I'll send you a picture. Uh...it may not be a Venture though.

Dan, You don't need plugs. Those are Iridium plugs with less than 3,000 miles on them. Quit tinkering and ride the thing.

Don't remember if I posted this or not. Aryela Nelson was born on October 15th. 8 lbs 12 ounces. Proud parents are Brandon and Brenda Nelson in East Texas. Hope to meet her in person soon.

I am thankful for many things and all of my friends that make up the VentureRider family are high on that list. There is something very special in knowing that there is a large community here always willing to lend a hand, offer an encouraging word, simply be here in times of need. You have all brought me much happiness, many laughs and shown what true friendship really means. I am thankful for each and every one of you and hope that as we enter the Christmas season now that you all know what a special group you are. Thank you so much for being a part of the VentureRider family.

No, you should be OK just reading the email. But if there is an attachment like a pdf file or basically any type of attachment that you have to double click to open, that is when you can have problems.

George, Sounds like you got it figured out but I don't understand about the dimensions being different. I probably made 200 of those adapters and fitted them to first gen stands from any and every year and never had one that was different. One thing that is critical is that it does not break over too far when on the stand. You want it to break over just a little pass vertical. If it breaks over too far, it is extremely difficult to get back off the stand.

You folks are lucky still. You shouldn't even have opened the attachment. PayPal will not send such attachments via email. They will tell you to login to your PayPal account and follow the instructions there if there is any kind of an issue. They will not ask you to click on a link in an email to go to your account. There are a lot of scams going on and often all you have to do is attempt to open an attachment and you are trapped. In the future, do NOT open an attachment that you are not 100% sure about.

HA....your work is NEVER done.

LOL...just GOTTA turn it into Harley Bashing huh? Actually....to get this story back on TRACK...it's a Black Owl.

It is probably legit. I made and sold close to 200 of them I think.

Yea, it's broke. Google changed something and I haven't gotten around to figuring it out yet. I will look at it later today if I get the chance.

Folks, one thing that you have to keep in mind in regard to the prizes. Most of the time some are donated and/or deeply discounted for us. That is why the value of some of the prizes is often worth much more than what you could give out in cash. For example, some of you have recommended a gift card for a hotel chain or something like that as opposed to a weekend getaway somewhere. So maybe, I'm not saying it's the case this time, the weekend getaway was donated or deeply discounted. It is a nice prize and though maybe somebody wins it that may not be able to use it, wouldn't we be kind of dumb to refuse such a nice donation?

That just reminded me....we have GOT to build a bigger corner here. The one that we have is just standing room only now.

Brake Pad....that is a good idea. Not for the Grand Prize but for a door prize or drawing. One winner will get a lifetime membership to VentureRider.org. It's a done deal.

Folks, this thread has the potential of blowing up but it doesn't have to. Though it no doubt has political overtones, the warning about the security of your personal information being at risk on the healthcare site is real. Please take the warning for what it is. Regardless of which side you are on, the security issue is real and everybody should take note of it.

You cannot just change out the antennas. The stock antennas do not use standard mounts. The fold down mounts will need to be replaced. Firestik used to make an AM/FM antenna that looked like the CB antenna but it was actually wrapped in nylon line instead of copper wire. I am pretty sure that they discontinued that product. That's what is on the '99 that I sold to Yammer Dan.

OK...I figured out what is causing it. It is the way that you have your options setup in the UserCP. You need to go to the UserCP and then click on "Edit Options" in the left menu. Then scroll down until you see the section for "Miscellaneous Options". For the "Message Editor Interface", change it to "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing".

I think I can have it painted cheaper than I can replace it.

I knew it was started in fun but it was some worthwhile discussion.

I've owned two Kia Sorentos. A 2004 and a 2012. I had absolutely no problems with either and would not hesitate to buy another one if it met my needs. I sold the 2012 because it was a 4 cylinder and did not have the towing capacity that I ended up needing. At the time for the small boat I was pulling, the V6 would have done just fine but I ended up getting an Avalanche instead and glad I did because then I ended up with a bigger boat. Bottom line is, I really liked my Kias and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Ok folks, I've been watching this thread from the beginning and waiting to give most of you a time to express your thoughts and opinions. Here is mine. I think that changing the name and/or focus of this group would be a mistake. As Black Owl has stated, the VTS did that and they have never again been nearly as active as they were before. There are a number of sites out there for other brands and models. There are a few "all brand" type sites. What makes this site special and unique is that it is dedicated to the Yamaha Venture. Though we have always welcomed riders of all bikes, the focus of the technical areas and etc. here has been the Yamaha Venture and Royal Star models. There is no doubt that it is the love of the Yamaha V4 that brought us all together. Yes, some of us have slowly moved to other bikes over the years but we stay here because of the many friendships that we have made. It is a formula that has worked and I would personally not want to change it. But...I will listen to your opinions on the matter. Has it been a little slower lately? Yes it has. Does that really matter? Not so much to me. There have been slow times before and it has bounced back. It is just the nature of such things. Could it get slower yet as the Venture is discontinued and there are less new ones being bought? Sure it could but only time will tell. Heck, we might find it even getting more active. How many of us have run across Yamaha dealers that know NOTHING about the Venture? Now that the dealers won't even have any on the floor, they will know even less and we may find more riders looking for answers to some of the same question that led many people here to begin with. So yes, I do get a bit concerned at times when things get a little slower but I don't think it is time to panic. We still get new members here every week and our actual paid membership numbers have remained fairly constant, though flat, for several years now. So my hope is that we just continue to enjoy what we have here. Continue to spread the word about VentureRider.org and continue to enjoy the friendships that we share.

Oh not to worry. I am here and watching this thread as well as the other one. I am always open to the thoughts and suggestions of the members here but my personal opinion is that it would be a mistake to change the name of this group. Hey....we are what we are. All are welcome but VentureRiders is our identify and I would hate to lose that.

No, nothing has changed. I seldom use that feature but just tried it and it seemed to work as it should.
