  1. I figured I had better get busy huh? HATE doing them and HATE sending the money that I always owe but I think I've put it off almost as long as I can this year. Just spent about 3 hours working on mine and am just about done....but oh....it hurts.
  2. You made a wise decision young grasshopper.
  3. Got the following email back from Gunkylump in response to the email I sent regarding maintenance day. He asked to to say hello to you all so I thought I would just post his email and bring you all up to date. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Hi Don: Thanks so much for the invite, but Beth and I won't be able to make it again this year. As you know, we sold our two royal stars almost two years ago now, pretty much after our vacation trip to your great home state of Texas, where we visited with many, including Ponch and gang. Sure miss everyone! We purchased a sailboat, and you probably didn't hear, but I had a serious accident while stepping off the boat last September. I broke my left leg, both bones, at the ankle, and dislocated my foot. I was off work for 5 months, and probably went back to work too early....but had no choice $$$ wise. I am progressing well, but by the end of the work week, I'm pretty sore and gimpy....so, from gimpy to gunky...all in one fell swoop. Beth misses the bike, sometimes I do. Funny thing, and here is some irony for you...I bought my first bike when I was 12 years old, picked dew worms, cut lawns, shovelled snow...saved up for that 50 cc Bombardier. I then rode on and off for some 43 years, no issues. After Ponch's and a few other accidents, I began to feel vulnerable, and uncomfortable. Once I got my leg swung over the seat of the bike, I was ok, but the problem was getting my leg there. Nothing physical mind you, just a mental thing...worried about getting wacked and being responsible for Beth getting injured. So....I sold out. Bought the boat, the rest, as they say, is history. I miss the Venture gang, the family. I visit the site regularly, but have not paid the fee. If you would be so kind as to say hi to everyone for us, and maybe just a small update to let them all know we're doing fine and missing y'all, it would be appreciated. BTW, the fella that bought our Venture is now a member, Barry from Amherstburg, ON. Nice guy, and he's thrilled with the bike. I hope you get to meet him some day. Take care, you, Eileen and the rest of the Venture family are forever in our thoughts. gunkylump
  4. I just updated the link. Calendar link was old also. Updated it too.
  5. Come on folks. Only about 100 people are presently signed up for Maintenance Day. That is WAY down and I have to think that more of you are planning to attend. Please get your name on the list so that I can start getting a better idea. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=337&day=2013-6-8&c=1
  6. If anybody wants to come to Maintenance Day and camp but doesn't want to bring the tent, I have one that I can setup for you to use. It's a good sized tent that will sleep at least 4 comfortably. Let me know and I'll have it setup before you get here. NOTE: Picture shows optional accessories that are NOT included.
  7. I have added the link to the Home Page also. OK folks...there are now 180 of you on the map. A LOT of you haven't added your information yet.
  8. Here is a link to Carbon_ones adapters. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3728&title=carbon-one-standard-lift-adapter&cat=24 http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3728&title=carbon-one-standard-lift-adapter&cat=24 Many of us here use them. Money well spent.
  9. They are two tone.
  10. That's one thing I noticed. It appears that there are no settings.
  11. LOL...English is not his first language. I've seen worse but the hints are still there. You won't get anywhere messing with him. He has nothing else to offer.
  12. I thought so. I tested it earlier on my Iphone. I know....it's about time.
  13. If you get a response, it will probably along the lines of the bike being stored somewhere and will have to be shipped to you. He will probably offer free shipping and tell you that the money will be secure in Google Wallet until you approve the bike upon arrival. None of which will be true of course.
  14. Looks great. That's the second one I've seen posted here with that conversion. The other guy said that the bought a wheel off Ebay with the rotors also and they worked also.
  15. Our prayers will remain with you and the rest of the family. It's something that we all face but it's just difficult to be emotionally ready. Sounds like you have some wonderful memories and that is so important.
  16. Hey...you did not offend me at all. I understand exactly what you are saying. It was strange because I went into a Dick's Sporting Goods just a few blocks away and they had a SINGLE box of .38 on the shelf. Nothing in any other calibers at all. I then went into this gun shop and they had everything you could have wanted.
  17. I didn't say I was giving it back. I said I COULD give it back. We'll see. Depends upon how good...or bad...you are.
  18. Just tested it with my Iphone and it seems to be working properly now. For those of you who don't know, there is an html version of the chat that must be used if you wish to access the chat on an Iphone or Ipad. The html version was not working and that is why I was working on it. To use the html chat, you have to use this link. http://host718.123flashchat.com/venturerider/htmlchat/123flashchat.html?init_host=host718.123flashchat.com&init_port=21127&init_host_s=host728.123flashchat.com&init_port_s=443&init_host_h=host738.123flashchat.com&init_port_h=443&init_group=venturerider&init_root=http://host718.123flashchat.com/venturerider/ The easiest way is to email that link to your phone and then bookmark it.
  19. OK...just upgraded the chat room software and tested it with my Iphone. Seems to be working properly now.
  20. OK...chat room is upgraded. Haven't been able to test the html version on Iphone because nobody else was in there.
  21. No, sorry, there is not way to do that at this time. Clicking on that globe does open a map but it's a different one.
  22. I really enjoyed it. Don't get out much when I'm on the road. Tom needs a new camera though...that one made my hair look gray.
  23. I bought a Glock 27 last weekend. It is a .40 subcompact. Haven't even shout it yet. It came with three magazines and the guy left one of them full but that was all the ammo I had. Stopped at a couple of stores and they had nothing. Drove to Buffalo on Monday and stopped by a shop here and they had a shelf full of any ammo you could be looking for. I was really surprised. Bought a box of practice ammo and a box of defense ammo and both were priced at normal prices. was very surprised that they had a great selection of most all calibers from what I could tell. The Glock is nice and I've owned other Glocks but I really have my heart set on a Kimber. Just don't want to part with that much money.
  24. OK...I just repaired it and also did some program modifications that should take care of the problem in the future. The problem is that the program is very sensitive to what it consider to be "invalid" characters. I have just modified the code so that if that happens, it should automatically repair itself through cron job that runs every 10 minutes.
  25. I agree. Also note that if you use an IPAD or Iphone, it really doesn't work at all. Also, please note that I have added a link to the map in the upper menu bar. VR Members Map. Don
