  1. Found prob. In a perfect world if you buy new, u think it should work. Replaced relay that came with new horn kit. Problem solved. Horn works like a champ! thanks for all the input! Ride safe!!!
  2. Went out today without switching anything on relay. Pushed horn switch horn would not stop blowing. turned bike off it continued blowing. unplugged grnd on horn, it stopped then. Rewired, switched 85 & 86. It then turned on all lights with ign switch off. Reversed 85 & 86, then blew fuses. I did notice that 87 lug was pushed into relay. Bought new relay, haven't replaced yet. As far as being from China, it is a Wolo relay made to their specs but mfg in china. Directions are simple, checked and double checked my wiring. Ridiculous. lol
  3. Wired horn as per inst., used 14ga. wire and relay. Hooked to pos & neg posts of batt. Pressed orig horn switch, loud as all get out. When I released button, it continued blowing for few seconds. In instr said it didn't matter if original wires where hooked to 85 or 86 on relay. Any suggestions.
  4. I am a firm believer in Metzeler. I got 29000 on my last set. But then again it all depends on your riding style and maintaining proper air pressure in my opinion. I am currently running a set of Michelan that I got for a song from a friend. Like the feel, so far. Looking forward to seeing how long they last.
  5. Also, still have safe tread on tires for a few more 1000.
  6. I put a set of Metezler 880's on my 05 RSTD at 10,300 and now have right at 33,000 on bike. Ride 2 up periodically. I wouldn't change a thing, getting that kind of mileage out of tires. Paid 425 turn key. Happy Trails, Ride Safe
  7. I put a set of Metzlers on mine, after going through 2 sets of Bridgestones (low milage tires). I have over 21,000 mis. and looking to get a few more 1000 out of them. Little more pricey, but well worth it. As well as being a great handling tire (In my opinion). But just like butt holes, we all have one, as well as opinions!
  8. Thanks for the response guys. Quiet frankly, sounds as though its 6 of 1 half a dozen of another.
  9. Just went to the site. Don't really think it is very accurate. Got 2 regular stations that I know of in Panama City area, which aren't marked on map.
  10. What have y'all found to be the best coolant to use for 2nd Gen? Was told, any that doesn't have silicates and phosphates. Is that correct?
  11. I have the same jack and I bought it from Sams also. If you would like I can (or I will try and email you a copy of the owners manual, not the most computer literate person around) send you a copy. Give me a shout. Truckin48 Dickie Self
  12. took mine to the shop awhile back. At first the sensor was bad, then they decided the actuator was also bad, which casused the sensor to crater. Glad it was still under warranty, wouldn't have been cheap, if it had had to come out of my pocket, I'd live with it for a pretty good while. Was told, parts and labor $756.00. Works very well, and is a pleasure to have back.
  13. thanks, only problem I found when running about 95-100 get front end wobble. I know not very smart, but every once in a great while I get the wild hair to twist the throttle. Didn't get the wobble with stock windshield.
  14. Hey Little Bob, I ride an 05 RSTD and I put a Quadzilla sound system from Hoppe Industries on mine a couple years ago. Very pleased, and have gotten alot of compliments on the look. Check out my pics and you can see what it looks like. At least I think their there. If you'd like more info, give me a shout.:rudolf:Dickie (Truckin48)
  15. Gary, Sounds like a good idea to me. Whatever you think is best. Thanks again for your time and effort. Truckin 48
  16. Hey Gary, Just sent pay't via paypal as instructed. Got one ? though, what if there is a problem with the tach, whom do I notify? Thanks, Truckin48
  17. If the bike isn't ridden for a couple of days one of the valves makes alot of noise, it will clear up after being ridden for awhile, I was told at the KAW shop that this was normal because since they are hydraulic, it leaks down. Would someone please tell me if he is correct. My warranty expires in Mar. and would like to have the problem taken care of, my pockets aren't that deep. Thanks and ride safe Truckin48
