LOL...yea....ME. Sorry about that. I'll try to get on it soon.
-
I agree that it helps to keep the thread active. I don't think that anybody does it to draw attention to the fact that they helped. Keeping it active and showing the enthusiasm that people show may encourage others to help also. I'm OK with it.

I have both and Bill from Mic-Mutes told me that the Mic-Mute had to be inline first and then then Buddy's cable.

Throttle Issue

I've got a spare assembly here at the house. Complete I think. I'm must not sure what it came from. First or Second gen. Somebody dropped it off at Maintenance Day a couple of years ago. I'll have to look and see what bike it is for. If anybody can use it, let me know and I'll get it in the mail. I'll try to post later today if I can figure out what it fits. -
Of course he is. He has a permanent invitation. Can you let him know?

Folks, Mike is working on an address for those who want to sent a donation the old fashion way. He is working on setting up a PO box or something. I will post an address as soon as I have one.

Well folks, I know that it's a hard time for many but for some it just seems that things get worse and worse. I learned that Mike (snaggletooth) was having some serious problems several weeks ago. I asked if we could help but at that time he just wasn't ready to ask. Mike, like most of us, is a proud man and has a hard time asking his friends for such help but sometimes we just need our friends to lend a hand. This is a guy who has always worked hard and took care of business. Mike actually worked two jobs for several years but both jobs came to an end. The first was when Hostess shut down and then a similar fate with his other job. Now I know that many are living close to the edge right now so PLEASE don't feel bad if you simply are unable to help. If you can though, I know that Mike will really appreciate it. I'm going to share the message that he sent me. I hope he doesn't mind. I received this today after offering to help a few weeks ago. Hello Don, Mike here. Not having an easy time writing this. It was about a month ago when Gary brought my situation to light and you and some of the guys came forward and passed the hat. I'll never forget that. I said I was not going to use the donations until I hit the wall but the wall was coming faster than I expected. I had go into that money much sooner than I'd hoped for and was not able to avoid it. I was in the position to trying to keep a roof over my head and get my belongings thinned out and stored and until a job was found, Not looking like that's not happening as soon as I hoped for. It's been one step forward and two steps back on everything I've tried to do to find a new place to go lately. On this last Tuesday morning I ended up having to take my daughter to the emergency room at the hospital in Lincoln, NE near where she works again. She was in quite a bit of pain and having trouble standing up. What she had been getting treatment for in the recent past was claimed to be a UTI infection. Not uncommon, she has dealt with it for years but it kept getting worse. Tuesday they found she has a serious bladder inflammation and swelling. They think now that she may never if had an actual UTI, may have been something wrong with the bladder or even kidneys all along. They used some words that scared her pretty badly. From her family history I hope they are way off. They have started her on meds and has been refered to a Uroloigist for more evaluation and treatment early next week. At least they didn't keep her in the hospital until then. But they were waiting with their hands out when I took her home. I'm still in debt from her last round in their ER. But that puts me in a position where I can not leave here with Ashley in this situation. Will not leave her alone during this. I need to stay near her. She's my kid. We've dealt with everything together since she was 8 months old. I'd already given notice last month to the management on my town house. I tried to work with them to prorate me out early but they won't let me so I'm legally tied here until end of May now. I lived here since 1999 with no problems with management ever. I was hoping they would work with me a bit as I dropped the long term lease arrangements several years back but no, the money rules here. No easy way out. But being tied to the costs here for another month does not help with Ashley being treated 50 miles away. I'd rather live in a tent closer to her than have a roof over my head here. Good God I ramble on. Like I said, it's been one thing after another trying to close down my home, get rid of my life and store what's left, and then the medical issue with Ashley kind of tied the noose for me today. I'm done. Game over, So I'm done chewing my pride. Didn't taste all that great anyway. I feel like I've been hit by a truck today. My sense of humor has carried me though a lot of things through my life, but I'm having trouble looking for the light side anymore. So if the offer still stands, I will accept any help the club can offer. Not words that come from me easy. But I've run out of options. If not I fully understand. I know others recently lost their homes from flooding and others have lost family members. I'm not the only one with troubles. But thanks for reading this. Gave me a little vent today. They were great little bikes. I never understood why Honda stopped making them. I know she will really enjoy it.
-
Sorry, you are correct. It was the Mazda Navajo that was the same as the Explorer.
-
The Mazda Tribute is basically a re-badged Ford Explorer.

Well I would personally not deal with a company that will charge me a re-stocking fee for THEIR mistake. I probably would not have noticed that fine print and would be plenty miffed about it. A few years ago, I had an Ebay seller try to charge me a re-stocking fee for an item that he didn't have in stock. I had purchased a $3,000.00 generator from a listing that clearly stated "In Stock and Ready to Ship". After I did the buy now, I got an email two days later that said the generators were on back order and it would be at least 60 days. I asked for a refund and was told that there would be a 15% restocking fee if I wanted a refund. I was a bit furious that he was trying to charge me a re-stocking fee for an item that he didn't have stocked to begin with. I filed a case with PayPal and after some bickering back and forth, got a full refund. One thing that saved me was the fact that Ebay policy stated that any items listed had to be available to ship within 30 days so he was violating the Ebay terms anyway. After that, the seller added a note to his ads that stated that due to demand, there would be a 60 - 90 day delay in the shipment of the generators. That was still against Ebay policy so I watched his ads for about 6 months and kept reporting them and they would be removed by Ebay. I finally got tired of messing with him after that. -
Performance upgrades

The VMAX rear is a direct swap IF you get it from the right place. If you just buy a VMAX rear, it is not machined for the speedometer sensor. You either much have it drilled and machine or you have to remove the gears and put them in your RSV housing. Doing that requires some skill that most don't have and also some special tools. I think the best way is to buy it from http://www.rmsportmax.com/ That's where I and many here bought theirs and it is a direct swap. -

I agree. Snake Oil. I saw an independent test of these type products and NONE of them did anything. Some actually hurt performance and gas mileage. The test I read was in Popular Science and tested similar products in cars, not motorcycles. The theory was the same though. I agree with this 100%. These changes are the absolute best bang for the buck. -
It's only a few weeks away folks and we need to get the food ordered so if you haven't signed up on the calendar for Freebird's Maintenance Day, please do so. I never have an exact count but the closer I can get makes it a lot easier. Here is the link to sign up if you haven't done so. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=337&day=2013-6-8&c=1

I enjoyed the video. Very well done.

Folks...this thread is almost a year old. I don't know why the question about Leather Up was tacked onto it but that's OK. Just wanted to point out though that the discussion about MSS is pretty old.

You know...I don't hear the frogs like I used to. I miss hearing them at night. I'm thinking that the snakes have eaten a lot of them. -

Patti, No problem if you want to come Wednesday or Thursday. Now remember, YOU were the winner, NOT B2DAD. I don't know where he is planning to stay. I guess we can discuss him staying with you if that's really what you want...but....you need to assure me that he is house broken. -
I really like Frog Legs and have eaten them many times. To me though, they do not taste exactly like chicken. They have the same general texture as chicken and taste similar but with a slight fishy taste. At any rate, they are very good.
