  1. A few years ago, I an order for a stand and didn't have any made up. I took mine off and shipped it to the buyer. I always planned to make some more but never did. So...........now you know the "rest of the story".
  2. Dan, you don't need to worry about air PERIOD. It has a YSS rear shock that does not use air. It has Sonic Springs in the front that also don't really need air. Just ride and enjoy. Also, all the major maintenance is done. Steering head bearings have been repacked. Valves have been adjusted. Carbs have been removed and floats properly set. There is a white cord on the left handlebar to plug the Ipod, MP3, whatever into that will play when the radio is set on auxiliary. Rear end oil was recently changed with Mobil synthetic. Engine has, and has always had, Mobil 1 Racing 4T. Current oil has about 100 miles on it. The only think you might want to do is check the air pressure in the tires. Just go for a ride already.
  3. SkyDoc sent me this and I thought it was pretty interesting. Not real practical I don't think but maybe worth it for a small engine that you need to store through the winter with gas in it. I still think a can of Stabil or Seafoam is easier though. http://goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14679
  4. hmmmmmm.....some secrets are just hard to keep.
  5. They are hosted on the server of a member who isn't very active any longer. I'll see what I can do.
  6. OK folks, the bike is resting comfortably at it's new home. Does anybody recognize this place.
  7. Those are Firestik antennas. The antennas on the '99 models were junk. Yamaha changed to a different design after the first year. These work very well though and are easy to tune.
  8. Here in a few minutes, the RSV will be heading for its new home. It is a bittersweet day because I love the bike and will miss it so it is a sad day for me. It is a GREAT day though in that I know it is going to a good home and is going to make somebody very happy. He knows all about VentureRider.org and will be checking in soon I'm sure.
  9. Well I got the boat home yesterday. Took it out on a small lake with the dealer rep and everything worked perfectly. Got it home and got the new Lowrance 7HDI depth finder installed. It's a combination GPS, Chart Plotter, Sonar and Down Imaging unit with a 7" screen really nice unit. As we were looking through the boat, we came upon a full camper top that we didn't even know was included. It was in packages and looks like it had never been opened. Don't know how much we will use it but it was a nice bonus. So today we will take it to Lake Erie. May even stay on it overnight, we'll see. Eileen says that we are going to and I've found that she often gets her way.
  10. Well today is the day. We pick the boat up this afternoon. Taking it out on a local lake with the dealer and then load it up and bring it home. Got to install the depth finder when I get it home and then off to Lake Erie either late this afternoon or tomorrow morning. After I gas it up. I have a feeling that the dealer is not going to top off the tank. I don't know for sure but it's either 75 or 100 gallons. OUCH!
  11. As most of you know, we have something called the SAF Fund. Those funds are used to send flowers to members families when needed, putting up the deposit money and etc. for our international rallies, various other causes. Black Owl has done a fantastic job managing that fund and we all owe him a big round of applause for doing so. I would ask that the $5.00 "dropped bike fine" be sent directly to Black Owl to be added to that fund. I will ask that he respond to this thread and let you know how it should be sent. Thanks Much
  12. I've eaten there a couple of times and enjoyed it. If you ever watched Mash, that was the place that Klinger was always talking about. It's worth trying.
  13. OK Brian, ask and ye shall receive. I have added the "My Posts" feature towards the right side of the lower menu bar at the top. Right beside the "Log Out" button. The color options can be done also but please give me a few days on that one to get them designed.
  14. Some of you may have noticed a comment that Dingy made in a thread about my new Touring Hogs site that it is using newer software that what I am using here. The reason for that was simply because I had to pay for the new version when I started the new site. Actually they have an even newer version but I don't feel that it is ready yet and don't want to fight with the errors and etc. until it becomes really stable. The fact is, this site is running VBulletin 3.8. The new Touring Hogs site is running VBulletin 4.1. There are some fairly significant differences in layout and etc. but really nothing major. It has some integrations with social networks such as Facebook that we don't have here. I actually have those features turned off on the new site. It also has a home page, CMS, that is included with the forum software. In my opinion, the home page isn't nearly as good as what we have here. The main reason I have not upgraded the software here is due to the MANY customizations that I have done to this site. A lot of them would have to be totally redone and many would not work at all and probably not be done. I am keeping the Touring Hogs site much simple in regards to customizations. Only additions are things that can be done with add ons and NOT programming/template manual changes are being done. If I upgrade the software here, that is the same approach I would take because doing all the programming customizations is just too difficult and have to be re-done anytime there is a security upgrade and etc. I want to give YOU the chance to state your opinion though. Do YOU want the forum software updated or do you prefer to keep it as it is now? Thanks for your input.
  15. Or...just click on this link and then add it to your bookmarks. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=8
  16. I don't really understand why you find it difficult. It is "First Generation Venture Tech Talk". What can I do to make it easier?
  17. No...you WERE my new best friend but that was before you broke up with that long legged blonde.
  18. Nice mods you did. I sure don't need a tricky boat though.
  19. Not to fear my friends. I've owned several boats over the years and I'm well aware of the money pits that they can be. This one is going to be different...right.... As for gas mileage...I don't know but expect 2 - 3 MPG. We'll see.
  20. I have one that you can borrow. I live in Oberlin and don't know when I'll be through there but would be happy to mail it to you. Just send me a PM with your address and I'll get it on the way.
  21. We were talking about that today. Haven't come up with a name yet but we will.
  22. WOW...very good. She said in Galena and she was going to do it. She sure didn't waste anytime. Give her our congrats.
  23. Hey folks...it's all in fun. I knew when I bought the Harley that I would need to have VERY THICK skin. I get a laugh out of these posts so don't worry about that. Now you ALL go to your corners and think about what you have done.
  24. OK folks...this is the reason that I decided to go ahead and sell the RSV. Eileen is super excited about it and I really didn't need two motorcycles. This is about the cleanest used boat I have ever seen and I looked at a LOT of boats over the past few days. It is powered by a 350 MAG, Alpha Drive, with 344 Hours. It has never had any painting done on it and I couldn't find a single scratch or ding anywhere on the hull. I hope it is as good as it looks. We looked at it yesterday and made the deal on it today. Will pick it up next Friday after taking it on a test drive first.
  25. No problems that I know of. Everything seems to be working from here.
