  1. HEY...my bike has the Harmon Kardon stereo. Maybe I'll give that a try.
  2. I just want to personally wish you all a very merry Christmas. If I'm not mistaken, we are getting ready to enter our 10 year of this club...maybe 9...I've lost track. Either way, I am so blessed to have the quality of folks that make up the membership of this organization. Yes, there is the occasional disagreement but most are handled with dignity and grace and I know of no other such forum where there is such a level of mutual respect between one another. These are the things that make it a pleasure to login here and keep up with all my friends. Regardless of your religious beliefs, I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, whatever it is to YOU. I am blessed to have you all in my life. Don
  3. That trailer on Ebay is really nice. A bit pricy for me and I really don't need a trailer with riding the Harley and all.
  4. Cast my vote for him also.
  5. I just bought my brother in law a heated fleece jacket last week for Christmas. He doesn't ride but recently moved to Ohio from Texas and is freezing to death here. So...the one that I bought him does not hook to a bike but has it's own 7.4 volt lithium ion battery. Charges in about 3 hours and will last from 2 to 8 hours depending upon the heat setting. Says "Cabelas" on it but says "made by Gerbing" on the inside. Very nice jacket.
  6. Fantastic....we never now how a simple act of kindness may affect somebody's life forever.
  7. Ok...I have sat back and just let this go even though I still don't entirely understand the beef. The reason I don't understand it is because Condor has said many times that he does this for the members and makes little to nothing on these things and in fact, would have lost money a couple of times. That being the case, I honestly don't know why he is so upset because of an add from another reputable vendor. Not to mention the fact that he has gotten more exposure from this thread discussing the ad than he had ever gotten without it. I was willing to just let it go and add no additional comments until this last post in which he says " Personally, I don't give a damn about this website, but I do care a lot for it's members and their common love of Venture MC." Now to me, this website IS the members here and without this website, he and the rest of us would never have heard of or met many of the friends that we have made. So to not give a damn about this website is an offensive remark to me after the many years and hours I have spent getting it started and keeping it going. I'm done with this thread. If anybody wants another comment from me about this they can send me a PM. Had Condor sent me a PM to begin with instead of going off here then perhaps it could have been resolved in another way. I tell you what, I just marked Condor's membership paid in full for an additional 5 years. That should come close to compensating him for any money he may have lost on these items that he was making no or very little money on. I'm sorry this all happened but I am now done with it.
  8. I had Verizon DSL and never had a problem. Once Frontier took it over, it was OK for a while and then became terrible. Constantly dropping out and I had to cycle the modem on and off multiple times a day to restore service. It may be OK where you are but I recently dropped them and went with Armstrong cable in my area. I am very happy with them so far.
  9. If they are offering you the internet through the satellites, you may not be happy with it. Satellite internet is fine if is a choice between dial up and satellite but not nearly as good as DSL or cable.
  10. So sorry to hear about this. There are never words enough to express how much we care and hurt when a friend is going through such things. Please know that you are in sincerely in our hearts and prayers.
  11. Unfortunately, the map was provided through an API from Google. In their infinite wisdom, they changed things and the maps stopped working. I'm looking at a way to get it back without having to start all over.
  12. That ad has been here for a few weeks now and it has already been discussed. SuperBrace is one of the few companies that still make a product for the first gen Venture and should be applauded for still supporting the bikes that many here ride. They were the very first to offer the much needed fork brace for the Venture and have been doing so for many many years now. Yes, their price is higher than the alternative but they are also a business with employees to pay, overhead and etc. They offered to pay a very small fee and offer our members a discount and I thought it was a nice gesture on their part. I have never stated that anybody should buy from them instead of from Condor but there is an option. This is nothing that I haven't also done to myself. I am a huge fan of Diamond R Accessories. I was making and selling center stands for the RSV but Diamond R also offered one. Theirs was much more expensive than mine but had a nicer finish being chromed and etc. I did not feel cheated if somebody chose to purchase their product over mine and I did not feel that the membership here was not supporting me in that case. It is not about not supporting the member vendors. It is about giving the members options and not being afraid to let the marketplace work.
  13. Congrats. Nice accomplishment. I did another after that first one. Did a Bunburner a couple of weeks later. After submitted it yet but will soon. I did get my package from the first one.
  14. I'll send you a picture. Uh...it may not be a Venture though.
  15. Dan, You don't need plugs. Those are Iridium plugs with less than 3,000 miles on them. Quit tinkering and ride the thing.
  16. Don't remember if I posted this or not. Aryela Nelson was born on October 15th. 8 lbs 12 ounces. Proud parents are Brandon and Brenda Nelson in East Texas. Hope to meet her in person soon.
  17. I am thankful for many things and all of my friends that make up the VentureRider family are high on that list. There is something very special in knowing that there is a large community here always willing to lend a hand, offer an encouraging word, simply be here in times of need. You have all brought me much happiness, many laughs and shown what true friendship really means. I am thankful for each and every one of you and hope that as we enter the Christmas season now that you all know what a special group you are. Thank you so much for being a part of the VentureRider family.
  18. No, you should be OK just reading the email. But if there is an attachment like a pdf file or basically any type of attachment that you have to double click to open, that is when you can have problems.
  19. George, Sounds like you got it figured out but I don't understand about the dimensions being different. I probably made 200 of those adapters and fitted them to first gen stands from any and every year and never had one that was different. One thing that is critical is that it does not break over too far when on the stand. You want it to break over just a little pass vertical. If it breaks over too far, it is extremely difficult to get back off the stand.
  20. You folks are lucky still. You shouldn't even have opened the attachment. PayPal will not send such attachments via email. They will tell you to login to your PayPal account and follow the instructions there if there is any kind of an issue. They will not ask you to click on a link in an email to go to your account. There are a lot of scams going on and often all you have to do is attempt to open an attachment and you are trapped. In the future, do NOT open an attachment that you are not 100% sure about.
  21. HA....your work is NEVER done.
  22. LOL...just GOTTA turn it into Harley Bashing huh? Actually....to get this story back on TRACK...it's a Black Owl.
  23. It is probably legit. I made and sold close to 200 of them I think.
  24. Yea, it's broke. Google changed something and I haven't gotten around to figuring it out yet. I will look at it later today if I get the chance.
  25. Folks, one thing that you have to keep in mind in regard to the prizes. Most of the time some are donated and/or deeply discounted for us. That is why the value of some of the prizes is often worth much more than what you could give out in cash. For example, some of you have recommended a gift card for a hotel chain or something like that as opposed to a weekend getaway somewhere. So maybe, I'm not saying it's the case this time, the weekend getaway was donated or deeply discounted. It is a nice prize and though maybe somebody wins it that may not be able to use it, wouldn't we be kind of dumb to refuse such a nice donation?
