Most of the time now I use the Purolator PL14610. Get them at the Advance Auto that is close to me. I think they are a good filter and not too expensive.

A lot of folks here have installed Road King mufflers on the RSV. Not much louder, if any, than stock but to me that means that you could by Vance & Hines or any others that fit the Road King and they should be easily adaptable to the RSV.

Well, just to be safe, I just stopped at a different Gander Mountain and picked up another 525 count value pack. This store had the Remington 525 value pack and plenty of 50 count boxes of CCI but did not have the Federal. I was going to see what they were. At any rate, with the purchases from the last two days and what I already have at home, I should be set for a good while. Also remembered this time to pick up a box of 00 buck which I had been meaning to do for MONTHS and kept forgetting. I have an old Stevens 311 double barrel with 18" barrels that I keep around just for the heck of it.

I bought the Remington 525 value pack. Brass-plated hollow points and they were $24.00. They Federals were $19.00 for the 500 count. Not sure if they were plated, lead, hollow points or whatever.

I went into a Gander Mountain on the west side of Columbus yesterday to see if they had any .22 ammo. I didn't expect to find any but I stop and look from time to time. I bought two 50 round boxes a couple of weeks ago at Fin, Feather and Fur in Ashland and it was the first time I have found any there in months. They had a two box limit though. I was surprised yesterday to find 500 round bricks of Federal, plenty of 50 round boxes of CCI and 525 round value packs of Remington. I picked up a 525 round box of the Remington. Didn't ask if there was a limit or not because that was really all I needed. Are you folks finding it in stock now or did I just happen to stop by at the right time?

Your vacuum gauges are fine and possibly even better. I like the Carbtune a lot but you CAN have a problem with a rod sticking from time to time. I will use my Carbtune as long as it does the job but if I were to have to replace it, I would probably go with the vacuum gauges.

YIKES....just noticed that this was posted in the first gen section. That may explain why I haven't seen that part on my '99. Sorry about that.

Unless my memory is really bad...and it may well be...I don't think that part came from any of the areas that you mentioned. I don't even remember see anything like that anywhere on the bike.

I tell you what. I understand that things do happen that we have no control over. If you want to borrow my shock, I will not hold you responsible in any way if something happens to it. Now that's the best I can do. I'll even pay shipping to you. You just pay return shipping when you send it back. If it were to blow, you can just throw it away. I wouldn't need a blown shock returned.

It bothers me when folks get upset and delete their opinions just because somebody else has a different opinion. Bumble Bee asked a question and anytime such a question is asked, there will be varying opinions. He needs to hear both sides of the debate and then make up his own mind. Just because somebody does not agree with you, does not mean that your opinion is without merit. We sometimes need thicker skin around here.

I don't know if it's worth your time to do it or not but I have a spare stock shock if you want to borrow it until you can get one. I am out of town so it will be at least Friday before I could ship it.
