Bob, I just looked and you have already paid me once. If you want to pay again, that's up to you.

Flags finally arrived yesterday. Will be getting them in the mail today to those who have already ordered. Still have extras if anybody else needs one. Here is the thread with picture and price. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=73486

Problems should be corrected now. Bottom of forum should show users in chat and chat should work on Iphone and etc.

Not ignoring this folks. Will try to get it straightened out tonight.

You don't need anything else except for the gauges and a couple of screwdrivers. A long phillips head and a regular straight blade. You don't need any adapters nor a fan. It literally takes about 10 minutes to sync the carbs. The tank nor seat have to be removed. Very simple. Personally, I would either go with the carb tune or the vacuum gauges as shown in your first post. The Motion Pro are fine and will do the job as well as anything but have to be handled a bit more carefully and I have seen the mercury...or whatever they use now...get sucked out of the tubes if one of the carbs is off too badly.

Yea, Eileen was OK. She said it was very comfortable but on longer rides, she likes a bit more room to stretch out and change her position. I got very lucky, IronMike here had a KuryAkyn adjustable tour pack relocation kit that he traded me for some carb tuning and etc. It slides back and forth to 1" further forward and 3" further back. Very nice.

Folks, I'm not saying that it is solidified but it sure seems like the way to go at this point. Kentucky was leading in the poll that I had per-maturely posted but the original facility in Kentucky was going to be inadequate. I've not seen anything about an alternative location in Kentucky. So...right now...I'm thinking that Alabama may be the best choice but I'm still open to comments and suggestions.

I too went with the Heritage bars. I think I am going to like them but won't know for sure until I do a good trip on it. My initial feelings were that I wished they had even a bit more pullback but we'll see. They are certainly better than the stock bars. My bike came with the mid frame air deflector. It is standard on the '13 models. My dealer told me that they offer an exchange for the pipe with the CAT. I pull mine off and take it in and they exchange it for one without a CAT for $100.00. I will do that over the next couple of weeks. Otherwise, no other complaints right now. Eileen did complain a bit about not having quiet as much passenger room as she did on the RSV but I took care of that yesterday.

This sounds like a fantastic place to me.

Well...I mean...nothing was...well........... going back to my corner now.

My new Road Glide did come with a decent sized oil cooler. It is fairly effective as long as you are moving. It's when you get stuck in a traffic jam that the heat is noticeable. The new bikes have the CAT in what I think they call the "mid pipe". I took my bike in for the first service yesterday and learned that my dealer has an exchange program. I can remove the pipe and bring it in and they will exchange it for one with the cat for $100.00. I will be doing that within the next couple of weeks. Otherwise, so far, I have no complaints about the bike. There are some things that I like better about the RSV but there are things that I like better about the Road Glide. They are both great bikes.

Well the only time it shuts down is when I am stopped and it is hot. You can certainly tell when it's running on one but it's actually kind of neat I think. At any rate, it sure doesn't bother me. My one and only complaint so far is that heat when you get stuck in traffic. That will get somewhat better though once I get the catalytic convertor out of there. That will be done within the next few weeks.

They have pockets for the speakers. Our Edsets speakers fit in them very well with no modifications. I'm not sure if the larger J&M speakers would fit or not but I have to think that they would. To be honest though, we have now removed the speakers from our Edset and use earbuds. They fit fantastic under the helmet also with absolutely NO pressure of any kind and sound fantastic. The Mag 9 was the other one that I was looking at but decided for the price, to give these a try.

Maybe some...but as you say...not much. Now if you decide to order them from Revzilla, please use the banner link so that we get some commission on it.

Yes, two separate shields that can be raised or lowered together or separately. Very handy.

The week before leaving for Galena, I ordered two new helmets. Our old Nolan N42 models were getting close to 10 years old and though they still look good, I knew it was time to add a couple of new ones. I did a good deal of searching and there weren't many out there exactly like Eileen and I wanted. I wanted 3/4 helmets with visor, integrated face shield and integrated sun shield. I found a couple but one was almost $500.00 each and the other was about $180.00 but you had to remove the visor to use the shield and etc. I then found these AFX FX-50 helmets. It was one of those cases where they looked too cheap to be any good but the reviews were mostly positive so I decided to give them a try. At $85.00 each, I did not have very high hopes but I can tell you that both Eileen and I were very pleasantly surprised with them. All the features that we wanted and at a GREAT price. They also have ear pockets for your speakers and the finish is as nice as you could hope for. We found them to be very comfortable on our the trip to and back from Galena. If you are looking for a nice 3/4 helmet at what I consider a bargain price, you should check them out. One word of caution. I used their sizing guide to try and determine what size to order. Using their guide, I would have needed to order an XS for Eileen and a medium for myself. Just didn't seem right so I ordered my usual Large and ordered her what they call a S/M. Both fit perfectly. Had I ordered what their sizing chart indicated, they would have both been too small. I bought them from a company that I had never dealt with before. Revzilla. Shipping was free, they shipped the following day and I had them at my house in 3 days. I was so impressed with their service that I've added a banner for them that will rotate with the other banners at the upper right of our site.

Thanks to Carbon One

hmmm.....and here I thought we had become friends. You are just like all my other friends around this place. -
One GALLON of EVERYCLEAR? WOW....that is going to be potent enough. Actually I guess that would make it close to 100 proof or 50% alcohol.

You can do that with the Edsets 3G module. You can just unplug the speakers, cut off the wires and just use the mic. There is still a jack on the back of the module to plug in some earbuds if you decide later that you want to. I've removed the helmet speakers from our Edsets and we just use earbuds. The sound is amazing that way.

Sorry about that Monty. I screwed up. Meant to just delete the poll until we could further explore the possibilities and accidentally deleted the entire thread. My bad.
-
I don't know how I got involved with this. I'm pretty sure that I am totally innocent as always.

Now that looks like an excellent solution for a half helmet. Very good. If I actually OWNED a half helmet, I would take you up on this.

I'm really not sure yet what the mileage per tank is. The Ultra has a 6 gallon tank. The only highway miles I have done was riding two up and pulling a heavily loaded trailer. I averaged 36 to 38 MPG on that trip riding usually 75 miles per hour and a bit faster at times. I'm thinking that riding one up without the trailer that I should get in the 45 MPG range. Just don't know yet.

I don't know if it was down when you posted or not but it seems to be OK now.
