  1. Miles, I don't know how tall you are but that is a major factor in my opinion. I took a short ride on one a few years ago and really thought I wanted one. Then at our International Rally last summer, Pioneer Motorsports was kind enough to let me take one on one of our day rides. I tell you, I couldn't wait to get off that thing after a couple of hours. I am tall with a long inseam. There was just no way for me to get comfortable on that thing. My back and shoulders hurt so bad that I wanted to just get off and walk home. Heck, I finally asked my wife if she wanted to try it and I road back on the passenger seat. I had a dealer tell me right up front that I was not going to be happy with it due to my height. He said that Can Am was aware of the issue with tall riders and there was talk about a new model to address that issue but that was a couple of years ago and I've heard no more about it. There are some highway bars on the market but they really don't address the issue.
  2. Well as I was driving home the other day, I was reminded of a pet peeve and thought to myself, it would be interesting to post this topic and see what others pet peeves are. So now here it is and I can't remember what that pet peeve was. So I guess a new pet peeve is not being able to remember what my pet peeves are. OK...this is not the one that I was thinking of but is still one of mine. I travel a lot so often dine out alone. I hate it when I go out to eat at night and the hostess immediately asks me "would you just like to sit at the bar". NO...I do NOT want to sit at the bar. I want to sit at a table or a booth where I can relax and enjoy my meal. NOT balanced on a bar stool. If I wanted to sit at the bar, I would say something like "if it's ok, I'll just sit at the bar". Please don't make me feel that my business is not as important to you just because I am alone. Now it wouldn't bother me so bad except that at least 50% of the time when I am asked this question and I say "no thank you", the hostess seems to get miffed about it.
  3. For anybody else who may have missed it, this is what I mean. Each entry in the list shows which forum where the post is located.
  4. I'm not sure what you mean. If you are going to the home page and looking at the lists of posts from there, they all clearly state which forum they are in.
  5. My wife makes the rum balls every Christmas. Of course she makes hers from all fresh ingredients. They are fantastic and go quickly. Luckily she doesn't make them all year long or I would weigh 400 lbs.
  6. I know there was a hidden microphone there. Here is what he was saying. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VXEDUVkbt8]The Insanity Test - YouTube[/ame]
  7. Well Ditchdoctor, I see that you are riding a second gen so you should be OK. The tools that came with the bike will pretty much keep you going if you ever even need that much. Now if you are riding a first gen, something like this would probably be best.
  8. I don't know anything about it. Are you using any kind of app on the Ipod? Forum runner, Tapatalk, that kind of program? If so, I wonder if is a free version that is supported by ads? Don't know that either of the ones that I mentioned have ads but some may.
  9. Here is the link to making them. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=492
  10. Yes, I have extras. Check the VentureRider Merchandise forum for ordering instructions.
  11. The forum one was put up back when I was having some problem with the classifieds. I should have removed it long ago. Just hid it for now.
  12. I agree. I love my Bushtec. Yes, they are a bit expensive but I've spent money on dumber things. By the way, the Prestons no longer own Bushtec. They sold out about 2 or 3 years ago. I think it is owned by an investment company now.
  13. Got your order. Thanks much.
  14. Go to the Venturerider Merchandise forum and you'll see threads for the bells and the small patches with all the information.
  15. LOL....it's always a donation when I participate anyway.
  16. I wonder how long her nose is now?
  17. Thanks Condor. I thought they turned out really nice also. It doesn't appear that there is much interest at this time so I'll hold off on the decals for a while. Will check again later.
  18. Just emailed my registration, paid via PayPal, bought tickets on the trailer, reservations are made.....so let's GO...I'm READY.
  19. From what I was told...fermented is putting it kindly. The word I heard was ROTTEN!
  20. OK...patches and bells should get to me this week. Now moving right along, who needs the domed decals? I'm thinking about going ahead and placing an order for more of them also since I'm completely out. Price will be the same. Here is the information. Please reply here if you are interested. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39088
  21. Expensive but interesting. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2013/03/11/world-first-rear-view-flip-front-motorcycle-helmet-introduced/?intcmp=features
  22. Valve adjustments are really just too big a job to tackle with the limited amount of time that we have at maintenance day. I would discourage it but if you DO decide to try it anyway, please know that while there will likely be people around to lend assistance and advice, you are pretty much expected to take the lead, get your hands dirty and do much of it yourself.
  23. I guess some will like it but I just don't think it will be a big seller. And what is it with Yamaha that they can't figure out how to make a gas tank without the big flange/seam showing like that. Our bikes have it too but it really seems to stand out on that one.
