  1. OK folks, I ask you to do something for me. Try it this way for 3 or 4 more days and if you truly don't get used to it or just don't like it, I'll change it back. This is a much more accurate way of marking what you have done but in the end, it's more important what YOU like. Gary, Venturerider.org has a home page. Your VMAX site does not have a home page. When you go to their site, you go straight to the forum. You can do the exact same thing here by going to http://www.venturerider.org/forum Just go to that link and then add it to your bookmarks and you are doing the same thing you do there. Then there is the same shortcut that you are talking about in the menu bar that says "New Posts". You can go directly to that page if you prefer by simply adding THIS link to your bookmarks: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/search.php?do=getnew That link will take you to the same "new posts" messages that you see at your vmax forum and there will be NO "More" button. You are simply confusing our Home Page with their Forum. Their forum and this forum basically work the exact same way and I THINK they are using the same "thread read" marking system that I have it set to now. As for the links on the page that you are talking about. Those take you to the home page as they should. If you want to return directly to the forum, don't click those links. click the link in the menu bar of the forum that says "Forum". It's at the far left of the lower menu bar at the top of the page. It's at the far left of the menu bar at the bottom of the page after you post a message.
  2. That's the same thing as clicking "New Posts" from the menu bar at the top of the forum. If that's what you want to do, just bookmark this page: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/search.php?do=getnew
  3. vmaxforum doesn't really have a HOME page. You go straight to the forum. You can do that here if you want to. Just set http://www.venturerider.org/forum as the link to the site here. The listing on the home page were never really intended to be used as the main page of the forum, just a list of what is happening. I also come straight to the forum when I log in.
  4. Heck....Zed Zed Top was a GREAT band.
  5. You are the ONLY person who has ever even mentioned the more button. I'm not even sure what is wrong with it. When I click on more, it opens a menu at the bottom so you can advance to more pages.
  6. 27mm or 1 1/16" will also worth I think. I picked up a 27mm at Sears last week.
  7. Those of you who don't like it, how are you using the forum. Are you selecting "New Posts" from the upper menu bar or using Today's Posts? New Posts seems to work best.
  8. PayPall sent for two patches. Thanks Monty.
  9. That is fantastic.
  10. Years ago when I lived in Texas and did a lot of deer hunting, I used to pull a camper behind my truck with an 8 ft. utility trailer behind the camper to carry my ATV when going to our deer lease. It was no problem unless I needed to back up. Tried to make sure I never had to.
  11. Some of you were able to meet member Dan Monday at my maintenance day. He was there with is wife and son. I got this message from him a few days ago and decided I should share it with you all. Please keep him, his son and family in your prayers. Sorry this has taken a while to get to, but some issues came up. First and foremost I would like to say thank you for not only opening your home to myself, my wife and my son; but also for giving me the chance to meet a excellent group of riders that I hope to get to know better as time goes on. We greatly enjoyed ourselves and learned more about motorcycles that day than almost any other time. Your event sparked my sons interest to looking into motorcycle mechanics. As soon as we left we knew it was an event we would love to make an annual run. Now onto the bad part, sadly my wife passed away Friday from a combination of a stroke and an aneurysm. It was one of those things completely out of the blue and she didn't feel any pain. I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving my wife one of the most enjoyable days of her life visiting the event. She loved every bit of that day and that's all she talked about the last days of her life was how much she enjoyed herself and couldn't wait to attend it again. She never smiled like she did when she was on the bike, and that day was by far her favorite day of riding she had.
  12. Yes, just click on "Quick Links" in the second menu bar at the top....for right side just beside "Log Out". From the drop down menu, click on "mark forums read".
  13. I just changed how the forum marks posts that you have read and not read. We will try it for a while and see if you like it better. The difference is that it will no longer time out and mark threads as being read even if you haven't read them. If you logout or are away for an extended period of time, The posts you didn't get too will still show up as "unread". The downside is that it will now show all as "unread" until you mark them read. So it will appear screwed up for now but I THINK you will like it better once you get everything caught up. There is a time limit on unread posts. If you don't read them within 10 days, they will be marked as read. It assumes that if you haven't read them by then, you don't want to.

Not just motorcyclists, pedestrians also. I spent a month there on business a few years ago. We had a pretty long drive to the business where I was working each day. Several times I would see dead bodies on the side of the road. My company supplied driver told me that it was very common. They would try to cross the street and get hit by cars. It happens so often that they would just be covered with sheets and later in the day, a crew would come by and load them up and take them away.
  15. HEY...you trying to jinx me?
  16. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........that was going to be a surprise.
  17. Saturday or Sunday either one would be best.
  18. I have one in Oberlin, OH. That would be a nice ride for you.
  19. It actually takes about 10 minutes. Vacuum gauges or carbtune work very well.
  20. LOL...you guys are HARD. I took my beginners course in Dallas years ago and really enjoyed it. The instructor was indeed humorous and I enjoyed the jokes and etc. He was also very good and did a great job covering the material. Same thing with a defensive driving course that I took once. The humor made it more fun and helped to keep your attention on what was being said.
  21. Hey...I came out good on that deal. Great food and got to see my girlfriend.
  22. I'm in for two.
  23. Dingy, I typically try to do that but I don't always know if somebody doesn't tell me. This is mostly true of members who aren't as active.
  24. That's exactly where I ended up. Full circle. Years ago I started by drilling my stock mufflers. Then I built a baffle/plate for the end with holes that I could turn to match or block off the drilled holes. Wasn't that great. Then I went with a set of Samson's for a while. WAY too loud. Then I installed a set of Khromewerks, excellent quality and could be re-packed. Still got old after a while. Finally went back to stock a few years ago and am perfectly happy now. I went with the RSTD mufflers though. They are a direct bolt on with the only difference being that they have tips that can be turned different ways for a different look. I really like them and it is Sooooooo peaceful.
  25. I got a PM from Tomephil suggesting that I create a new award in honor of Gunboat. I think it's a great idea and would like your input on what it should take to earn it. Now there are two options. We already have the Exceptional Member award. I could simply rename that one in his honor. I could create an entirely new award. Then we would need to come up with some criteria regarding what is required to earn it. In my opinion, if we create a new one, it would need to be distinctively different than the Exceptional Member award. Maybe even limited to only a few recipients per year. This could be done through an annual nomination process and then voted on or whatever. These are just initial thoughts folks. Your opinions are encouraged.
