  1. Last time I looked for one of those, I never found it anywhere and did not find anything similar.
  2. WOW...you took a real chance. Bet you made him deliver it to.
  3. I absolutely agree that you must be careful when selling on Craigslist or anywhere else on the Internet. It is no different than the days before computers though when you sold via the local newspaper classifieds. Well, except for the fact that you are reaching people who may be further away. I can remember when I was a kid that my dad had a car listed in the local newspaper. A man came to look at it, got in it and started it up then just drove away and didn't come back. The police found him the next day though. He had driven the car to a liquor store in a nearby town. Bought a bottle of whiskey and then parked in a wooded and drank till he passed out. Guess he just needed a ride to the store.
  4. I put one on the '99 but it was in the late fall just before the weather got nasty. I was very impressed with the quality and workmanship but only rode it once or twice before selling the bike to Yammer Dan.
  5. We have a number of water jets where I work. None of them have a manual mode, they all require a digital file. They are very high end units and I don't know if there are other models that can be run manually but I have never seen one.
  6. Welcome back James. Regardless of what you ride, you are always welcome here.
  7. They will all fit physically but there were a few years where Harley put catalytic converters in one of the mufflers. Those are generally not desirable of the RSV or the RSTD. I'm not exactly sure which years it was.
  8. I THINK they will work. The 2013 does not have the catalytic converters in the mufflers, they are in the head pipe. I think the mounts are the same as the earlier models. If I was home, I would take another look but unfortunately I'm on the road again.
  9. Always hard to lose a loved one. Please know that she and you are both in our prayers.
  10. It's fine here. I'm sitting in Los Angeles where the sun is shining and it is 67 right how. Was sitting outside having a smoke and it seems that mini skirts are really in fashion right now. HEY...SOMEBODY had to come here for these meetings.
  11. Flew out of Cleveland this morning when it was 9 below zero. Sitting in Los Angeles now on a business trip and it is 67. Not too shabby actually.
  12. OK folks....the events that I have dates for at this time have been added to the countdown page. I also included a date for my Maintenance Day but it is just a bit tentative at this time. I will verify it ASAP. I still need a date for the annual Texas MD when it is available. Thanks for your help. Here is a link to the page. http://www.venturerider.org/rally/
  13. That's pretty cool. A lot of changes since then but I think that the basic principals are still valid. I know that there are a few who don't agree but I think we have stayed pretty true to the mission.
  14. Brian, I'm with you on this one. The Scrambler would be my choice. Love it.
  15. It's just talk. Heck I won't have time to do anything except company stuff. Between meetings and the show, my time will be completely taken. Wish I could though.
  16. Man...it would be great to have the bike with me. Can only dream about that though.
  17. Hey...it goes both ways. I actually got and posted pictures after the IR in Galena of various bikes being worked on during the rally. It is all in good fun. They all need something done to them sooner or later. Listen folks, I have no false illusions about the long term reliability of the Harley. I have seen a number of Ventures with over 100,000 miles and even 200,000 and more that have needed NO major repairs. I absolutely don't believe that a Harley can do those kind of miles without needing engine work. So.....you will all get your opportunity sooner or later. I just hope that SOME of you carry some regular tools. Those metric sizes may not be enough to help a friend in need.
  18. Well Google made some changes that totally screwed up our members map. I've been working on and waiting for a solution but none have come yet. I'll give it a while longer but this may be going away. Sorry.
  19. OK folks, it is time for me to start updating our events countdown page. If you have the dates set for our annual or semi annual events, please post them to this thread so I can get them added. Please note that the countdown page is not intended for any little meet up but primarily for regular evens such as the IR Rally, my Maintenance Day, B2Dad and B2Moms meets, the Western NY meet, etc. It doesn't have to be a major event but not every little get together for pie type thing either. So if you have your dates set, post them here and I'll get busy on the update. Thanks.
  20. Got home late last night from a week at our company resort on Round Lake near Hayward, WI. It was beautiful up there but dang was it cold. It was sub zero every night with the low being about 27 below zero. Did a little snowmobiling but it was just too cold to do much. Now I'm home but it's supposed to be 11 below zero here tonight. Gotta get out and plow the driveway today but am going to get it done as quickly as possible. I typically hate the hassles of flying now days but have to leave for Los Angeles for a trade show on Tuesday and am almost ...ALMOST...looking forward to it. At least it should be a little warmer there. Hope everybody's new year has started off on a good note. Remember....spring is right around the corner.
  21. She will absolutely be in our thoughts and prayers as will you and the rest of your family. Sorry to hear of your year starting off this way. I hope that she is better very soon.
  22. I may just do that Patti...I didn't know Tom was going to make fun of me and hurt my feelings like that.
  23. Yes, I feel the love. Some love is illegal though.
  24. OK....I admit it is funny. NOT TRUE....but Still funny.
  25. I did an exhaustive search for models of our bikes a few years ago. Even contacted a company about making some for us. The cost was prohibitive to me as the tooling alone was somewhere around $10,000.00. I gave up.
