  21. OK Ray, from what I see from the wiring diagram the relay coil has a Red/Blue wire which goes to the CLASS fuse which would be +, and a Blue/White wire which should supply ground...
  22. Sizes run small, I would need a 3X, they don't even offer a 2X...
  23. Eagerly awaiting a response from Pucster on how it went...
  24. Hey Charles, I managed to sneak in a ride today with my neighbor and did about the same mileage! Absolute GREAT day for a ride!!
